Brendan can't hide his emotions, which before recently was unwelcomed from men. I get it, I (32M) cry at dumb things all the time. But he's so good at harnessing his feelings, he felt appreciative and got it out in such a quiet and personal way that it has weight behind it. I think that's why he is so popular, a lot of men today welcome a role model that doesn't hide the feelings. I certainly admire him for it.

To constantly deny and bottle your emotions just leads to depression and anger which will eventually destroy you and hurt those around. Took me almost three decades of depression, anger and substance abuse issues to learn that lesson but once I did my life became infinitely better as a result.
And now they both won Oscars last night for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively. They are, in fact, still here! Congrats to both of them. What a comeback story for the both of them

He had to leave acting in order to support himself. This is a MAJOR victory for him - as well as for Asians in general.
