- I bought a cheap road legal 2003 Suzuki GSF1200S Bandit project that initially wasn't running.
In this series I will take you on a journey of how I'm going to get this bike looking and running great on a tight budget.
Part 13 - Let me take you for a ride up the hills!
Enjoy! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
You're right, everyone loves a Bandit. Thanks for sharing your Bandit project!
@sevenrickseven5458 - thanks for watching the videos. Big road trip next week to the Burt Munro rally so will be taking a heap of footage down there including my road trip!
A lovely ride on a lovely road. Thanks for sharing!
@GrosbeakMC - as usual, love your feedback! The road as awesome, just pity it's now 60km/h. So hard to keep the speed down on the Bandit!
Mines also a gas guzzler but I love the thing I’d buy another in a heartbeat can’t beat the feeling of a big bore carbed in-line 4 👌
@oldpop2042 - unsure of the fuel economy just yet as just started working that out. Off on a 1300km road trip next week so will be good to see how it goes. Yes agree with you on the big bore carb'd feel.
Replace the standard rear shock with a quality aftermarket one and drop the front forks 15mm in the headstock makes a big big difference to handling
@MegaGrumpyoldman - thanks for the advice. I have also heard that a GSX-R 1000 will fit in there with a little tweaking. Big weight difference between the bikes though. Great advice on the front forks. I'll definitely give that a go. Thanks for watching my video!
I fitted a basic Maxton rear shock to my metallic green MK1 N and got them to optimise the front forks and it now handles nice.
The Nissin callipers are very good after a rebuild with genuine seals and replacement ss pistons a mate made for me.
I love my machine but it’s difficult to restrain my throttle hand so it’s not always that cheap to run, but it can be economical, oh well! 😂
I hope you continue to enjoy yours, appreciate your video 👍
@ianhoyle8459 - thanks for the advice. Unsure if Maxton shocks are easy to find down here in NZ but am going to explore other Suzuki rear shocks as a cheap fix. Cheers for enjoying the video :)
Thanks for your reply.
Yes a good economic mod is a decent condition replacement rear shock with damping remaining/fork service.
As it transformed the ride making my machine a pleasure to ride instead of the original sagging, wallowing heap.
Maxton will make suspension components to your specifications by mail if you wanted to spend the money (they are awesome quality) but of course many other options nearer or cheaper for you; YSS?
I’ve got just under 60000 miles on the clock now, not so much gearbox whine but these engines are noisy , yours should hopefully be fine being the S model rather than an N (N’s being more abused?)
Looking forward to more of your 1200 content 🤘😊
@ianhoyle8459 - I'm going to explore the cheaper option and fit another Suzuki one so as to keep the Bandit inexpensive. Mine has the equivalent of 66,000 miles so pretty close to yours. Good to know that the whine is probably not a big deal. Didn't know that N's get thrashed more. European thing? 🤣 I know a lot of people do convert the S's to n@ked ones.
Classic motorbikes he calls himself
Thank you 😊
Mine has a similar whine in 4th bit of a worry there’s an English guy on CZcams bandit o’clock I think he call the videos he had a similar whine pulled his gear box down it was a mess in there had to replace a bearing and he managed to get some new gears which were also damaged.
@oldpop2042 - no metal came out in first oil change so I'll just keep the oil intervals sorted and ride it. Owes me not a lot. I'll definitely check out the channel. Thanks for the tip and watching my video.
Güzel abim Türkiye'den herkeze selamlar Bandit tamir video serisini full izledim ve beğendim...1 ay önce bana da almak nasip oldu ilk çalıştırmada motorda homurtu ve eksozdan patlama sesleri geliyor motor sarsıntılı çalışmakta bu çok sıkıcı birşey; sanırım benim motordada karbüratör sorunları var en kısa zamanda halletmem lazım sizce sorun karbüratörmüdür yardımcı olursanız memnun olurum...
@musayldz3351 - first up, thanks for the kind words. Forgive me as I had to use Google Translate. Yes definitely carbs issues. First and foremost, new spark plugs. Also check the caps. New air filter if not already done. These are cheap fixes. If still running rough, then look at rebuilding the carbs. It's actually not that hard. Good luck 😎
öncelikle nazik sözleriniz için teşekkürler. Google Çeviri'yi kullanmak zorunda kaldığım için beni affedin. Evet kesinlikle karbonhidrat sorunu. Her şeyden önce yeni bujiler. Ayrıca kapakları da kontrol edin. Henüz yapılmadıysa yeni hava filtresi. Bunlar ucuz düzeltmelerdir. Hala zorluk yaşıyorsanız, karbonhidratları yeniden oluşturmaya bakın. Aslında o kadar da zor değil. İyi şanlar
