I found out a few times in my life what it takes to survive...food, water, shelter. I`ve had to study solar power with a brain injury...and I`m scared to death of AC electricity...but I have solar now that I built myself, fruit trees all over the yard, a vegetable garden, a creek nearby, bunnies & squirrels everywhere, and a camper with a steel roof over it to live in...from being homeless for 10 years and giving up. Miracles happen. I don`t know how but they do. So many people have WAY less than I do right now. I can`t get over that.

“We have a Republic, if we can keep it”
We are on the precipice of losing it.
I graduated high school in 1976
Bicentennial of our republic’s beginning when the colonies declared independence from the king’s sovereignty.
I have now lived most of my lifetime, all of my adult lifetime watching it dwindle into a ghost.
Did the “ spirit of 76 “ just die on the vine?
My family is rooted as deeply in the State of Georgia as roots can grow. Ancestors on both side came as the Highland Guard that was the military protection for the colony.
Same with what as a young child was still called in politness “ The Late Unpleasantness” some fought on both sides. Most didn’t come back.
To put it bluntly: I am as American as anyone else, we are all Different but all Americans.
We came back together after a war that still shows scars and built the greatest society and nation ever conceived by mankind. Saved the world from evil.
My hope is that god will give us the chance to make something again, will never be the same but maybe a little better than right now.
God save us and the United States.
Long may our republic stand and long may that old tattered flag fly above it.

Took the oath that was for my lifetime. I swore to preserve and protect but as you questioned what we are celebrating: I am also somewhat conflicted. I didn’t swear to preserve the mockery we watch play out daily
I cannot promise that I will protect it.
If a 3rd American Revolution becomes necessary: I will be forced to take a stand along with the millions of those that swore the same and can only hope god will give us the grace to do what he wills.
My greatest oath is to my Lord and I will pray for the guidance he offers.
