I always thought that one set of tyres was enough for the whole year until I changed them and noticed the benefit of different tyres for different types of terrain and weather! In this video I explain the benefit and change my tyre and go for a ride!

Who runs tubes.. also wicked wills are an full dry summer tyre, you'd be better with a Nobby Nic, especially on the front.
Aha. I wonder I’ve crashed about 20 times! I put WW on my bike and fuck me it’s like riding on ice 🧊 😂😂!! What would you recommend for the rear ? Nobby Nic or…..?
Pinched 3 tubes last week trying to muscle on a new Maxxis tire. Definitely frustrating (and kind of expensive!) but like you said great practice! Keep it up!!

schwalbe tires have upped my riding confidence, I started years ago and haven't looked back. can't agree more that you get different benefits over one tread design or another. I wouldn't generalize and say you need to go smaller, faster knobs as the season drys out through. that only works well if you have hard pack, as soon as the loose dirt depth on the ground is greater than knob height you will wash out on corners more than if you had bigger knobs. wicked wills were great on my DH bike in the first iteration of that tire. I haven't tried it since it got broght back into the lineup
Nice jumps Kara , I got them tyres on my Orbea they’re shit lol 😂!! Nobby Nic are better but they’re ok in a straight line in the dry 😂! You’re defo getting better on the bike 💯 it’s a shame you’re not sponsored by Canyon or Santa Cruz cos you could ride an Enduro bike like the Nomad or the Canyon Torque for your jumps etc instead of the E-bike 👍🏾still fun though not having to get uplift 🙌🏼😂
Awesome stuff Kara! You are flying through those trails. You're right, the tyre choice can really change the ride depending on surface conditions. Your jump skills are coming along nicely. Apart from the occasional scuff on the fingers, working on your own bikes is fun. Having Tom to back you up to is pretty awesome. Keep up the great work both of you.

@@Cartsp70 yeah but you rarely get flats on tubless, Ive not had one in 2 years, thats kinda the point of them, I may have had a puncture here and there and just not noticed as they seal themselves while riding, had at least a puncture a month with the tubes in, I resisted tubless for a while but now I wont go back

I run tubes this tubeless fad is messy and unnecessary. I would say that you could do a video with a repair kit and fix a puncture out on the trail. After coaching from Tom.
I spent a lot less time faffing with punctures since going tubeless 🤷 it's the first thing I learnt how to do when I got my bike.
If I'm going XC I take a tube, pump & tools, not had to use them yet 😀

Run tubeless. So much easier & allows a wider range of pressures. Or at least fix your pinched tube - such a waste to just bin it.
Dont feel bad about snapping a torx or allen key... Happens to the best of us :D
