    I have an ESC that the manufacturer sez is intended for a 130/180 brushed motor. I connected it to a 550 35T . it worked fine, ( in a short test). do you know what would typically happen if I were to continue using it this way. would it damage the the ESC or possibly damage the Motor ?

  • @TheLowerNard-sc6rq
    @TheLowerNard-sc6rq Před 4 měsíci

    So, on my receiver, it has
    "battery/1/2/3/4/5/6". When the battery is plugged into the ESC, that leaves the one plug that supplies power and throttle to the motor. So does the plug go on the "battery" pins, or the pins marked "1"?

    I have a DIY tank tread chassis using 2 130 brushed motors that are already installed.
    I'm a noob at this stuff, so I need a little gentle coaching.
    Your video was great, but I need to go a step further. Most brushed ESCs are only designed for 1 brushed motor, but may offer a switch for braking.
    I suspect I could use 2 of these motors with some fancy Tx programming to run my tank tread vehicle, but I have found a brushed ESC 20-30A capacity, that is designed for 2 motors, with two motor power cables a standard servo connector for the receiver, and an extra (yellow) lead identified as "Connect to 1ch/signal". I thought this special ESC might be easier to set up for my tank tread application and I could learn how it works in the process. It also has an "independant/mixed control switch".
    There are apparently no instructions provided, but I have not yet ordered this unit, and won't until I understand what I need to do to use it.
    Could you offer either a quick, clear tip in your response, or even better, do a video on this type of ESC and tank tread or 2 motor speed boat arrangement specifically? Thanks! Jim

  • @kaifailo1452
    @kaifailo1452 Před 5 měsíci

    Power matching between ESC & motor is needed to be considered.That means the power transistors at output stage of an ESC are capable to drive a bigger motor or two smaller motors.

  • @jamesceastep8874
    @jamesceastep8874 Před 2 lety

    Yes, this video WAS very helpful, explaining almost all the basics.
    But I still need your great knowledge of how and why to understand the pros and cons of single ESCs that can control 2 motors separately. How are these hooked up, and how do I set up my Fly Sky transmitter to use them in tank tread vehicles? Is the proper hookup and programming of a single motor ESC still possible to control tank tread vehicles? How?
    What are the pros and cons of a single ESC that has an extra control line to enable control of 2 motors, versus a single esc designed for only one motor, but connected for 2?
    I know this has turned into a complicated question, but I hope you can direct me to (hopefully one of your) videos to carefully explain the answers to my question.
    Respectfully, Jim Eastep

    One very important detail missed about batteries, the C rating. The C rating determines how much current can be provided by the battery. To get the amount of current that can provided is simple, capacity in miliamp hours multiplied by the C rating. .5x20= Ten amp continuous. Most batteries also have a burst C rating, which is the amount of current the battery can provide for a few seconds. If you fail to meet the C rating, you'll cause your bot to brown out, or worse case, you'll kill the battery.

    • @MechNinji
      @MechNinji  Před 6 lety

      Yes, very ture! I didn't go into too great of detail on batteries for this video because it was suppose to be more ESC based. However maybe I should make it a series and do a battery video as well?
