    For anyone doing the .75 inch Rough Country leveling spacers in the front, DO NOT REMOVE THE TRACK ARM BOLT. I just did mine on a vehicle lift but it can easily be done with jack stands. The hardest part of the job is reinstalling the track bar bolt. Without a friend and various size punches, or maybe a well placed ratchet strap, your going to be fighting this bolt a long time. But you don't need to. The gladiator has 2 upper control arms and 2 lower. This will keep the axle in line when going up or down NO MATTER THE DISTANCE OF TRAVEL!. Taking out the track bar bolt as per the instructions will cause more head ache then to just leave it in and get a pry bar to pull down on the axle when removing the springs. It is easly done with one hand and I'm not a big guy. DONT REMOVE THE TRACK BOLT, save yourself the headache.

    In case you want less tire poke and discover that a higher back space wheel will decrease your turning circle with 315/70r17 tires, 35x11.5r17 Nitto Trail Grappler MT(stated 34.76 diameter and on a 7.5 wide wheel 10.8 -11 inch width) would be a great fit on 17x7.5 wheels but my favorite size would be if they where made 35.1×11.4 or 285/85r16, 285/80r17 and 285/75r18(currently manufactured by Goodyear, Toyo, Maxxis, Nitto). Of corse a 285/75r17 on 17x7.5(17x7.5 method racing wheels are an option besides the various OEM wheels) are always a option.

    You could get wheels with a additional negative offset to pull the tires back in a little.
    Did you recalibrate for the tire size?
    I wouldn't go any smaller with the tires. Gladiators already look small with 35's. Smile
    Would love to compare MPG with the biggest tires from stock...

    As compared to drive it home from the Stealership, cut the frame back 10 inches, drop in a Hellcat, add 40's, change the axles, cut half the back off the cab, and I could go on.. LOL

It was a the only max tow on the lot, but was a hard top. I told them that was a deal-breaker because I only wanted a soft top, so they switched the hard top with a premium soft from another JT. Max Tow was also a requirement because I wanted the Rubi axles and 4.10 gears. I got factory running boards from FB Marketplace for $160, and the Granite Crystal Rubicon wheels for $360 (no tires), also off Marketplace. @@nocogarden yes of course, but Jeep also offers limited slip (which is a poor system). I think I read that also was not available on the Max Tow. So I asked the man with the vehicle if he had open differentials.

      My JLU had 3.45 gears and it was fine. Still accelerated very fast. This truck has 4.10s so it's no sweat.

      Yes, they are actually the factory sensors from the '18 JLU Wrangler. They worked flawlessly with no programming.

    If you go to a 35, don't you need to re-gear your rear end? These tires can eventually hurt your motor and transmission supposedly.

    Im looking to do 33s on my stock gladiator sport. You think they would fit without a leveling kit or lift?

    • @majindevon
      @majindevon Před 4 lety

      33s will 100% fit on a stock Gladiator Sport without any trouble. As you can see he squeezed in 35s which are larger, yet he had to remove the splash guards and will have rubbing when his axle lifts so not ideal. The 33s would be ideal.

    Whats the fuel mileage now with the 35s

    • @4-LOW
      @4-LOW  Před 5 lety +1

      Been running around 16 MPGs. Was doing 19 stock, and my JL Wrangler did 20 stock. The 35s seem to subtract about 2 MPG or slightly less.
