- Hello everyone! In this video we continue the series of my ATSF GP60M build where we get a good grasp on the construction of the dynamic brake section of the locomotive. As we will see, it presents quite the challenge for both my mental and physical skills. This will end up being part two of three videos of this process since it involves way more work than I initially expected. Despite the challenges, by the end, we still make some progress.
I certainly show that while this has been a fun and exciting journey, the good, bad, and the ugly have definitely reared their heads in this stage of the project.

Best thing with ANY hobby is to just walk away when you get frustrated; remember, it’ll still be there when you get back, and there’s nothing so bloody important that a few minutes (or hours) rest will cost you big time. In fact, it’ll save you from silly mistakes that’ll just lead to more frustration!
That is the greatest piece of advice that anyone can use, and my wife has tried to pound that into my head for years. However, I’m just getting to the point to where I actually heed the advice as opposed to continually trying, especially when fatigue starts to set in! 😁
Maybe I missed it, but may I ask why you’re using JB Weld on the brass instead of flux and solder?
Model railroading is supposed to be relaxing ... sometimes it the most stressful thing ever. With me Murphy's law is in full effect. 😂
