*IMPORTANT* It's an extra step not mentioned here! (1) Right Click USB Property, (2) Format USB, (3) Format into "FAT32", (4) Place BIOS ROM or CAP file in USB. Good luck!
Where is the USB property tab?
(1) Place USB in computer > (2) Go to "Computer" > (3) You'll see "Local Disk"
and all available "Removable Disk" > (4) Select Removable Disk (It
should show you the USB memory capacity ex: "14.5GB free of 14.9" or
whatever amount of capacity space you have available) > (5) Right Click
Removal Disk > (6) Click "Format" > (7) Change "File System" option to
"FAT32" > (8) Quick Format "Click Start" > (9) Place BIOS ROM or CAP file in USB. Goodluck!

Hey man, I have a question. I'm wondering if I should update my bios from ROM to CAP structure. I see the CAP was built to better fit Win8, but I still use Win7. My question is: CAP structure is exclusively for Win8 ? Can I use CAP structure on bios even if I will keep Win7 ?

hey steve im gona uptade my crosshair hero vii wifi from the original bios version into one that allows me to use a5600x processor, i was wondering if i need to do something such as clear cmos before doing it, or just set default inside the bios to begin with the update
My 2 970's I'm setting up in SLI are recognized by my computer's device manage and by NVIDIA's control panal but NVIDIA control panel says to connect SLI bridge and will not let me config. Could this be because my Motherboard's bios is not up to date? Also when my bios loads it says CPU fan error. When I hit F1 to run setup the CPU fan says N/A and the diagram/picture of the fan is not spinning,does that mean something got unplugged when installing my second GPU? Any help would be greatly appreciated (noob here).
Is there no manual bios flash button on the boards any more? I'm trying to update my prime b250m plus, specifically and only because I CAN'T enter UEFI bios settings through any method, rendering the EZ flash method completely useless

Here I am in the year 2020 having this issue. I have a Asus Rampage IV extreme a friend sold me that had been bricked. Will this work for that motherboard too it seems so similar. Also becuase this is years later will that update still be on Asus's website

I did a bios update on my asus tuf gaming laptop but not from a flashdrive.It was directly from the laptop after a windows update.But the bios update stays like this: "WARNING: BIOS upgrade is processing.Don't turn off your computer. " It stays the same from like 2-3 hours.The bar doesn't move which shows how much is it updating.I don't know what to do.If somebody can help me,I'll be really thankful :) .

I updated my asus motherboard but now windows can´t boot. Tried to check if AHCI was enabled and it is, also changed boot from UEFI to Other OS and windows still won´t load or repair. Do you have suggestions?

hi steve, i have already the bios file on my usb. but when i enter to the bios the file dont show? how to fix that???
so um, my pc wont get into bios, it boots up and works fine, but when it says to press DEL or F12 to get into UEFI or BIOS, i will press DEL key and it will hang there with a black screen and a white underscore and it will just hang there and my fans(both on gpu and cpu) ramp up to a high RPM.................. help me please

So my graphics card (EVGA GeForce GTX 760) decided it didnt want to be a GPU anymore. Oddly, after I updated the drivers through NVIDIA. I have tried everything from rolling back drivers to reinstalling Windows. Someone suggested that "You need to flash the bios, chances are that’s what’s bad. Things easily become corrupted with driver installs." Would this be the best move if I have tried everything else? I cant afford another gpu right now and dont really know many people who would be ok with, or even understand what Id be asking if I asked to use their PC to check my card on their system.

Great video! Unfortunately I just tried to update my old ASUS CS-B motherboard from a 2014 to a 2018 BIOS version and all I got was "Security verification failed".. :( Any solutions? Thanks in advance to anyone able to help.

I can't get to the BIOS (DEL or F2), just black screen, is there a way to do the update through Windows 10 x64/ASUS Z370 Prime-A/Intel i7 8700K/GeForce GTX550Ti. I hope that the update will fix, the fact that I cant get to the BIOS screen.
what happens to your current overlclock does it transfer over or will it wipe it back to stock?

It'll wipe it. And even if you save a profile to a usb, you aren't guaranteed to be able to restore it after updating. The best bet is simply to write down the settings you had before (although they may not be stable on the new bios anyways so be sure to retest)
Asus suggested since I have win10 and the current bios cap they have is win8.1. How long does it take for Asus to have a win10 bios?

Hopefully I can get my question asnwered, lets say if i buy z87 mobo and want to use a 4690k in it. can i put in the 4690k in it and then update it while the 4690k in it. such as if the mobo's bio doesnt support it can i still install it in it and then update it while it is in their to support it?
Its 2 months late , but newer Rog Rampage mobo's support bios flashing with a usb stick WITHOUT a cpu installed. So you plug it in , stick the usp stick in it in the correct spot , hit the ez flash button on the back and you are done.

I followed the simple instructions but I am getting, "this is not a proper bios" I downloaded the new bios for my Asus X99 Pro and transferred the correct CAP file to my USB drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
