    I have the '22 DCT. If you get it, plan on professional paint correction and ceramic coating, the finish is quite "soft". Also, any GDI engine should have an oil catch can; 6XTH Element makes one that fits in perfectly. Lastly, plan on replacing the stock motor mount bushings (I went with Poweflex). Wheel hop can be terrifying if you aren't expecting it!

      Holy shit the paint is that soft 😭? I wanted to drive the dct but that’s all I could find in a 50 mile radius but I’ll definitely keep looking and make a impression video on it fa sure ! The blow by is that bad on those GDI engines ? That’ll be a platform I’ll definitely be interested in learning about in the future for the channel . Hahaha does it like shake the whole dash when it wheel hops 😂?

      @@t-mogul yep, the paint is that soft. After 2 months the paint correction on my Phantom Black was like a whole new car. I never test drove one. Ordered it straight from Korea, waited 2 months, totally worth it. All GDI engines for the past decade have massive blow by; either try to prevent with a catch can, or pony up to walnut-blast the valves in 5 years. No guarantee the can will prevent all build up, but a good start (Scotty Kilmer has a video about it).
      Shake the dash? Yeah..and it feels like the front end is going to break off at the firewall. There's a YT channel called ENTENSEBLUE worth looking into. Also, an I30N (right hand drive of the Elantra N) owner in Australia put up a vid of the wheel hop.
      BUT...ripping a 90 degree corner at 60 without control loss or sliding is astounding. The electronic Limited Slip Differential is next level. All hail Albert Biermann!

      @@jfernsten sheesh if the regular paint job that’s not black is that hard to take car of I can only imagine. What you and through my guy 😭 . Damn and hear I thought Subaru engines blow by was bad that’s pretty cool yay it’s not just one platform dealing with blow by lol but Ik the power gains on those engines are stout . Sheesh wish for the day I can drive one that hard 😭

    Nice test drive. I like how you said "It really drives exactly what I expected, it didn't expect it to drive like it did". Huhhhh

    Edit: Saw you did N mode at the end. 🤣👍🏻
    I drove the DCT version of this car from Shottenkirk. Only issue is…you didn’t put the car in N mode! 🤣
    I was going to get it but they were charging about $3,000 over MSRP when I was there.
    Definitely won’t be paying for markups.

    • @t-mogul
      @t-mogul  Před rokem

      Hahahah yeah I was a bit nervous to put it in any mode with the sales guy in the back seat 😂 but fa sure if I get another opportunity to drive one ( preferably dct ) again I’ll instantly drive it in N mode a bit more spirited. Yea definitely a up charge but not as outrageous as what I’ve seen on other cars fa sure . No mark up gang ! Even what the price is at msrp you don’t think it’s worth it ? Since it’s a competitor with the type r ?

    • @Grandmasterjord
      @Grandmasterjord Před rokem +1

      @@t-mogul It’s not that I think it’s not worth it but it’s like…if I can go an hour or two down the road and get the same car $2,000-$3,000 cheaper I’m going to do that.
      I love driving so it’s not a big deal to me. I actually got a dealer down to MSRP when it was harder to find the Elantra N but I got a better deal on a different car.

      In my area they are all marked up as well and it's because the demand for these is high. They don't make too many of these so it makes sense. Some people are able to get a good deal and shave off a couple grand at least.

    This car is a competitor to the type r i say it because i have it and the type r

    • @t-mogul
      @t-mogul  Před rokem

      Yeah I figured they are competitors since the pricing isn’t too far apart . That’s awesome man , how’s that type r been treating you ?

      Perfect never had any problems except the tpms system but once you learn how to program it it works perfect other than that no problems at all i did get the fuel pump recall but mine hasn’t had a problem and im tuned ,why fix what isn’t broken

    • @t-mogul
      @t-mogul  Před rokem

      @@opadilla123 you can program the tpms sensors on the car ? What ?! A fuel pump recall ?

    • @opadilla123
      @opadilla123 Před rokem +1

      The fk8 did have fuel pump recall ,and the tpms can be programed on the head unit thats correct ,but what many fk8 owners don’t know is that the fk8 measures tire pressure through the traction control system it has to be programed for winter or summer with a scan tool ,why because during the summer tire presure rises more than 3 psi and during winter tire presure rises less many owners don’t know that and if the car is set to winter during the summer it will have a false reading triggering the low tire pressure icon even if the tires are set as it displays on the label.

      @@opadilla123 holy shit I wish my car came with that neat tool 😭 to be able to reset it based on the weather and time of the year is nuts . So like if you turn on the traction control in the car does it read differently with traction on versus off ?
