I LOVE THIS GAME. You will never understand the sheer tension by watching a video. It's impeccable. Honestly could be GOTY for budget class.

I really wasn’t expecting to like Dark Descent as much as I have. The control system is so intuitive and it’s not at all difficult to control the marines as a squad.
Using the flame thrower on a door make the alien choose a different route which sometime come in handy to thin them out
REASON TO PICK UP THE SMG:
You can still use Supressive Fire when your primary weapons are drained of ammo and you are out of "ammo clips." The SMG is the only sidearm or secondary weapon in the game that allows this. Also, you can then arm the Tecker Drone with the SMG and have another gun in the fight. With all the surplus ammo laying around in crates and on random bodies you will have plenty of reloads for your squad, sentry guns, smartgun tripods, SMG drones, and extra C4 charges if needed. TIP: always elevator save before searching a body. If the corpse returns nothing then reload the save and try again until you get either a tool, a medkit or an "ammo clip." At the very least get some materials. Never accept a return of nothing from a corpse and you will have plenty of tool and medkits the to throw away on creating safe rooms, reducing stress, healing comas and upgrading turrets as well as repairing (i just reload when a turret gets damaged. I dont waste tool.)😊

I think the infinite numbers of aliens is good for the game. The Horror of Aliens is anytime anywhere and u can't escape. I love the atmosphere. With limited amount of enemies u rush the game and done...
sentry gun and mine kills outside your squad vision are also STEALTH (will not reveal the squad when damaging/killing enemies ) ..

If they just updated the graphics a little (character models) and the voices. They sound a little low budget then it would be absolutely amazing. That said this game is so fantastic. Really nails the atmosphere. Absolutely loved it.

I like this video. Very clear and informative. I learnt a lot and am using the new knowledge in my first playthrough. I just have to grow balls so I can go out of the welded room first...
A lot of great advice in this video, one correction though, you can kill eggs with a sniper rifle.

They need some dlc campaigns. The game is good, I doubt I’ll play this campaign after I finish…maybe once more to perfection. I mean I’ll pay 10 more bucks for another full size campaign play. I’ll probably keep doing that if they keep dishing them out.
After playing again on nightmare, I prioritized getting a sniper on my squad as quickly as possible... wish I had done that on my first playthrough on hard :P
I think what this game needs is careful balancing in the top end. Find the sweet spot that games like Darkest Dungeon and XCOM nailed before. Where you can't just be cushy and safe even if you meta-solved everything perfectly. Always being at risk is what makes it exciting.
So for example you just get a little unlucky, you make a tiny mistake, you suffer heavily. And it's not exactly preventable, all you can do is be prepared to roll with any and all punches as best you can. Ideally there will be casualties, and missions will have to be started with soldiers in suboptimal condition etc. The problem to solve is how not to fall apart even when stress and trauma are running rampant, attrition hits hard, maybe you simply have to leave a high level soldier behind in order for anyone to get out alive. This should be the reality after choosing to play highest difficulty. This makes it always wrong to invest in "super soldiers", but rather you need to spread the resources and xp gain. Because your "best" guy could always randomly eat it.
If you can have an attribute that obsoletes a teckie, then why not 1 sergeant and everyone else gunners?

I do like this game I like the way you are pushed to your limits and is very difficult. But I think it would of been better in the long run as xcom but colonial marines and aliens turn based would of been perfect. I always wished xcom was a lot darker
Turn base would destroy the tension of the game. It's great the way it is, like on movies they stay all the time together, except Bishop XD

map replayability with higher levels of visual infestation would go a long way, love the game tho, even as it is I love to replalying it cose I'm kinda autist x)
I think it would take not so many nukes because of nuclear winter, but I’m no expert.

@@sari4tune The mine usually kills one alien. It is much more efficient to spend this command point on suppression or flare, which will work the entire battle on the entire horde of aliens.
The mines at the hive make little sense, because. after it works, a new alien will simply spawn and go on patrol in the same way. They are endless
for some situations in stealth, mines can be useful, but no more
Doomsday clock ruined it for me. They patched it out but I have to restart it to take advantage so 30 hours wasted. Other than that, this game was amazing for its price.
You packed so much value and information into 1 hour that I can't really complain.
Unfortunately that results in a pretty boring video... but I'm not sure how you could improve that haha.
It seems like me and you agree on the Medic situation... An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The only reason you need a medic.. is cuz you brought a medic and you didn't have enough tools/firepower to prevent the damage haha.
Umm... Can you at least go over the hud? Those litle white dashes above the green bars?

How to play Aliens. Nothing matters except Save settings. Set to permissive. Use autosave and load them when things go to shit and all your marines die(which they will), and you can beat the game. Otherwise, your promoted marines will constantly die or get kidnapped.
Honestly seems like a really boring way to play.
I kinda wish the game didn't force a reload after squad wipe. I wish it threw you back to the Otago as a failed mission (XCOM style) and.. guess you just gotta go back in and salvage the situation.

Tried it and its way too hard and not fun. Stealth system sucks and once i am spoted i am at 90% stress level after 10s. Not fun game...
The correct stealth is to place sentries so that they do not see your soldiers.
Sentinels, mines, APCs, drones don't remove stealth unless your soldiers are spotted.
And make cover after the fight to stop the hunt.
Then it will be much easier when your sergeant gets level 6. At the start, the main problem is stress, not enemies
