Nice little organiser. I find it's always a battle between stocking all the stuff, and just carrying what you need. It looks like you've found a nice balance in size and range!
So true! When it comes to the rest of my gear I have a habit of bringing everything and the kitchen sink. Seems like anytime I leave something at home, I get a surprise and need it on set

Hi , i am working on starting a production company and looking to get two mics for video production i have the 416 but i was looking to get another mic like the 4053B for the Oktava MK-012-01 Movie Set . Or should i just go with a sennhieser mke600 . i just ordered the rode wireless Pro for the wireless lavs . What is your recommendation for a start up production company ?
Hey! In general, I would recommend hiring a professional sound mixer for anything you’re shooting that needs dialogue recorded. Professional sound mixers can rent your company the necessary gear and are skilled at operating it. Generally speaking, hiring a sound mixer will provide better value than trying to do everything yourself. I would add that most sound mixers prefer operating their own sound package which can easily run into the hundreds of thousands.
However if you’re going to be shooting cam and video on a tight budget I will say - 416 is a fine mic for exteriors and controlled interiors. If I was in your shoes, I would put my money into a UHF wireless system for your lav mics. Something like the Sennheiser G4 or Deity THEOS will be more reliable in a variety of shooting conditions because you can tune to different frequencies. You can pair these transmitters with nicer lav microphones like COS11D, DPA6060, Countryman B6. Down the road you can upgrade your interior mics.

It’s tough to give good advice because every production has different requirements and things grow in complexity pretty fast. So with that in mind, yes for basic video production I would steer away from wireless systems that use 2.4 GHz and recommend UHF systems like the ones mentioned in my previous comment because they are more flexible and reliable.

Hi, what do you keep your lavs in?
KTek makes some awesome little pouches you can open with one hand. I keep them with my transmitters in a Peak Design Tech Pouch. Check out my channel for the video on that setup :)
