As a former camera assistant (now DP) I can't tell you how much I appreciate seeing someone on youtube who actually takes the time to properly label and organize their gear! Those shelves could roll right onto a 5 ton camera truck and fit right in.
We agree! This is awesome!
The USB charging strip in the video, in case anyone was looking for it like me: SABRENT 16 Port USB 3.0 Data HUB and Charger with Individual switches [90 Watts] (HB-PU16)
Thank you good sir, this is exactly why I came in the comments
@@wlsntech Ditto! Thanks!
I’d love to store my equipment in my garage, but the spiders have evicted me.
Check out a website called do your own pest control, spray your garage periodically and say good buy to your spider problem.
Thank you for always putting out quality info without the over-the-top persona that lots of CZcamsrs feel the need to use. Just straight to the point with great info 🙌
I was going to comment the same thing, it's a breath of fresh air
I agree!
AMEN!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one using a 2ft quasar as a desk lamp lol. Such a great light on the eyes for long term use.
Very nice set up. Well organized. I appreciate you sharing this with us. It's always good to see what other professionals are doing. I work for a small Marketing and Advertising company and I am the entire video production department (and I'm almost 70 years old, really!). I keep most our our gear in Pelican type cases, also on big metal shelves in a large storage room in our office. Everything is labeled. Unfortunately, we have a very old and somewhat small van. So, I load up all the camera gear on our two-shelf Krane 750 cart (I did a video about this amazing cart and it's on CZcams), then take it out to the van where I store everything in it's assigned area in the van. Then, I break down the cart and put it in the back. When I get to the job, I rebuild the cart and load it up with everything I'll need including lights and some grip equipment. Some stands we roll in on their own wheels or sometimes our grip brings his cart if we know we're going to need a lot of light gear. This is a small city so we have to have all of our lighting and grip equipment because there is no one with a truck full of rentable gear until you get to Dallas, 125+ miles away.
If you can get a bunch of soundproofing foam squares and rectangles, plus a nice big rug, I'll bet you can make your new studio much quieter. I worked with a production company that needed a lot of soundproofing foam for their new studio, so they went to the factory where it was made and offered to take all the scraps off their hands. The company was glad to get rid of it, so it was free! They patched it together gluing it on the walls of their studio. They was all different sized and colors so it looked weird but they covered it with a thick, black drape that looked good and added further soundproofing. Good luck on that and in the future.
I also have three of those Husky racks in my garage and love the organization. Can pack and load the van directly inside the garage. Also have a Storage unit down the street for the much bigger grip gear that doesn't get used as much. Great to see a fellow gear head like me.
Rob this is fantastic, really insightful! It's a topic I have so many questions about and there's not a lot of valuable content out there, so thank you for the effort you put into making this!
Congrats on the new studio! It’s so nice to have a dedicated space and have your garage back!
Congrats on the new studio space! Your videos are very inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
Rockin' the Threefold tshirt. Love it!
Congrats on the Studio! Can’t wait to see what you do with it
Very impressive! Really enjoyed your tour. Congrats on the new studio space. I would also highlight the *speed* that your organization gives you!
Thanks for the ideas for storing my trail cameras for hunting season, and up north trips.
Dang that's a good looking shirt! I mean gear hall! 😉
Dude that new space is gonna be epic!!
@@threefoldtv Just trying to catch up to you guys!!
Thanks for this video - it has given me some ideas on how to organise my growing collection of gear. Just retired and going to take up video making/editing properly now that I have the time to do it correctly.
God damn Rob, I'm so jealous of that camera aisle. 😄 The entirety of my gear can easily fit in the two foot gap between my wall and my sofa, so... yeah.
Excited to see what you come up with in that new studio space! 👍🏼
How do you go about security? Seems the garage door isn’t enough. I’d be afraid of break ins. If it were me I’d put bars along the garage doors perhaps. Amazing set up though! Keep it safe! :)
This is a thing of beauty. Absolutely incredible use of the garage. 😎
Congrats on the new space, its huge! Your current storage is so clean and organized, its clear that it took steps to get to that point.
I use Ptouch to label everything as well, but I also use different colors of camera/gaffers tape to "code" my peli cases. Everything is still labeled, but Audio for example, has a stripe of blue, lighting has red. This gives me a clear visual when I'm too far away to read the label. This technique is derived from the Filipino method of finding your brightly ribbon'ed luggage from airport baggage claims.
That's a great idea! Thanks!
lol my family does the same with luggage 🇲🇽
Robert, what a nice video you put out here! Thanks
Congrats on the new space. 👏🏽
I wish I was as organized as you. I learned a lot here.
Love this video and super exiting about the new studio!
I thought I'm obsessed with gear, you sir take it to another level. So cool though, can't wait to be able to get this kind of setup for my company. ❤ All the best.
awesome video bro! watching these kind of videos always makes me want to organise all my gear, which compared to the amount of stuff you have is very, very small.
your way of charging is genius I never thought of that Thank you!
This was great and much more enjoyable than another gear review!
Could watch detailed videos about what is in all the cases and models of everything for hours (because we know you spent hours thinking about the best gear to use in your workflow). Loved this!
Seriously enjoy watching this stuff man. Great video!
Amazing setup
interesting unique video, very inspiring// glad to see people like you on this planet
You are an inspiration man. Been following you for a while. Thanks for your amazing work!
Amazing dude, love this video definitely will reference in the future
Nice video dude. I build my own studio in the beginning of this year. Such a blessing to have! Good luck man!
Very insightful.
Thank you for sharing!
Interesting, that we are doing the same thing in light, camera & storage space.
Same as you, I'm trying to buy fewer light's at the moment cuz as you mentioned, other people are bringing them in trucks.
Also same as you, I started focusing in camera department more therefore, I decided not to go with the new aputure infinibar & go for P+S Technik skater Scope & atlas mercury lens kit.
also I'm looking for a bigger storage to keep my car crane build......got the motocrane radical while ago & a new car to use it with.
the build will be completed by end of May but can't find a cheap warehouse to store it. I blv we will be mounting & dismounting the crane whenever it's needed until I find one.
no tips for me to add, just make sure you fully rig your new place with CCTV 👌🏻
Bro, you looking fit! Amazing work as always!
Great place man!
Congrats!
Good to see you're close to finishing your studio. Let me know if you need help in acoustic treatments.
Nice video! Cool gears!
Loved this!
Goals for my garage this year😊
This is my first time in your channel; just subscribed. Great video!
Can't wait to see what you're going to do with your new space. It looks awesome!
If you allow me one basic question please. Wha't is your favorite brand of C-stands?
Thanks in advance
Have a Productive and Healthy Day!
Watching this so I can FINALLY figure how to organize all of Justin’s gear. It’s overtaking the house!! Thanks Rob!
🤣🤣 You definitely got the space!!
I like those pallet racks / shelves
Sheesh. I’m just drooling over the gear haha. Storage is top notch too. Love it bro
Was just about to organize the studio. Very timely 😅
Nice work mate! The new space will be fun to set up.
Is that a threefold T?
In an effort to be more organized, I've switched from using smaller 1510s to using larger Nanuk cases. I'm able to fit my entire RED kit in one case, including filters, mattebox, a bit of audio, and a Teradek kit. Another case I have set up to hold my flight kit with a couple of lights that I find myself always renting. Same with batteries and monitors. Most of my work is coming from traveling jobs, and it costs the same to check a small pelican as it does a larger pelican, so it's more cost effective to carry more in fewer cases. I'm finding 1510s get gate checked pretty regularly on smaller planes, so I rarely fly with them, and anything that's delicate or a battery is carried on in a large backpack.
Nanuk 938 are great!
Extremely interesting - Thanks for the insights. :D
Always well done Robert! I'm currently using tons of wire shelving and we want to switch to something like you have which looks very sturdy. Where did you get that shelving system?
Awesome camera setup. Can't wait to see how the new studio comes together. Only request... more dog shots please.
This is like heaven.
Amazing!! What kind of shelves do you use? Thanks!!
This is legendary 😍
Hey really enjoy your video. Just wondering about that USB charging dock, What brand or model is it?
Love this video and it has given me a lot of great ideas for organizing. I have one question and that is what is that stand that's holding all you C-stands?
A c-stand cart! I got mine from Filmtools.
Im not sure if this has been answered yet but how do you guys keep a tab of everything digitally? Is there a list of all equipment and a process that you have where you can check what equipment is out on jobs, etc... Thanks!
Boyager 36 the way!!! You should look into euro containers
Where can i find a link to the little organizational bags? Cord bags?
Gear flex 💪🏽
Can anyone tell me the name of those organization bag he had hung up?? 7:11
What are the dimensions on your new CZcams studio area?
thanks
I may have missed it in the video but is there any concern about leaving such equipment in an uncontrolled environment? Moisture, temperature, etc?
Do you know which size bags those are?
Nice video! what is that pouch you used for the tentacle kit? thanks!
Tenba Tool Box!
thanks!
@@robchado
Are you using two half-bowl mounts on one post for the inovative camera-transport - or are you using it for dual-cam Interviews with diffrent lenses at the same time?
Just for transport! I have two horseshoe mounts with camera plates rather than two bowl mounts.
Excellent video. Lots of great insight. Just wanted to give you a bit of feedback, I noticed you use a lot of filler words like “um“ and “kind of“. Just letting you know that does get distracting, otherwise, great video!
Did you used to be a LD in Puerto Rico? I came across this video and your name sounded familiar, so I looked you up in my contacts. We may have worked together a long time ago.
What is the name of the pouch at 7:55
Do you still use your fx9?
How do you control bugs n your garage? I have a lot in mine. To the point where I have to have an exterminator come in every month.
I've had pest control visits monthly since before we moved in so I haven't experienced any! And if we do find anything, they'll come out again with no extra charge.
I see that threefold shirt
I want a threefold shirt 😅😢 also I like organizing things so this video was satisfying
What’s the cool USB charger? Send an affiliate link.
Holy shit, that's a fortune in that garage!
What brand were the storage pouches?

@@robchado Thanks Robert. Great video look forward to seeing more.
I thought i had a lot of equipment 👀. Nice organization tho 👍
i imagine the two big battery are not allowed in the plane ?
You would imagine correctly!
Darn boy, you have equipment rental house, there.
bruh you need marie kondo in there lmao
everything sparks joy
@@robchado all my G&E just sparks. No joy. ;) #groundliftgang
Nice. I feel I’m pretty obsessively organized and you probably have even me beat. Also you didn’t introduce us to your dog. How rude! ;)
👍👍👍
I spy a Threefold t-shirt.
It's only like a pro, if you get paid for the organization 😉
Pro is a title that comes when you start to earn money from your work/hobby.
And remember the fact about the world's geniuses. Messy table = genius. Clean table = messy head.
did he say what i think he said 7:50 lol
why dont u just rent camera gear ?? I just wanna know. I respect your content very much.
bro casually has hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear in his house. I'm not jealous... not at all...
I see dog, I like video.
Is your garage climate controlled? does it get hot in there?
Brooooooooo
Come on, you clearly just wanted to show off ;) And that without giving us links to any of the items you showed us :D
If you ever need a good laugh let me know and I 'll send you a pic of my "organized" equipment room...
Why don't we talk about audio?? lol!
