I like how Aquaman gets more respect in these videos than in any other parody he’s in. This shows he’s actually really important to all aquatic life, even though land dwellers don’t respect him.
They respect him a hell of a lot more than Hawkman, there's merit in that at least.
This has to be a prequel.

The fact that Aquaman is easily the most level headed, rational, and responsible guy here is so fucking funny but it also makes a lot of sense since he's literally a governmental ruler. Sword of Damocles and all that is in effect.
Here are some fun facts:
1. Aquaman is the King of Atlantis/The Seven Seas. Planet Earth is 70% water. Aquaman legally owns 70% of Planet Earth!
2. Atlanteans are very advanced in magic, including timelines where they're connected to the Olympian Pantheon. If I remember right, most of humanity's Homo Magi have some ancestry from Atlantis. Magic is also one of Superman's weaknesses.
3. Some undersea life forms, whether fellow Atlanteans or monsters, have tried to enslave/destroy humanity in the past. They failed because Arthur either befriends them or kills them.

For real, Aquaman is an actual monarch of a sovereign nation. It's so weird how he gets treated as "Just one of the guys"
superman is excentially a god among man with how his powerlevel varies to being powerfull enough to destroy the planet with little effort.
batman is a genious billionaire who not only likely provides all respurces to the justice league but also his influence probably expands to most of their world.
green lantern is an intergalactic ranger tasked to deal with outer space threats across the whole universe.
wonder woman is the queen of the amazons, a superhuman women tribe.

@@unkindled6410 Superman’s job is as a reporter. It’s not an easy job, but it’s a hell of a lot less responsibility then “actual monarch.” Sure he’s powerful, but he doesn’t share the same responsibilities.
Similarly with Batman, name one time he’s ever taken an interest in Waynecorp. He leaves all of that to others and just collects annually off the money the company makes.
Green Lantern is a space-cop. And as everyone knows, being a cop isn’t a real job, but a government sponsored sanctuary for high-school bullies to continue being allowed to do what they love.
Wonder-Woman is the only one who also has the same level of responsibility that she is just constantly shirking to go fight crime-bois. Except, many iterations get around this by having her be the princess with an active queen still ruling in Themaskira, so even then it’s iffy if Wonder Woman has the same level of responsibility.
@@archsteel7 if I’m not mistaken, Batman does pay attention to his company, he just pretends to not as part of his playboy persona. He still needs help from Lucius Fox to run things because he needs to be Batman more than he needs to be Bruce Wayne.

For anyone who doesn't know, the Red Lobster coupons aren't actually offensive. Aquaman's not against eating fish. He doesn't actually talk to them like he would a person. He merely plants suggestions and draws upon surface thoughts with in them. Besides, fish eat other fish, and what do you think the Atlanteans eat?
This is my biggest issue with a lot of sea people vs. land people media. The sea people hate land people because land people are "fish eaters" but bigger fish eat smaller fish all the time, and often their best friends diets consist mainly if not exclusively of fish and sometimes are air breathers (the other derogatory term) too.
Aquaman eats non-sentient life forms, like Taco Bell
I think Atlantis' bigger issue is water pollution. It costs them aquatic life and reduces the quality of life in Atlantis.
The changing temperatures in the sea displace natural habitats, break the food chain and cause massive problems to the ecosystem.
That's not to mention the radiation that still persists due to nuclear tests near the sea. Unmitigated fishing can even empty out the habitat (the same as locusts fucking up our crops).
Basically to any Atlantean, land dwellers act as locusts, factory exhausts, literers, poachers, and in case of oil spills they are like volcanic ash blocking out the sun

Solid jj single handedly defending the noble name of the original Aquaman.
Truly the original Aquaman, Aquababy and Aqualad don't get the respect they deserve. Aquaman protects more than 70% of his planet, has swimming speed to rival Superman and Flash, near unparalleled strength underwater, a hot badass wife from another dimension with crazy magic, a son that can imagine monsters to life, and the royal blood of Poseidon courses through his veins.
Yet for the last 40 years he kept getting dunked on for being a proper hero who doesn't need to fly, wear capes, date reporters or have a mundane secret identity to get things done while being a noble herculean hero 24/7, and the only time he ever gets any respect is when people 'reimagine' him as an edgy long haired dude with the occasional hook. Not his fault Superfriends didn't use him more effectively. Oh well, at least Batman Brave and the Bold did him justice.

I just watched a few episodes of The adventures of Aquaman from 1967 and I learned that he often calls Aqualad "Tadpole" and I find that adorable. It gives cool uncle who's more like your dad than your actual dad is.

Great example of how othering a language barrier can be, especially with sea life. If anyone cares to look, they'd see sea creatures have inner and inter-lives as rich as ours, but most of us just see them as seafood.

You would think after Jason Momoa playing Aquaman that this superhero would get a little bit more respect, but unfortunately this Super Friends version will never have dignity it seems.
Honestly it should if ended when John DiMaggio voiced him Batman: The Brave and The Bold when it played off the 60s cartoon characterization to hammish territory.
