Idk about who the best dog is, but the best dog owner is hands down Eugene. He got rescues and makes sure they’re happy. Also, in the try guys switch pets for a day video, he took Bowie on a nice hike and was just super sweet with him. Eugene just seems super comfortable around all dogs and just lets the dogs have fun and be happy
I agree. He doesn’t over spoil them but he still takes amazing care of them
A lot of dog owners overthink how they treat the dog, but unless you’re dog is particularly troublesome by nature, it’s really just about giving them love and making sure they’re healthy and happy. Simple as. Eugene is nailing it

So here’s the thing. Bowie and bean do need a little more training because they are big and high energy. If they let them do whatever they wanted they would tear up their houses. Pesto and Emma are really chill. I think they’re all equally great dog owners. They all handle their dogs needs as they should. 😊

@@vanessagarcia5259 Desirable breeds have a lot of issues. Sometimes the dogs are forced to breed until they can no longer breed or die. In addition, in pet stores there are many reports of dirty conditions, abuse and incorrect care. Good luck in your quest to adopt a dog!
Zawaaa but i think most purebred dogs aren’t from petstores, but from home-breeders who take very good care of their dogs. selling dogs in pet stores is illegal in many european countries, so we don’t really have a problem with that side of things.
Zawaaa wrong. While yes puppy mills are horrible and the dogs have issues most of the time it’s also wrong to say dogs or any pet from a shelter doesn’t have those. A lot of shelter dogs have issues. Some shelter dogs are from puppy mills (like you said) and will also have the exact same problems, some might be street dogs who also don’t have any social skills with other pets and humans. While it seems like shelters are the way to go when you want a dog (I thought that too) I now know that that isn’t a solve all solution and that a lot of dogs won’t be already trained. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t any. But if someone is getting a rescue they should know that they might deal with a dog with issues and if they can’t deal with that they’re better off getting a different dog from the shelter who already had a family. Or buying puppies and dogs isn’t as bad as it seems. While puppy mills should be avoided at all costs, of you’re buying from a responsible breeder than there shouldn’t be an issue.(and responsible also means socializing and not inbreeding dogs)

thank you, i am getting tired of everyone making Zach seem like a bad dog owner. Dogs require time and structure, dogs that are frantic, stressed and have no structure/training aren't really happy. He has an active, smart dog that he has managed to keep fit, happy and well-behaved, good job!
Yeah unfortunately people do not realise the extreme structure, boundaries and training that a working breed dog requires. Australian Shepherd’s are naturally super smart, energetic but also because of that can tend to easily pick up nuisance behaviours little excessive barking. Yes dog’s definitely bark every so often but nuisance barking like what the other dogs were doing in the video in the house is absolutely not something I’d consider appropriate or allow my own dog’s to ever do. Having a working breed dog is a huge responsibility and I’m honestly glad that Zack has seemed to take the breed seriously and actually put into place training and techniques to help Bowie live his best life and meet all his breed needs.

I've seen people comment a lot on how Zach talks about his dog but honestly it's just a running joke between them all. This really is mostly a bit, I doubt he's actually the type to argue with professionals.

As someone who raises dogs for a living I like Zach could improve on being better dog dad. Zach needs to relax a bit, Bowie’s a high energy dog who wants to play. Barking is completely natural and should only be scolded when it’s excessive.

I like zach's approach. He's playing up his character a bit but it's clear that he spends the most time with mind excercices for his dog. High energy dogs need this. I have no respect for people who can't bother to train their dogs, clearly know nothing about dog behaviour and are annoyed by someone educating them. Accept you can be wrong and watch some educational videos maybe
I agree on the idea of if you get a dog, be willing to put in the work to properly take care of them, including researching whatever breed you decide to get. What I don't like about Zach is he's soooo over the top. Like the way he doesn't want dogs who bark. Like my guy ... it's an ANIMAL. ALL dogs bark. I think Zach is too idealistic about Bowie, in my opinion, but I can respect that he really tries to do his best to keep Bowie entertained and stimulated since he's so high-energy. (Also tbh I get people who are annoyed "by someone educating them," because that person is often doing it in a super condescending way lol. But if you can do it respectfully without intruding into someone's time/space, do it.)
As several dog owners, I also take similar way with Eugene. I teach a couple of tricks, but other than that they just need to learn not to chew stuff, know some ground rules, and that's it.

Something worth noting is that the tension between Ned and Zach’s different parenting styles are being felt by their dogs. So these pups already don’t get along. Meanwhile Eugene’s doggos are more calm together because they already have each other in this scenario.
to be fair those dogs were raised together and live in the same house. They're also very used to being around other dogs, the others aren't often around eachother

I actually like him the least all the time. He’s annoying. I just like Eugene because he’s not exaggerated and has a good appropriate amount of feeling for some thing without being annoying.
I find him a bit irritating sometimes, I do prefer the other three, but I don't think it would work without him. But yeah he's way over bearing about training, Eugene and Ned seem to have a more realistic way of caring for their dogs.

Honestly. Each of their dog raising techniques are pretty well suited to their dogs. I don’t agree with Zach but I have a very chill low maintenance dog whereas he has a high energy working dog.
I also have a high energy working dog, another shepherd type like Bowie even. Doing THAT MUCH is really not necessary. I agree with the various kongs/'puzzle' food, but that's about it. Just give them a really good run every 2 or 3 days and a half hour of some sort of training every day, and they're fine. I think getting an active dog in such an urban area is a huge part of the problem, and Zach's uptight attitude is the rest of the problem.

Though I do agree with the fact that only using his name for one thing doesn't make much sense. Normally I would say the dog listens to the tone of your voice.
