Nice work Elrod! I'm swapping my 8.2" from my 68 Camaro to an 8.5" from a 74 Nova. I was told by a friend who restores cars for a living to use Walnut shells to get into the nooks and cranny's. I'll be doing it sometime in the next few weeks. Cant wait!

Nice work. I'm surprised that Wilwood said you couldn't run their setup. I'm pretty sure they have came across a 8.5 10 bolt before 😂.

Hey Turbo! It's an 8.2 and the problem is the axle offset. The minimum distance between the the brake flange and the axle flange must be 2.710", I have 2.668". The spacer on the carrier isn't quite thick enough and it causes the axles to be offset to passenger side 0.090".

Great content. Working on my 10 bolt right now as well. Had you considered using a Right Stuff kit for the rear disc? I haven’t bought my kit yet, but pretty sure that is the direction I will be going. I used Easy Off oven cleaner and then power washed my rear. I still need to use some sandpaper and rust inhibitor, before going the Chassis black route. Thanks!

Hey Charile! Thanks a bunch. I thought about going with different brakes for the rear. I figure I'll run it as is for now. I can put discs on it later, or I may swap the whole rear end. Time will tell. Cheers!
