"Home Sweet Home" - Motley Crue Guitar Lesson

- “Home Sweet Home” by Motley Crue is considered to be one of the greatest power ballads of all time. In this guitar lesson, we’ll be learning to play an acoustic version of the iconic song. Since we’ll be playing the piano part on our guitar as well, you should be prepared to use both strumming and fingerpicking techniques throughout this song.
Many of Motley Crue’s songs were played in D standard tuning; however, we’ll be using E standard tuning here so you don’t need to worry about altering anything on your guitar. As you move through the lesson, you might find a few new chords and shapes, so be sure you download the PDF sheet music to help you follow along.

Hey, me again. 56 yrs without guitar in my instrument bag of tricks.
Getting better. Suffering a "trigger finger" on the left hand. Age man, it's not for the young.
As a keyboardist sorting covers I learned that pop piano composers are lazy and do the simplest changes possible given their hand positions. I tried to apply this to guitar chords and lo and behold the more complex sevenths, ninths, inversions and suspends came naturally trying to simplify chord changes.
Wish I did this 40 yrs ago. Foolishly, I only had experience with a classical guitar. If I was (going back 40 yrs) Charro or Jose Feliciano, fine, but I wasn't. I wanted to do what Roy Clark could do. Play anything on guitar. I'm dedicated to going there now. Your tutelage inspired that.

Thanks for this. I looked at a couple of others, one simple, one too advanced (all the pieces parts for a band), but this is just right. I have been on an extended trip for work, and I have a month left to learn this and impress my wife when I get home sweet home.

Normally, they're kind of socially inpept due to spending hours a day at the instrument. The really hermit-like ones that do several instruments are even nuttier than that.
You don't have to spend hours, but you're NOT going to just wake up good. Kids learn faster, so don't compare yourself to them.

Really? This was one of the easiest songs i've ever learned. I didn't even need to practice along i just watched the video once picked my guitar up and had it down in less than 5 mins.
