Mick Mars may just be the most underrated guitarist in hard rock history
Russ C., I’m inclined to agree with you!
And Nikki the Most overrated Bass Player
Maybe because he did not have a signature and never really like the spotlight and all idk he is a great guitarist
villegas24, Nikki was never a GREAT bass player in anyone’s eyes. However, I can definitely say (as a bass player myself), he always played the right notes for the song. His brand of bass playing was influenced by Seventies rock, and one can hear how Tom Hamilton, Gene Simmons, and Arthur “Killer” Kane influenced the bass lines Nikki would later add to Mötley Crüe songs.
Metal
I think we can all agree Mick's mid song solo in Home Sweet Home was nothing short of breathtaking
One of my favorite Mars' songs. To bad the rest of it sucks ass.
@@VerbilKint If you mean that the rest of the songs on "Theatre of Pain" sucks I would strongly disagree. "Louder than Hell" is one of my favourite songs with Mötley Crüe. Also there are a few other great songs there besides "Home Sweet Home" that is pretty good for instance "Tonight (We Need a Lover)" and "Fight for your rights".
What made Mick Mars unique was that he was a blues guy...and you can hear that influence in his playing. He's one of my fave players.....phenomenal.
10. All in the name of... (0:11)
9. Sticky Sweet (0:31)
8. Looks that kill (1:03)
7. Wild Side (1:24)
6. Too fast for love (1:47)
5. Saints of Los Angeles (2:39)
4. Shout at the Devil (2:57)
3. Dr Feelgood (3:47)
2. Girls Girls Girls (4:18)
1. Kickstart my Heart (4:33)
Mick was really good at what he did.
Was the perfect guitarist for Motley.
Was? IS.
Mick IS alive and well and now about to release a solo album you bastard.
Is*
WAS the guitarist. Didn't they stop playing live in 2015?
@@jahtherevlimitr3783 They return last year
Mick Mars is a helluva riff writer!
Yes he is, most people have no idea. '94 album was his best work and it's gone mostly unnoticed because Vince wasn't singing. Also, check out the song "Rodeo", Mick's arrangement of acoustic with electric and his understated bluesy solo on that song are just perfect.
*nikki sixx. Nikki is the lyrics and guitar writer and you can pick that up pretty easily from writing credit, his books, and even mars saying he didnt write most of the first 4 albums guitar parts.
Nikki wrote about 80% of all the guitars till feel good. Then it was 70% mars and 30 nikki.
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 and tab/chord books
Didn’t Nikki write most of them?
Crimson Idol your telling me that they could play more then their instrument??? Tommy=drums. Mick=base. Nikki=guitar. Your telling me they played more then there primary instrument
Pretty accurate but where is live wire?
McCreeIsMyDaddy literally just came for that.....
True
Where is live wire
McCreeIsMyDaddy ikr
was about ask the same question
Saw them in concert this summer! Mick was killin it! Hard to believe they’re still shredding after all these years.
Especially with him having arthritis
It’s only Vince who lets them down the rest are still kicking ass 🤘🏻
Hearing girls girls girls always makes me want to buy a '75 Camaro and drift through L.A. with a leather jacket and aviators.
Nah a 1986 Harley softail heritage red and cream same as Nikki Sixx in girls girls girls ride that around Venice beach whistling at blondes while 80s long hair flows
DzOut FoeHarambe ah a man of class I see🤝
Always reminds me of slut showing their cooch for a buck.
@@BAND-MAID-USA lovely mate
Dont forget a blonde mullet
Mick Mars gave Motley Crue musical credibility.
Yeah , he's the most talented member of the band. They probably wouldn't have made it without him.
eh let’s not discredit sixx he is a pretty pertinent and essential tool in the crue arsenal because his songwriting was absolutely top notch
Jake Hawkins i 100% agree. Sixx was and is the heart and soul of Motley Crue. Without Sixx, there IS no crue
@@KennyandJordie without each member there is no Crüe. Just listen to the corabi album or the album with castillo it's totally different (i actually liked motley crue album and new tattoo album btw) they are inseparable
Agreed ! without Mick .. Nikki would of have been lost and had nothing . He couldn't even play the bass right in time in the studio , for their second album . It's documented . All he can really do is write crude lyrics , and that's about it . If you listen to their riffs on their biggest hits ! Dr. Feelgood as an example .. the riff has a chord often used by Hendrix . That's Mick ! coming up with this stuff . And adapting his influences into it . He is the true hero of the band
Where is " Take me to the Top". In my opinion that ´s the definition what a hard rock riff is.
rodrigo silva FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME ITS SO BADASS
Best Motley Crue song
Thank you! The song is easily the most headband worthy of them all
Yeah, right I expected to hear it.
Rodrigo,
And no live wire!!
If you didnt scream "yyyeeeeeeEEEEEEEAAAAAAAaaaaaah!" @4:57 are you really a Crue fan?
Agreed
Aotahi Beach no
I did
@Crimson Idol hole**
Aotahi beach, not yet but now im taking notes
Live wire? Merry go round? Too young to fall in love?
Albert valdez he picked 10... of the hundreds... go make your own video and pick the songs you want.
And 10 seconds to love
Motley Crue had SO many great songs. He had to narrow it down to 10.
Take me to the top >>> all
@@Nightmare200 great choice.
Where the hell is (insert any Mötley Crüe song)!!
Nice top 10:) I'll go and listen to (insert all Mötley Crüe's songs) it's my favourite
I think we all knew what #1 would be. What a monster killer riff. Top 10 in history.
Expected it to be toast of the town… amazing riff
Mick Mars creates fun and memorable riffs ...an under rated guitarist for sure!
Great tones, man. What Kemper profiles you using here?
Right?
joyo extreme metal,dude
Guessed the 5-1 songs but srsly no "Too young to fall in love" - tha'ts one of their best riffs for sure.
Clicked on the video just to hear that riff.
Me too
Me too
Me to :(
@@tomtommy3337 same here lol
I love Mötley Crüe so much I just wanna cry I feel like my heart is bursting with pride those four are just incredible in the story of how a band can just come together like for guys were basically just people nobodies and then together they made this thing it’s alive and I’m emotional
Their story has inspired me throughout my life.
Фильм немного врёт
Been a Motley Crue fan all my life but just watching this video made me realize how many damn hits they had. Crazy!
Perfect
Kan hier de hele dag na luisteren
Prachtige riffs
mick mars is and will remain one of the most underrated guitarists in heavy metal/hard rock history, he's the one who kept the band rolling.
Very well done man. People take those riffs for granted, but they are indeed legendary. Makes me want to learn some of those songs.
Dude nailed these licks! Mick should be proud of writing these iconic riffs and giving these songs a great groove. would have to agree that he is most definitely VERY under rated. Danilo has a slick tone and wicked playing!
Missing Too Young To Fall In Love in your list - in my opinion their best riff.
Bedroom Thrasher yeaa
Maroon Bells Cabin Studios dont play it on your guitar your screwed its hypnotic. I keep playing it louder and louder. When I listen to crue. So do the neighbors
Jesus, you missed Too Young To Fall In Love. Gotta admit, Motley had great hooks; something that is SORELY missing from the arsenal of the plethora of CZcams shredders, as well as modern music in general.
True, and maybe Live Wire too!
Toast of the town!!!!!
First 2 are KILLER riffs that everyone always forgets. Really happy to see All In The Name Of finally get some love.
Wouldve liked seeing toast of the town in there…
I thoroughly enjoyed this because you look like you were having a blast playing it; and because you made it look so fun and easy. Well done Danilo!
I agree. He was KILLING it.
You definitely should do a cover of girls girls girls start to finish. You’re one out of very few who has the tone on point.
I always loved that Dr. Feelgood solo.
Top 10 Def Leppard riffs in honor of their rock and roll hall of fame induction
Hack To Scratch Golf YESSS
Up
YES DEY R ME FAV BAND
Def Leppard is a class act!!! And Motley a bunch of overrated clowns...
Thank you for reminding me why i love this band since they started. Youre a great player man
Mick is truly a great guitarist! Honestly I love his riffs and rhythm playing.
When I was 12 and brought home a $1 album from the bargain bin, a band I'd never heard of, but going by the cover, it wasn't going to be pop, and put it in my Radiogram (yes!), I was blown away! The raw guitar sound was what really caught me, and it was different on every song! I'd bought the original release of Too Fast for Love before it was re-worked, I still crave that sound, the re-release just doesn't quite do it for me.
One of the most underrated guitar players of all times.
before my mind could even think, chills already crept through my spine the instant i heard the opening riff to kickstart my heart. that's how good it is
Os três últimos são os que eu mais gosto, parabéns ótimo trabalho!!!
too young to fall in love
Mick Mars is easily in my top 5 underrated guitar players
I know and he's even disabled and still rocked.
He's in my top 5 of favorite guitar players of all time.
JaquelynChan Are you kidding me? That’s for lyrics, not the riffs. Don’t be ridiculous.
The first I would say
for me he’s in my top 1 no one else just him
You're making me FEELGOOD, doctor ! First time I see someone jamming some Motley Crue like this. Thanks for this good vibration
Mick Mars is criminally underrated. He is an unspoken legend!!
Quality guitar great camera angles to learn from you dude
Spot on
They’ve got soooooo many legendary riffs!
🖤🖤You play so clean that I hear new parts of the songs I never noticed before. CHeers!🖤🖤
Mick Mars is a Master riff maker, every bit as good as Iommi or any other. Shout at the Devil has so many killer riffs. Even their covers, like Smokin' In The Boys Room is a riff that they made all their own. Badass.
00UncommonSense00 Mick Mars is for sure an underrated riff-maker, but every bit as good as Iommi? That’s a bold statement.
Sick dude! Would love to hear full songs covered by you bro 🤘
Top 10 riffs of Helloween
Good video and edit. Mick Mars' riffs are legendary. They are some of the best to make you FEEL something. Makes you bring back memories. Getting pumped just thinking about it.
Really enjoy your posts, Danilo. Great sounds, mix, and presentation.
Grandissimo Dani li aspettavo i riff dei Mötley! È da stamattina che mi sto sparando tutti i loro album. 😂😂
Top five:
5. Shout at the Devil
4 Take me to the Top
3. Girls Girls Girls
2. Kickstart my Heart
1. Live wire
Cade Strickland same
Rattlesnake Shake :)
Now hell ya!! That's some strang bangin right there!!! Glad some one is doing some Crue licks.
Tommy and Mick were the musical powerhouses of Crüe, Vince and Nikki should be happy they were along for the ride.
Most everyone's additional suggestions are from the first album. That is a riff driven album. I agree Kick start my heart for #1.
My favorite riffs from the first 4 albums , live wire, on with the show, too fast for love, looks that kill, too young too fall in love, helter skelter, bastard, city boy blues, keep your eye on the $, girls girls, kick start my heart. ..I could mention many more but those will suit. .lol
So gooooood video! It's just impossible not to say that your guitar sounds awesome...
Awesome! I love the crew so fun to play on guitar such a vibe.
I’m 11 and they are my fav band, I was at a stunt show and the music was girls girls girls and kickstart my heart, that was my favorite part
Let me guess you found out about them from the movie
Starlinyn did you not read his comment 🤦♂️
@@Damguy I did but without knowing them how could he identify the music
@@starlinyn9292 probably his parents, why would an 11-year-old watch that movie
@@Damguy idk maybe
Oh yeah, huge Thanx, after your Van Halen 10 riffs i expected thath highly. Now we need Mr Big 10 riffs and Extreme 10 riffs and Poison 10 riffs.
amazing riffs and writing. love his style and tone.
You motivate me to pick my guitar and exercise! Thank you
I wouldve added primal scream, probably my favorite song from them to blast in my ears with my beats headphones🤘
I was expecting take me to the top but damn amazing vid
The more and more i learn guitar, the more and more i see how easy some of these old songs are. They sound really complex (some of them really are) but most are pretty simple. I love guitar.. Awesome video. Now i want to learn all these. Goodshit 👍
Mick is Motley Crue. It's nothing without his amazing riffs
Riffs made by one the best guitarist of the 80',Mick Marss!Awesome video !
Best guitarist of the 80's? Lmao
@@warrengauthier4699 i meant"one of the best",my bad,sorry
@Proximity Symbol he said ONE of the best..
@@sundigest1121 : I would say good but not one of the best.

Inspired by “The Dirt” huh :3 me too lol
PERFECTION friend...tempos and tone!
NICE job mate..... smooth meshing between licks. 👍
I would have added Too young to fall in love and Take me to the top
Faltou a mais brutal, onde tudo começou... "Live wire". No mais, ficou show, parabéns!
Toast of the town…
Dude you are amazing! RESPECT! ive been a crue head since the 80s. Thanks for making this vid. 😍
4:19 jesus this one is awesome !!!!! And kickstart my heart just after of course
OK, I agree with this one. Almost - Louder Than Hell and Save Our Souls are epic
KICKSTART MY HEART is the best riff that i have ever heard in my life
@Taylor Anderson for real
Kickstart is a great riff indeed! Just not the best. There are so many awesome riffs out there, it would not be possible to choose The Best.
@Taylor Anderson legit
Taylor Anderson the fuck happened to personal preference and opinions?
i apprecite that
One of my favorite guitar player with Malcolm Young and Izzy Stradlin'. His playing has a trademark.
Izzy is so underrated, I kinda hate that slash is getting all the glory even tho I love him so much
@@skyline7245 Slash ad Izzy have got totally a different kind of playing and personality. Izzy was the engine behind GNR music. Slash was the iconic image of band with Axl Rose. I like a lot the Izzy's style. Playing his songs and his part is so funny. Long live Izzy.
@@lunarisalpha i love how they incorporate blues and punk in their music, its so groovy
@@skyline7245 I agree with you.
Splendid Presentation! My Favorite is „Wild Side“,this Songtitle rocks very fast.Because, all Mötley Crüe Rocksongtitles are very beautiful.
I feel like even for the people who really hate their music, you can’t really deny the instrumental talent that tommy and mick had
This quickly reminds me why Mick Mars is my favorite guitarist ,can just feel his work above all the rest.
Great tone! Awesome job.
this guy's killing it... Not only does he get the riffs perfect, but he also puts a floyd rose on a strat. Way to go...
Kickstart My Heart - Hellraiser (Sweet)
Looks That Kill - Young Girls (Dokken)
But still, both are great)
You got the young girls one from watching the live in Berlin 1982 huh?
Omar Hernandez yeah, that one + one of the videos like “top 10 similar songs”
"When i get high, I get high on speed. Top fuel Funny is a drug for me. My heart, my heart, Kickstart my heart"-Mötley Crüe, Kickstart My Heart
We know the lyrics already, so go piss off fake CrüeHead.
@@LtPuff you could just chill. Maybe he is new to motley crue, maybe he just wants to have a little fun and post a joke in the comments to piss people like you off. Go fuck yourself, "fake CrüeHead"

Wow, great production quality. Your videos not only sound great but look great too.
Awesome playing
I feel like Dr. Feelgood as an album is his best feature.
I feel too fast for love was his shining
So essentially Mick played all the leads, all the rhythms, and half the bass!
Awesome job! Thank you!
that was freaking epic! Kickstart definitely #1
"KIckstart my Heart" - proof that death is no impediment to kicking ass onstage.
I always marvel at the fact that Mick came from a country band where he looked like an old guy.
Brilliant editing. Well played
Thank you Mick. For everything ❤️
That Wild Side was killer! That whammy up, pumped me up!!!
You can see the low strings flapping being tuned to down to D... Great vid, though I would swap Saints of LA for Too Young To Fall In Love in a heartbeat
Same. I don’t like that one that much
Kickstart my heart is my favourite riff, idk why, gives me that energy
Good stuff! Keep em coming!
Очень круто🤘чувствуется профессиональный уровень и любовь к музыке👍
Pantera next please!( great vid btw)
Man that was so good, great job
