    Thank goodness for this video, I got my c63s running a full Stage 2 tune with these mechanical bov, I swear on the hardest setting my car would surge on the top end but found this video…. Set them on the softest setting and the car runs way better, the surge went away from what I can tell

      The adjustment will not effect how the valve sounds when it releases pressure. The adjustment is there to assist in how the valve operates. The audible level of the valve is dependent on the amount of pressure your application makes and the size of the orifice the pressure releases out of (Smaller = Louder)

    Can i set it up a tad harder to have flutter under light boost? Would that be a possible thing? Or is it only for idle reference? Thanks

    • @TurbosmartHQ

      Increasing spring tension can induce flutter at lower boost levels but it all really depends on your engine vacuum level.

    I have a Turbosmart Dual Port for my Mazdaspeed3, but it's different. Body has only 1 big sealing o-ring and brass piston have 2 o-rings in the piston's body and 1 in the base. It's an old design Turbosmart? What's the reference here to adjust harder or softer with only 1 o-ring in the bov body?

    i have a sr20det and upgraded the turbo,doing so i needed to use a 300zx maf.i dump bov to atmospere and the car stalls everytime and the fix was recirculating bov but now i have no bov sound at all,i was wondering if i purchase a dual port bov and recirculate AND dunp to atmoshpere if this is best of both worlds or em i stuck forever recirculated because the sensitive maf? i suspect this is why they created the dual port bov?

    • @TurbosmartHQ
      @TurbosmartHQ  Před rokem

      In theory switching to the Dual Port would give you the "best of both worlds." Some cars are more sensitive than others when it comes to partially venting pressure but it will certainly allow the car to operate somewhat normally.

    Hello. I recently bought a vee port pro. I have adjusted all the way soft but I’m still not getting much boost relief. I opened it up and I think it came with a white spring.. is the spring to heavy for my 17lbs of boost ? Thanks. Cheers 🍻

      For BOVs, the springs are rated for Vacuum, rather than boost levels (wastegates are rated on boost). • @TurbosmartHQ

      The pressure is either recirculated to the intake system prior to the compressor (Supercharger) or vented to the atmosphere if you are tuned for that.

      @@caycebennett8667 The window for optimal performance can be very wide on an application. It is very well possible that the factory setting is just fine for your vehicle and adjusting it to the hardest setting may make little to no difference. In many scenario, you just want to verify that the valve is holding shut under full load and releases pressure properly.

      You can install a blowoff valve on pretty much turbo car. I would do some research on blowoff valves to fit your specific vehicle. If it comes with a diverter valve from the factory chances are there is a turbosmart blowoff valve available l

      @@tardis4125 if your spring tension is too soft the piston in the bov will not close in time before idle which will cause your car to drop below idle rpms and even stall. Basically if the spring setting is too soft you absolutely can have a car stall from a bov. At idle the car runs off a closed circulating system, so the bov piston needs to be closed before reaching idle rpms

    I have these on my w117 cla180 amgline 2017. Im no expert about cars. this is my first car though. Does anyone know why is my BOV not working? I bought the correct model etc. Had them installed and tuned my car too. 1 month later, my dashboard engine light came up. After having it checked, i had to removed them and the dashboard engine light went off. Can someone advice me, is it because the engine is is not compatible using BOV, instead, only can use diverter valve? Some says that BOV makes my car lose power too. Right now im not using bov or diverter valve. find it wasted not to use what i already bought. But i dont mind if i need to use only diverter valve. As long as i get the correct advise to follow.

    • @demover7
      @demover7 Před 2 lety +1

      You aren't really changing the sound of the blow off by tightening or loosening the spring you are more changing when the blow off will happen. Its important to make sure you have it at the right tension or you will either create a boost leak meaning you lose power or you create surge which doesn't vent air smoothly when it needs to smacking it into the turbo which is bad for it.

    • @fgtrhwu2
      @fgtrhwu2 Před 2 lety

      @@demover7 Really? I thought if you make into a diverter valve it will reduce the sound as less air is being vented

    • @demover7
      @demover7 Před 2 lety +1

      @@fgtrhwu2 Well there is a difference between a diverter and blow off valve. A blow off valve vents compressed air to atmosphere while the diverter valve takes that same air and recirculates it back into the intake. The question i was answering was weather or not soft vs hard setting on the blow off will cause the pshhh sound. When it vents it vents. It will have basically the same sound no matter what.
