I don't know really... I've never seen John goin "wild" in the same sense of the word as Freddie. I also learnt that John took Freddie's death very hard, so I believe he was more voulnerable.

Michael Asquith I don’t know if I’d consider May and Taylor legendary singers. They were great, but they weren’t on par with the likes of Freddie Mercury or Robert Plant.

I think John loved writing songs for Freddie. To hear your song being sung by that Voice- I feel swelled John with such pride.
Queen are simply the best band ever. John Deacon is a remarkable man.
His voice is certainly different from the others, but there's nothing wrong with that. I always thought he sang backup on the recordings but maybe not now. It would have looked quite silly not having him faking it in some of the videos like BR, I Want it All, Headlong, and some others.

He would have in a normal band. But Brian May and Roger Taylor were almost as strong a vocalist as Freddy Mercury. They're both incredible singers.

John did it his way. Wrote amazing songs, had a dozen kids and a family and took his toys and went home when he was done. Was a vital member of Queen, as they all were.

deaky's voice is ideal for backing. it's not overpowering, but gives each verse just that little bit of strength it needs.

What happened was that queen was performing in Milan in 1984. There was an issue with the microphones that caused John's microphone to be louder than everybody else's. Whoever made this "Mistake" with the microphones. BLESS THEM❤

John Deacon never sang on a Queen recording. However, having seen Queen live in 1978 I can definitely testify that he sang on Keep Yourself Alive, Tie Your Mother Down, Somebody to Love, and possibly others. He sang on Liar although they didn't play that song when I saw them. And possibly In the Lap of the Gods. All live on stage, just not on the studio recordings.

He's not bad, not like he always claimed to be. I mean, I think if he were actually in a controlled studio environment, rather than the hyped up atmosphere of performing live, he could actually do a decent job. I think he underestimated himself, as well as let himself feel intimidated by big voices like Freddie's and Roger's. But, I also understand and respect his choice not to sing any lead vocals. It can be scary.
