3:10 that posture made me laugh for 2 straight minutes 😂
J. K. 😂😂😂
Yeah 😂😂. I wonder why he didn't just stand somewhere where the ceiling was higher
Allen Richards He was waiting to go down the stairs
Sometimes I think they had it right with the spiral staircase
J. K. It’s a bit scary these people are responsible for our safety but don’t have the common sense to move somewhere where they don’t look so stupid like that? 😂
The 747 will always be my favorite. She started my love for flying. She inspired me to see the world. Timeless classic. And no, the 777, 787, A350 will never have the same impact on my life as the 747 has had.
BA’s new A350s look great but nothing beats flying on the upper deck of a 747!
Hi NYC Flyer!
@@Aviatial Hello my friend!
Agreed👍👍
NYC Flyer very true. The 747 “Bubble” is the pinnacle of flying
Jay Deshpande agreed! It’s so sad to see them being retired
Seat 62K on a BA747 was my fave spot throughout all my years of business travel. Never had a problem sleeping there - I remember one trip to HKG, I spent 24 of the 25 hours on board fast asleep...
I used to regularly fly Club World upstairs on the 747 on the BA London - Boston Logan Route in the 1990s. And previously of course there was the upstairs Business Class Bar for Snacks and Drinks during the flight! Great Memories! I also used to enjoy the occasional long "Direct" BA London to Buenos Aires with stopover in Sao Paulo (several meals in Business Class!) before they went "properly direct" a few years later!
BA 747 is one of the best planes to fly on especially when you seated on the upper deck
Totally agree, when you enter the cabin of a BA flight heading home you are already there once you step onboard, a great feeling indeed.
Nice one - good luck with 100k Noel (: well deserved :)
@Noelphillips You are by far my favorite airline / travel vlogger. Keep it up! Awesome!
Very good video Noel. I wonder if your wife and kids miss you sometimes given that you are traveling almost every day of the year. Your two children must be so proud of you. Having a dad which has like the coolest job in the world. I think that you really stand out for them because you do not have a job in an office. You have the job In the Sky!!!
Ps. I love your content and it helps me understand a lot about how airlines work. I also love the fact that you go in depth with the history behind the airline. That is great. One final thing. I also love the way you exprese yourself.
Keep up the great work.
(From the UK)
Thanks so much :) Glad you the videos. It’s tough sometimes being away from the family but I’m away a lot less than I was when I worked in IT, and it’s a lot less stressful!
@@noelphilips yes get you. But in my opinion flying and reviewing flights it's way cooler. It all depends on what you really want to . What motivation you have.
One question: when did your first start with this channel??
Awesome vid as always and wow you're almost at 100k😍
Love your vids Noel. Keep up the great content! Safe travels.
I would love to fly on a 747 like this - tbh that upstairs club world looks so private, you could imagine flying from London to New York or LA on a business trip, knowing you could get some good shut eye on the plane, so you're all ready when you arrive - awesome
Another great video Noel with an unbeaten upload rate!
Love the upper deck of the the BA 744. Window seats, despite facing backwards, are most private. I choose 63K whenever available. Exit row i 62A or 62K are always booked.
Awesome flight. Flew upper deck with Virgin Atlantic from Manchester to Atlanta, back in September. Great experience . Thanks for sharing Noel.
Brilliant video, I enjoy all your videos Noel cheers
Great video. I always enjoy BA, when it works for my routes.
Love your videos, so relaxing to watch.
This guy sleeps on jets more than I can sleep in my bed at home 😂
I guess I am pretty randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released series online?
@@henrydarian285 yes I do
I was just in bed thinking the same thing trying to sleep. He is flying backwards though.
I was working for BA when the new club seats made an appearance and personally have always enjoyed them. They where as you said revolutionary when they first made an appearance
00:50 Airbus A340-600 South African Airways. What a beautiful bird, what a beautiful livery. Can't wait to see you flying long haul flight with SAA ;)
Love the vids keep up the good work
That first class looking cool great vids keep them coming
Nice video as always
You’ve officially become my favorite travel reviewer.
Awesome video love the new logo 👍👍👍
Lots of happy memories of flights in Club upstairs on the 747. The intimate nature of the cabin certainly overcomes the shortcomings of the old seats.
That BA Lounge in Johannesburg is open 3pm to 10pm so I recently missed it too. I flew in at 9:30am (on BA) and out again at 2pm so I ended up in the Aspire Lounge. I did stick my head in the Shongololo (?) Lounge but got summarily dismissed before I presented my credit card and told the gatekeeper I was just scouting. I was then genuinely invited to enter. The only seemingly interesting thing was an well staffed well stocked omelet station. The interior didn't seem as " fresh " as Aspire but I didn't use the facility so I have no review. The Aspire Lounge was as comfortable and clean as any Airport Lounge I visited except Chase Sapphire in Hong Kong which is an unforgettable experience.
I’ve travelled upper deck on BA747-400 a couple of times and agree it’s a nice place to be. I go back far enough to remember Super VC10 and L1011 Tristar
Great review again thanks Noel. That looked a great spot to watch planes at the start of your vlog. Reminds me of the days long ago when my dad took me as a little kid to Heathow to watch planes from the viewing area on top of one of the terminals! I have no idea which terminal it was does anyone remember but I loved it as a kid. Sad that it's no longer there. The closest I've found in Europe is the outside seating areas at Hamburg airport which are good for spotting. Sure there are more about still
Go to the runway visitor centre at Manchester airport they have viewing platforms a model plane shop a few old planes a cafe and a Concorde in a hangar it can get busy
@@AVIATIONEUROPE340 cheers for the advice I will try and get up there sometime, thanks
@12:51 BA: you walk down the jet bridge and you're home - I'd absolutely agree!
Nice video man😄
Love the new channel icon!
So glad I had the opportunity to fly up there multiple times and always a backwards window seat. I agree with you on the privacy and flying backwards is the best!
Noel main man repping Baldy! He as you has amazing content!
Wow nice vlog Noel
OK, I am now officially green with envy! And green is not my colour! I am so jealous that you were able to do this long haul upstairs on the queen of the skies. Thanks again for another fantastic post.
Love your new profile picture!
I flew back two days ago on the a380 from joburg and had the exact same check in guy @2:43
Nothing like the wail of 4 x RB211's
That reverse seat gives a great view on take off !! Were your nuts warm ? (sorry) Great vision on Landing at LHR as always. Excellent review thanks Noel as always. Nice Business class and I agree about the seats...very private and comfortable...looking forward to your next report !!
Another great video
Great video as always Noel! Looks like you had good flight in the upper deck! I agree that once the divider is up you have a great and private seat. But during take off and landing it is very odd staring right at a stranger and not very premium at all!
Regards,
Brendan
good video as always
Lovely flight
The only thing I didn’t like about the “bubble” when I was there is that you can’t really get a good view of the engines out of the window. A small price to pay though
I wonder how many hours you've got in the skies Noel! Love the videos.
Maybe you should do a tally at the start if you do know
Paul He referenced in the last video that he hit some milestone flight on that trip (Think 500th), but be curious to see what the actual damage is.
although i dont mind coach to save a few bucks. its quiet up here. plus i like that backwards seat thing. when im flying ill consider this lol. specially for the view and the backwards thing. i am a boeing fan as well as airbus but i like to sit forward of the wing to hear the engines on takeoff. You noel, had imho the perfect seat.
I love the upper deck of the Boeing 747-400
This video makes me so excited cuz I’m flying on Lufthansa 747-8 next summer
When the A340-600 is no longer flying, it'll be a sad day for Aircraft lovers 😭
Looked a really lovely flight. Love the privacy the seat gives but still unsure about the backward seats. Another great video. Think I’d prefer being upstairs to being in the nose.
I flew club world in 2015 at a window seat, the privacy is amazing if you have the divider up,only downside is, if you need to exit your seat you have to climb over the person in the aisle in the row in back of you if they happen to be lying down. otherwise its great..as far as facing backwards, it is no issue whatsoever, the only time you feel like you are moving backwards is when the plane is taxiing on the ground to get to the runway and after landing back to the terminal, and on the takeoff roll, when the plane is in the air it doesn't feel like you are backwards at all.
I miss the 747, especially on the upper deck. Virgin had a configuration of a small economy cabin up there and it was Heaven!
Very interesting, always wondered what it was like upstairs on a 747
Who else watching this in 2021 when that poor plane will be coke cans? 🥺🥺😢
Wdym
@@unwantedheadshotsbigsyt7932 BA 747s have been retired and he’s saying they’ll just be scrap metal by now basically cos they are getting rid of them
Depends on Reg If it was one painted into BA Hertiage Livery that will be preserved
I’ve flown Club World countless times, all over the world, and so often a young ‘influencer’ will run up to club world on landing. They then sit down, or lay down, and have their mate take shots of them, so people think they’ve flown club world. So embarrassing
I hope they do get a ban from flying BA or their partners, cause that is against their TOS im pretty sure
It’s embarrassing anyone aspires to fly what has to be the most pathetic business class seat
Theres worse things in life. For some people flying economy is a treat. Never forget how lucky you are.
seen it multiple times
@@lynnp74 and flying in a 747.
I love flying the queen of the skies. I am very fortunate to have been able to fly club upper deck and down and first class, including seat 1A. I shall be so sad when they retire the last ones. I have to say I much prefer the comfort of this old club seat. It feels bigger, more padded and has lumbar and head rest adjustment, which sadly the new A350 seats do not seem to have - I was actually disappointed with the new club suite seat!
With qantas retiring it's 747s by the end of the year I might jump on a trip to Joburg one of the only routes still served by Qantas 747s
This is an epic video
Not long until 100k now 👏🏽👀
You get added fruit & cheese AND a small bottle of extra virgin olive oil for dipping your bread?!?! Brilliant! I need to fly BE business class upper deck the next chance I get! It's the little things like that that really make a difference!
Good video✈️
Have found your You Tube VLOG, and have picked up some useful tips.
Can I suggest a future VLOG on which airlines you would choose to fly with on a round the world trip, stopovers, and best service providers. The emphasis being on which provides the best service or experience.
Bald and bankrupt!
B&B is setting the new standard for crazyass CZcams travel videos!
He’s awesome
The Boss!!
Why did you go bankrupt
El Vag cars r/woooooooooooooooooossshhhhhhhhhhh my guy
Definitely a product that i want to try one day! Though they do seem to get a lot of negative press those seats!
Thank you. I much prefer business class to first on BA. Upper deck on 747 seat 64 my favorite seat. Being short i dont have to climb over anyone. My key dislike for seat configuration is that!! 👍😁
CZcamsrs intros: what's Poppin guys
Noel: ay am heyah
LOL He should say "I am hyeah, Guv'nah!" and be done with it. One can't get any more British than that! (Guv'nah=Governor= a British synonymous term for Sir).
I did this on Christmas this past year!!
10:22 - a man of immaculate taste I see!
Nice shout out to Baldy 🙂
I was unfortunate to fly on a BA 747 to Las Vegas in Jan 2020, it must be the only aircraft in the fleet that had nlt been updated. The entertainment system broke 10 minutes in to the flight and it was a long 11 hours from there.
The return leg was completley different and was fantastic. Talking to the crew they all seemed to know the aircraft on the outbound flight and were shocked it was still in service
It was amazing to see the upstairs on British Airways. I wouldn't be able to sit backwards on a plane journey. I took my son on a flight from London to Cape Town. He was around 20 months old and I was pregnant with my daughter. Our plane took off five hours late due to fog. My son didn't cry at all and he slept for most of the flight.
I absolutely love watching your flights plus you make me laugh
Don't think there is a place or a plane you HAVNT been to or on
💜🧡💛💚💙
Flying upstairs on the 747 is a really special experience, I did it once with virgin albeit peasant class. They’re still loud though and I couldn’t sleep, guess I need good noise cancelling headphones.
almost 100k subs 😁
Nice to see you watch Mr Bald too
Very few people know about that underground walkway. It's spooky it's only really used by the wheelchair people on their buggies and a few staff. I used to work for BA and used it as a way of getting a bit of peace and quiet for a few minutes.
RB211 engines, in my opinion, is the most beautiful and unique sound in the sky, because it has so much power in the loud “buzzsaw” sound, despite the small size
Great video!!! Thought you came to SA to test SAA's A333 Premium class product to LHR!!
Personally I love BA I've never had any problems cannot fault them
Love BA!
When you are back in SA let me know if you will have a fan meet&greet.
The upper deck on the B747 is my cabin of choice.
Love your reviews, very honest. How may miles do you do in a year, and how do you bear low cost/economy after experiencing club and first ?
i am gonna miss the 747 never got the chace to be one one but it looks amazing
Love the videos but i would love it if you gave a review on the in flight entertainment!!
3:09 I thought his neck was broken
Thx for a new wonderful trip report. You are the best youtuber in traveling. Cheers mate!
Better than Sam?
And now this top deck of this plane is a flight simulator and the rest of the plane scrap! Great video on that, which made me watch this one again, seeing it in its prime!
That looked so good & the food you had is naking my mouth water . A question for you : What happens to the bedding that they supply after the passenger has used it ? . Thank you x
YASSSSS YOU’RE IN GRYFFINDOR!
I have an identity crisis. I support Gryffindor but bear a striking resemblance to Voldemort.
Bald and Bankrupt and Noel Phillips all in one video! I think I fan girled.
what we liked about BA business class old club seats is the double bed in the middle you can make - great for our little family - but I don't like stepping over people and the isle seat is too open to being hit by passerbys
There’s 4 cabins on the 747. I wasn’t a fan of the old Club World favouring the AA J seat for transatlantic hops. Having tried the new Club Suite which I found very claustrophobic and Club World again since August I’m a newly converted fan of old Club World and hope the rollout to the Club Suites is long.
Damn, last time I was there it was still "Jan Smuts" and I do miss Wildebeest Biltong. I can easily find Beef Biltong in The States... but that's it 😕
That viewing deck is my favourite place for planespotting at FAOR. Never flown on BA international, but Club World looks quite nice if I had to! 😊 Have flown domestically on BA/Comair, best legroom in Economy that I've found.
The staff onboard seemed a bit offish to me, or is that a BA thing? Seen friendlier cabin crew on Eastern European airlines.
If you took off from 03L, then you just about flew over my house!
WOW i’ve never seen the upper deck of the 747. It’s so small up there 😂
In 1987, When i was 10 years old I snuck upstairs on on a Tower Air 747-200, looked big then, but as a 10 year old it prob looked bigger than it was:)
Flown premium economy on virgin in upper deck and ba in club as well as main deck club with ba. Personally preferred virgin premium economy in upper deck - slept like a baby! When flew ba club both main and upper, felt terribly hemmed in and like I was in a coffin! But personal preference! Service was astounding!
I would love to travel internationally on one of these suites. The one time I went to Europe was when I was 14 and it was in economy. I remember it being really miserable
