    As with all my gear I take the approach buy once cry once. Being warm comfortable and able to move while hunting is worth the cost. Do you research and make your choice. Thanks for the information The review and your opinion. Shoot straight

      I agree man, it’s always best to get what you really want if you have the money. Otherwise you’ll buy something you won’t like in a year and then end up buy the nicer gear anyway

    Great video….do you have videos on your other subalpine items? Also, is there a matching Sitka backpack? If so, which backpack would you recommend? Also, any thoughts on the “Kelvin” Sitka items? Thanks!!

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 2 lety

      I have videos of the Apex Hoody and Mystery Ranch Pintler, which are both in subalpine. I would highly recommend this pack if you’re doing a backpack hunt where you’ll need to carry your meat back. I have not bought any of the Kelvin items yet

    Have a friend who swears by this jacket. Hunts though out the seasons. I tried the kuiu guide. Not happy. That’s why I’m looking here. The buy once cry once doesn’t always work. These high end outfits describe and say they do a lot more than they really do. That being said my friend says “ I’ve put it thru the test “ so here I’m am

    What pants or bibs did you wear that compliment the jetstream?

    Do you think this jacket with the thin base layer hoody is good for 20-40 degrees and wind?

    Hey so I’m really debating between this and the first lite solitude jacket. What are your thoughts on first lite vs Sitka?

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 2 lety +1

      I haven’t worn first lite before so I wouldn’t be the best person to ask. I hear they have great stuff tho. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong with the jetstream but I’m sure the solitude is legit too.

    with the redesign, I am seeing the older version discounted pretty heavily. Did you try the large tall? I am about 6'2" 170 lbs. I am worried the Large is too short, but the XL would be too baggy for my liking. I wondered if the tall was the middle ground as I can find those new still

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 2 lety +1

      I am 6’ 185lb and the XL is a bit baggy but that’s how I like it so i can layer if needed. If you’re not a fan of that, I think the L tall would be a great option, I just have never tried it honestly. But you’re a bit taller so it sounds like it’d work well.

    Would you use this to hunt turkey in say 40 degree weather? Our Temps are typically 40-60. 40 first thing in the morning and then warms to 60 as the day goes. My plan was to wear this with a light hoody underneath. It is warms, take this off and go hoody only. Is this too warm for that

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 3 lety

      I think your plan is spot-on. The jacket is great for 40-degree weather so long as you have some layers on underneath. Then when the temps get up higher towards 60, just take it off and the hoody will be plenty.

    Do you think the outside material could take a vinyl logo decal on it? Trying to get these for the small business but need to be able to throw the company logo on it?

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 2 lety

      I think you’d be able to but I am definitely not an expert. I wouldn’t take my word for it lol

    Whats different between the Jetstream and the Timberline jackets?

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před 3 lety

      I have not worn the timberline jacket so I’m not exactly sure. I checked out their site and it looks like they discontinued it. However, I looked it up online and it looks like the Timberline was just a lighter version, somewhere in between the Mountain jacket and Jetstream jacket

    Just a thought, I am looking at these videos to see if I should buy these clothing items. Has anyone made a video that we should not buy the Sitka, I cant find any. Just sayin

    • @huntpeak361
      @huntpeak361  Před rokem

      I’m a big believer in buying what you really want one time so you don’t get something you are indifferent about and then end up buying the better option later anyway. I don’t really have any complaints with Sitka except if you’re counting weight very carefully on intense hunts with tons of backpacking and walking/hiking. If you’re doing this, I’d recommend Kuiu as it’s much lighter and also really great gear

  • @cplaw3

    Buy once cry once. I own a lot of sitka gear now and I've owned a lot of the cheapo stuff in the past...sitka is worth the money...period.

      Yup I agree, I have many bins full of redhead and other inferior Camo that I’ll never wear again. I just save it for my kids and let new hunters borrow it
