    You are right, the bibs are awesome. Best Sitka investment I've made yet.

    Agree 100%, I got them on the 40% deal and the jacket was well worth it for that. The camo is lighter than I’d prefer and it needs pit zips, I almost went with the Jetstream for that reason but guys said the Jetstream gets loud when it gets cold out and the stratus stays quiet

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 6 měsíci

      I have the Jetstream vest and it’s great for the early part of the season but it is super thin. I don’t know how they rate it higher than the stratus vest for warmth. I think you made the right choice.

    Nice review , I am on the fence with the pants and the bibs. I love the versatility of bibs, but my thoughts are, if I get the pants, I could always layer with merino bottoms, and when the temps dip lower, I would put on my fanatic bibs on top of the pants. Where as if I had the stratus bibs, it may be a little more awkward putting the fanatic bibs over the stratus bibs. As for the stratus jacket, when the temperature drops, a merino base layer with the fanatic hoody and a heated vest under the Stratus jacket you are golden.

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 4 měsíci +1

      With that setup, I agree the pants would be good versus the bibs. The only thing you are missing is the ability to dump heat as the pants don't have zip vents. Thanks!

      I appreciate it. Yes, the Subalpine just didn’t print right on the Stratus and the Elevated II is better for tree stand hunting anyway.

      @@theeverydaybowhunter What do you mean by didnt print right?

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 3 měsíci

      @@MacD2029 The subalpine print on the Stratus is very light in comparison to what you find on most of Sitka's other products that use it. It lacked the detail I expected. Its not terrible, I just think it could have been better.

    I bought the stratus jacket instead of the fanatic jacket because of the hood. And went out in 18 degree weather and got cold after two hours. I had the equinox jacket fanatic hoody Apex jacket and 150 weight merino wool baselayer on. It’s a great windblocker but you will need a good insulation piece underneath it.

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 5 měsíci

      The Stratus is a 30-50 degree jacket. It’s not built for that kind of weather. As you already know it’s pretty thin and requires a lot of additional layers.
      The Fanatic is built for extreme cold weather and would have been way better for those temps. That’s a lot of layers lol.

    I can only find the Stratus in Optifade Elevated ll. I wonder if they'll have more patterns this summer.

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 6 měsíci

      They had the subalpine version on sale at 40% off and it is no longer available on their website. I think they know they screwed up with it.
      I’m still going to use mine because I know it’s still good for hunting considering deer vision. I don’t know if they’ll add anymore colors.

    Why is the pants online in subalpine but not the jacket? Hate how sitka does this.

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 6 měsíci

      They are trying to sell out of the Subalpine and must have sold out of the jackets before the pants. That’s why they are only $185 right now versus Elevated II being full price.

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 6 měsíci

      If you look at Scheels or Black Ovis you might find the jacket there at the sale price.

    Would you recommend the subalpine at 40% off even with the bad camo printing?

    • @theeverydaybowhunter
      @theeverydaybowhunter  Před 3 měsíci

      At 40% off, if it matches the environment you are hunting in, then yes. You just don't want to contrast with your hunting environment and stand out like a sore thumb to save money.
