I gotta say, the ambiant hoody (lighter weight than the ambiant jacket) is my favorite piece of new gear. Great for the chilly morning going to the stand and not overheating. Wore it on several AT section hikes over the winter and it was clutch.

You want great odds on an elk hunt? Hunt over the counter bull elk tags along the coast closer to Astoria/Warrenton/ Cannon beach/ Seaside/ and junction 53! I have not been back in a while, but was very rare to go without filling out a tag. Last time I hunted there, I had moved out of state like Meer months after buying my elk tag. So negotiated a week off flew in and my brother picked me up and hunted with him shot my biggest elk ever.

Merino is very quiet but I've got buddies who run Sitka and it's very noisy. You can hear them walking 20 yards away. I can't imagine how far a deer or elk could hear them. That is just my opinion.

It looks like they just took a lot of the first lite designs and just copied the structure and kind of added a few pockets or something merino has been first lites go to for a long time
One thing I HATE about Sitka is how their pants don’t often match their jackets in color, even when they’re the same pattern. I wish they would figure that out

definitely thinking the same thing. I usually live by the buy once cry once philosophy... just get one really nice piece every now and then, until you have a good setup, but throughout the video my brain was just going "ka-ching $ ka-ching $ ka-ching $$$ " XD. i am a little jealous tho lol LOVE sitka stuff. so nice
@@jojo67c I hear ya when talking about by once and cry once, but man that a ton of cash for clothing. I dont want to sound like a brand basher, but I usually hunt from a ground blind. Sometimes from a tree. I have used my "clean" pair of Carhartt work gear for years. I can see the advantages of hunting out west where there is a lot of movement. It's just a ton of money for a guy like me.
