- In this video we review 5 woodworking tips for your drill press.
The Drill Press is often and after-thought tool, but once you get one you can't imagine living without, but it's the one tool where accessories can really make a difference in your drilling, like drill press vice, sanding drums, a set of forstner bits, brad tipped drill bits, twist bit drill bits and so on and to make them all quicker and easier to use, I have adapted my drill press area more convenient to use them these drills.

I simply love the guy. I think he's one of the most honest woodworkers (ie not commercially oriented) on YT. Straight and forward tips and I've learned a lot from him. Please keep them coming, Colin, good work there. PS: the plate tip was a WOW moment for me.
Thank you for the great comment and thanks for watching!
I love the end drilling idea. I made the squaring blocks you discussed several months ago and now they have another use. Love your videos, thank you from Minnesota

Thanks Colin - as always appreciating your friendly sharing of tips. I have noticed other folks offering amazon affiliate links and don't know if you use them but it can be handy when you know a good product and want to recommend like the magnets in this video. Thanks again!
Great shop upgrades!! Thanks!
Colin, you have the most incredible ideas for drill press guys, like me. As a matter of fact, I just came in from my laundry/wood shop after using the drill press. I just ran back out and put your magnet and pie-plate trick to work. Tomorrow I'll dig out my large, right-angle "squares" and matching clamps and keep them nearby. Still looking for a good machinist's vise. Looking forward to catching up on your other videos. Thanks a million.
Excellent tips! I love watching your videos (or 'tutorials') Cheers
Great tips Colin. Love the sanding block idea.
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can give me

Wow!! Great Tips!!!
Все идеи хороши и просты. Спасибо вам огромное!
thank you. I want a drill press so much always have. One day I will get one. Your tips will come in very handy.
Brilliant Tips once again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
I have a Delta table model drill press inherited from my father in law. It was built in the 1950's in Milwaukee and has a single handle to raise and lower the spinning tool.
They knew back then that a single handle was sufficient.
Very useful tips. Thanks!
Your hack for the drill key is a good idea. I solved the problem in a different way.. I have a ratchet drill key attached to a three foot fine chain,( so it never walks away!). It always sits on the side of the bench. After I tighten the drill chuck, I immediately set the ratchet to the off position so it is ready to remove the drill bit when I am finished.
thanks for the video!
Nice tips, think I will be using many of them in my shop now.
Dude...your are a genius. I love your videos.
Useful tips. Many Thanks
Just the part about removing the lever bars was worth the watch, let alone the drum sanding platform, etc.! Great video. :-)
Using the one bar is genius. Did that on mine and love it. One of those why didn't I think of that Things. Thanks
Awesome !
Cool tips. I like the end grain holder. I need to make a couple of those.
Good tips. Thank you.
Great tips, thanks
Thanks bub
Love your tips
Thanks for the tips.
These are very helpful tips. Thanks for sharing
Great...
As usual ...
Thanks.
really helpful thank you
Great tips. Thanks for sharing.
I have a small magnetic dish on top of the drill press. There I keep my drill chuck and the screws for the vice. The vice itself I leave on the moveable platform or at the foot of the
drill press. That dust dish will come in very handy.
Great tips as alwsys Colin thanks.
This is great. Lots of tips
Thanks for that, some really good tips on using a drill press. The last is not my cup of tea, prefer the broom to the risk of putting my drill bits through a pie plate, but I learned something new today, so it is all good.
Some great tips here! I plug my drill press into a foot switch to turn it off and on with my foot. Then should the drill jam i can easily turn it off and free up the drill without letting go of the vise or piece i"m drilling. For very little money it make the drill press much safer! Thanks for your great tips.
One of my favourite channels!
Great ideas thank you.
love your giggle man
These are great tips. ❤❤
Great tips always!! Thanks for sharing : )

I love it.
I like your hacks and chuckle!
awesome tip just what i was looking for! i was looking for a bar solution bc they do get in the way! didnt know they used to be wheels. Thanks taking my 2 extra bars off now! :)
I removed two of the arms from my drill press today and it is so much better! Many thanks for sharing this great idea. Also like the end drilling hack - must try that soon..
Mike Peacoc
Can't thank you enough. Now the drill is like a whole new tool.
Form a fellow drill press lover....good tips...from down under.
the single handle and pie plate I will surely start using, thanks again
My wife found me an old Chicago electric today for $20 at a thrift store. Sweet tip about using the sanding pucks on a that plane! Thank you!

Now there's some really great tips. I especially like the "take off the levers" idea. The magnets to hold the chuck key too. I think I can get them out from an old, discarded stereo. Thank you again.

Thanks for the hacks. My drill press lives in the center of my home shop. It gets more use than all the rest of the shop combined.
Great stuff.
I've been a long time subscriber Colin, and only recently with these "hacks" videos you've started making and sharing, started pushing my finger to the like button.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all your videos. I guess that it's just these recent ones, that stroke my inner lazy guy enough to get me to like them 😁
Thank you Colin. Please keep sharing these tips and tricks 😉👍
Thank You Isa and thanks for watching!
colin, you get better my friend, great tips as usual, thanks for posting, from Garry in the UK
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Very interesting, yes helpful hints, I never thought of that
Thanks for watching!
Those were good ideas, Colin...thanks. I was changing blades on my table saw one day and the bolt slipped out of my hand and seemingly disappeared into the twilight zone. I finally found it and I immediately sprayed it orange ( it's what I had on hand...fluorescent orange or yellow would be even brighter ), and now if I drop it, I can quickly find it. I need to do it to my drill chuck too 'cause I've been known to lay it on my work table while I drill something and have it get hidden behind a piece of wood or something and it takes a few seconds to see it. And yes on wheels..!!
If your pies are as big as would fit on that plate, it explains why you have some extra padding around your middle! All in good fun! Love your channel and really do appreciate your drill press tips. Intend to incorporate several in my shop.
Good hacks colin! I like the idea of unscrewing 2 of the levers I have that same problem and it's so annoying I like the sanding table, and clamping jig definitley doing both of those.. thanks for aharing ur ideas man!
Love your video
