We are booked on Magic 10/31/21-11/6/21 and are so excited! My best friend and I are celebrating our DIVORCES!!

So how was it?
A tip about the not so cold fridge is to open the cupboard door and leave it open. This will allow the fridge to draw air from the room and not just from a warm little cupboard space.
Medical box…lol. Fist day I removed the cabinet door to the refrigerator (depressing two small tabs on hinges) and stored under bed. Fridge stayed stayed nicely cold the whole trip. Also when we were out of the room I would direct our fan (brought ourselves) to the fridge area to circulate air. Worked great. Keep the door on the cabinet closed and it will never cool to 40 degrees.

We had a problem last March on the Breeze with our refrigerator not getting cold enough. What we did, was go old school. We turned it into an ice box! Lol! We had our room steward fill our ice bucket twice a day, then we put the ice in a small soft cooler bag, leaving the top open, and placing it in the refrigerator. Everything was icy cold doing that.

For me, the fan is a lifesaver. Grab that from your room steward as soon as possible.

Lol! #lazy And Cindy.... you seriously need to cruise one day. You know Jen is on a Disney Cruise. I’d love to do one of those someday soon, too.

Only addition is to strongly consider a balcony because those fans are useless without A/C assistance
You are so right about a balcony. I was without the hubs on this trip, and solo, so I went with a more budget minded interior cabin. That dang medical box...hahahahaha!
We were on the Magic mid Sept. Your tips were spot on. I'd heard that if you keep the cabinet door that contains the frig a tad ajar, it helps make the frig run cold. Something about airflow? We tucked a cloth at the top to keep the wooden door open and our pop stayed really cold.
Hey Sandra! How weird is it that I really like to say your name 'Sandra' just because it's my name, too? SUPER weird! Thank you for the tips about the refrigerator...my next cruise is in February and I'd sure like to change that 'medical box' into a cold 'refrigerator'. Lol!

This video is from a while back, but your story about the "medical box" made me chuckle. We cruised on the Conquest a few weeks ago and were disappointed our beverages were room temperature. A call to the room steward led to his rushing off to find a replacement. That did the trick. No mention of our having a medical box. Sounds preposterous.

Do you remember what floors the laundry rooms are on? I always bring my pods for the washer. Oh, you can get free samples of fabric softener in the kiosk machine at Sam's, then bring a few dryer sheets in a ziploc. I hate going home with so many dirty clothes.
Hi Karen! I thought I put it in my video but I guess I didn't...sorry about that:(. I googled it and the launderettes are on decks 2, 7 and 10. Great question! And great tip about the fabric softeners, too:).

keep the door to the cabinet propped open and the fridge stays colder, the fridge had little room to breathe in that tight cabinet

Our fridge didnt get cold on liberty and my son had to have special milk so we kept the cabinet door open and it made it cold. The stewards kept closing it when they would come in to clean

According to carnival website on what you are allowed to bring, a small is allowed for you to bring on board. I can't wait to be on the Carnival Magic next Month!!

Odd about the wifi. I haven't had any real problems. I did have to get customer service to log me back in once. I was even able to call though messenger. We will see what happens

Thanks for the tips, Sandra! We'll be boarding the Magic Feb 29 and are looking forward to fun times! My favorite tip was about the classes, etc for the Fitness Center! Didn't know there were freebies to be had there. My honey and I will be just down the hall from there, so might want to add a few of those into our itinerary. First trip on Carnival, so it'll be interesting.

"Medical Box" - Carnival specific term meaning "broken refrigerator "
Tyler Durden Lol! I know, right?!?! I got lots of good suggestions about propping open the cabinet door and it worked on my last cruise. I can’t be certain that the first frig wasn’t just ‘broken’ but I’ll be propping open the cabinet first before reaching out to guest services from now on👍🏼
How are the cabins on outlets? We have phones, the fan, flat irons, etc. Should I bring an extension cord?

Hey there! The outlets are sparse...very sparse. I bring a multi usb tower since most of my devices use a usb. However, when I want to use my curling iron I have to unplug it. I tend to go with the philosophy of #cruisehairdon'tcare kind of attitude so it isn't that big a deal to unplug and plug once a day:)

Putting your dishes in the hall is actually not what you’re supposed to do. You have guests with scooters and elderly that need the space
Shawn Brandt Hey Shawn! That’s a very good point! I hadn’t thought of that but you’re right. I was just thinking it was unsightly so I never did it. But when I asked my room steward and guest services they said they’d prefer us to put stuff in the hall. Did you specifically ask someone? I’m just curious why they would tell me that even though what you are saying makes sense🤷🏻♀️. Thanks for commenting... I love to travel talk🤪

wamblue Hello wamblue! A ‘tips’ video whole purpose is to help other travelers. I’m sorry you didn’t find value in mine. Given that everyone is different I’m sure not “everyone” would enjoy taking pictures, sharing vids and tips. I do🤷🏻♀️. I’d agree that a lot of people seem to be glued to their phones and internet a lot these days but I’d probably never tell anyone to put their phone away. I prefer to be positive and stay in my own lane😁. Happy Travels!
