    I snapped a screenshot with a great example of the problem with the Az-1.
    But I can't figure out how to send you a photo :D
    I'd appreciate it very much if you would look at the footage in my night video. it's very short. In the middle of the video there is a clip where it is extremely visible
    I hope you'll get back to me and tell me if you do or don't know, whether the as-50 has this problem. I'm considering buying it but can't until i know :)

    I have a question! ?
    I bought the az-1 for its great lowlight performance. I was going to use it as a rear-facing cam on my motorcycle.
    But the waterproof housing is made so that the camera is recessed inside, leaving enough space between the actual cameras lens and the inside rim of the waterproof housings lens.
    This means that any light hitting the camera at night will light up the interior of the waterproof housing, which gets reflected onto the inside of the lens and ends up looking like a big birght vignette ring.
    Is the hdr as-50 also designed in that manner?
    If you took a look at my latest vdeo (i have only uploaded 2) you can see what I mean even though i picked the least bad scenes.
    This is a total dealbraker for me.

    Mark. I am ver interested in the HDR-AS50, but audio quality is very important to me and I'm very dissapointed by the audio quality. Do you know if you can purchase and use the AS50 remote with the HDR- AZ1? Do you think the GoPro hero 4 silver audio quality in a case is better? I want live view without a phone, protection from the elements, and great audio quality. Something I can use as a family camcorder, and also in the outdoors. Thanks so much!

    Can these 2 cameras be used with the same remote? I already have one AZ1 and want to buy a 2nd camera and remote to start recording at the same time. FYI: for motorcycle trackdays or mountain sections, one filming the road in front of me, the other one filming me from behind. I don't go to competitions to warrant a 3rd "what's happening behind me" shot.

    • @MarkHawkCam
      @MarkHawkCam  Před 8 lety

      Yes, there is a way to control multiple cameras of different sony types. It's limited but possible with these two models. Should be a problem with AS100 and newer.

It has Protunes and i thought it was there for getting a higher Bitrate out of my camera but when i look at the bitrate it is exactly the same number.. but it's definatly turned on :S ist it an issue with the camera or am i doing something wrong? :/

    The AZ1 does have a slight bigger sensor (11.9), than the AS50 (11.1), according to the official website.
    And the lowlight scenes did seem better, for the AZ1, because of that.

    Looking to get an action cam, would the AS50r be a good purchase over the FDR- X1000V? I prefer the 4k, but hoping Sony may release an update to that action camera and wouldn't want to dish out that cash with that in mind.

    • @MarkHawkCam
      @MarkHawkCam  Před 8 lety

      Not sure what Sony's plans are. Going to try and hit up an expo this weekend an ask myself. Personally I like the X1000 but it's bulky and limited by somethings that make the AS50 a more appealing camera to use even if it isn't as sharp. Really like the Ui , battery life, added features, and size over the X1000V's sharper image quality.
      Personally would invest in the AS50 and upgrade later on if you liked the Sony line and they decide to do another 4k version.

      +Popoche From a video perspective they are almost identical. The AS50 is more practical with touch controls, nice UI, small features added (bluetooth/field of view), and better timelapse options. The AZ1 is splash proof, smaller, better audio options (external mic, sound through case), and some better slow motion options.

      You could be trying to play off the card instead of bringing the footage to your local drive. You might also be missing a codec. Try installing Sony's Action Cam editor. It'll add a codec to your machine for better playback with XAVC-S footage.
