- In this video I finish adding all the details to my scratch built factory, Deansbury Works. A small outbuilding with a tiled roof is also constructed and added. LED lights are fitted to the interior and exterior. The building is low relief and forms part of the backscene of my OO Gauge model railway layout. Great Detailing! Im just embarking on layout mk2 and my aim is to scratch build as much as I can so this was really helpful. The mention of a very sharp blade followed by the big bandage at @5.30 made me laugh and Im sure we can all relate to that! :-)

A great looking model, Liam. I've found that using ordinary, aluminium baking foil makes a convincing lead flashing. You can leave it unpainted to represent new lead, or give it a grey wash to create the impression of age. It also seems to have that "folded" quality you see with flashing which is difficult to replicate using anything else. Thank you for posting and stay well.
Many Thanks for the nice feedback Paul. I have used tin foil on some of the other builds, in my first video I showed my terrace houses which I used tin foil. It was a while ago I did these and I found it difficult to stick using PVA - what glue did you use? I agree it does give a great finish. Take care
@@deansburytownmodelrailway5056 Hi Liam, I tend to use a dab or two of CA (superglue) when using tinfoil flashing, especially when the foil is slightly crumpled, which helps with the adhesion, but I have used UHU before now - the join isn't going to be under much stress and the foil tends to "flatten" itself to the model anyway.
Hi Liam - That was very interesting mate. Loved the Deansbury Works build, very impressive, makes me want to crack on with mine.
Really enjoyed the roofing section, very realistic. I personally would love to see every build shown in this way, so instructive and very helpful.
Your layout is going to be extremely impressive when finished.

Cheers Chris, thanks for the nice feedback! I think I had dressings on 2 different fingers during the course of this video! The worst was partially modelling related on my left finger, foolishly trying to open a blister pack with a scalpel. Needless to say, I lost...

@@chrisderby986 you are correct! It it still quite numb after 6 weeks! One of the moments where you know it’s wrong but think it will be ok. It wasn’t.
