I liked the little back story into Marty's childhood. It really foreshadowed why he was so determined to be financially stable and independent. Would like more background on Marty's childhood next season.
It paralleled his current situation (that no matter how much money he "puts in," aka lauder money for Navarro, the game is rigged and it will never be enough).

Such a powerful scene at the hospital. For me, Marty losing his father at such a young age, he was willing to say or do anything to stay alive and protect his family.
Probably because he’s playing video games downstairs while his father is upstairs dying in a hospital room. His mother probably didn’t work so losing the bread winner in the family, while Marty is spouting off about the only way you can win a video game is by spending more money, is a recipe for disaster.
