@tvclipzneditz Wendy is my absolute favorite, along with Charlotte. They live in the real world and actually grasp how it works. It was also clear how the writers loved writing her because she has some of the most clever and brutally truthful lines. Like how Jonah mentioned "people will find out where the money came from" to where Wendy replied, "You need to grow up. This is America. People don't care where your money came from..." Then, when Marty was chastising her for cutting Jonah's power in the basement, she replied, "What, you want me to beg for his approval like you? ... I tried to make peace. He spit on my face." God! I love her. She says what's her on mind, and actually have the SPINE to back it up.
The most powerful aspect of this scene is the way Wendy startles Darlene as she gets up in her face. Up until now, the viewer has seen Darlene as this imperturbable monster. Watching Wendy scare Darlene right before she goes into cardiac arrest shows just how menacing Wendy has truly become.
I saw this scene and immediately thought of the scene in breaking bad where walter watched jane choke to death. I was dead ass like “this is wendy’s ‘i watched jane die’ scene”
That is what I immediately thought of too, and that's because that is where Ozark got the idea. Hell, the whole show is an imitation Breaking Bad and not nearly as good. Wendy is so terrible, but not as bad as Walt. Close though.
This scene is the very definition of "keeping the same energy" lmao. Darlene was talking that big tough shit, but the minute Wendy took 2 steps towards her Darlene melted 🤣. Amazing scene and it shows the difference between Marty and Wendy also, Wendy is willing to go there while Marty is trying everything he can to just talk things out and avoid any physical conflict.
Love the look of shock on Darlene's face. She really had no idea Wendy could be this cold. Especially the way she just sat down and enjoyed it she could have just gone back in but no she looks her dead in the eye with the most evil smile ever
I honestly think Wendy does not want to leave the cartel. She enjoys the power too much. Marty saving her life in season 1 episode 1 will prove to be his biggest mistake. In my opinion.
i think the dynamic between darlene and wendy was weird and they try to force wendy to be evil especially in this situation. darlene has murdered 3 men with a shotgun, poisoned her husband, cut a baby out and killed a pregnant wife, gave a lethal injection dose but wendy scares her??😂😂
Wendy works for people far more powerful than her. All of Darlene's scary nature is worth nothing when someone like Wendy took her land, convinced her husband to kill her, and came very close to taking zeke away from her.
@@akhilnair1137 Exactly. Wendy outsmarted her, and that scares Darlene more than anything else. Darlene usually has everything under control, this scene shows she has finally lost all control.
Wendy is a monster. Knock it off. She doesn’t have to have blood on her hands because she knows how to cozy up to power, manipulate, and call in favors. Wendy is what we call in the South, Nice and Nasty
Wendy’s development was great but could be cringe at times when playing the villain, felt the actresses for the likes of Darlene, Helen and Maya where a lot more naturally intimidating
I literally don’t care how many Emmy’s Laura Linney has - she NEEDS one for playing Wendy Byrde !!!!!
This shows the contrast between Wendy and Darlene. Wendy is strategic & Machiavellian while Darlene is psychotic & impulsive.
This is the moment Wendy turned into heisenberg.
She truly was.
Season 1: Episode 1.
Out-chicaneried again!
She's been Heisenberg since season 2
this was cold even for wendy
Ice cold, this scene made my jaw drop more than anything this season. Wendy is powerful here, like her or not
wendy lowkey my fav character ik most people don’t like her but 🤷♂️
Darlene snell is great!!!! Will miss her

@Ginger Hunter
GOOD RIDDANCE.
@@savagebuck @ her character?? Yeah she was vicious. But she added to the show in an interesting way.

I was about to comment the same thing!!

I love their interactions. This one was wild. I thought she died.
ladies and gentlemen, behold the baddest beach in the Ozarks. Wendy fucking Byrde

Wendy went full Hillary Clinton
holy fuck this made me snort
Fuck this comment is underrated
Jajajajajajajajajjaja legend
Went full Biden after he gave Trump an end-life crisis via election blowout W.
Call an ambulance,
But not for me!
*Darlene pulls out shotgun*
In season 1 I hated Wendy and now she's my favorite character.
Wendy transition, the best character growth in the Ozark.
Wendy is fucking badasss. She's fckn amazing, even a better character than Ruth
I’ve been saying this since season 1. She needs that Emmy - idgaf if she already has a ton.
Ruth is a self-righteous paper tiger hypocrite. Same thing with Jonah.
In season 3 i felt like this is the skyler that walter deserved. Now i feel like she is The Walter White of this show.
Even I got afraid of her in this scene.... Laura Linney killed it!
and the emmy goes too......
It better!
None of them. As it shouldn't. Overrated actress
If Wendy didn’t eventually make the call, Wyatt would still be alive.
This show is insane.
I honestly think Wendy does not want to leave the cartel. She enjoys the power too much.

Omar is in love with her too and I think she knows it.
Wendy was worth it
@@heelmoxley365 I mean who wouldn't want that tigress..
Arooo
if you see the espisode of the flashback you can understand the emptyness pf her life so
WHAT DARLENE
bruh i knew she was gonna hesitate and not call em😭 she’s evil!
Wendy went from being a vulnerable narcissist to a full blown sociopath
Awww. That's our Wendy. ❤
Well damn... I can't say I'm mad at Wendy cuz this was actually strategically smart as messed up as it is.
I was having an heart attack too...
Buddy approves of this
I've actually just watched this scene, don't know what happens next..., yet. WENDY IS GOLD!!
Is it just me or does Laura Linney, in this and the Truman Show, do the best job of channeling Hilary Clinton
Wendy is terrifying.
Emmy for Laura! Now!
Laura Linney is so good at doing evil, fake smiles.
no doubt this is the female walter white
Damn.
Wendy 5 - Darlene 0

In a different way -yes.

I just love Wendy she is my favorite character of the show, people say she is a villian but for me its a teacher

Helen no , Maya no, Darlene yes
