    Pastor Masons death was heartbreaking. He lost everything: his wife, his faith, his passion, his child. Killig a father in front of his helpless child is absolutely gruesome. I am a father and hearing Zeke cry when Mason takes his last fearful breath - man this was so hard to watch. I felt so sorry for the innocent young child. Evil people took his mother, his father and maybe his future. They all didn't deserve this. Masons family and its horrible fate fitted so perfectely into the story because it showed how the world works. Innocent people, children are dying when evil people won't get stopped. The world isn't fair and humans can be monsters, if we don't stop them.

Wendy was never gonna stop until she got killed, Marty is too weak to stop her and will continue to be her support, Charlotte was pretty much going along with everything for most of the show...the only detractor was Jonah, but the ending shows him coming around and committing to the “family business.” So now the family is whole, and they’re all on board to protect the business making them even stronger. They become a facsimile of a cartel, a mafia.

But I hate Claire for ratting her out, such a weak snitch...Claire should’ve died instead of her. Obviously you’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t think it was nihilistic. I think it was fatalistic, the Byrne family was destined to become a crime family, and the ending showed Jonah finally committing to carrying on the family business. It sucks because you don’t like seeing Charlotte and Jonah dragged into Wendy and Marty’s mess...but ultimately they became their parents like most children do. They were destined to become criminals.

This series was immaculate in cast/writing/cinematography and we're all lucky to have it made via Netflix budget. It's ridiculous to be that entitled and moan due to an ending. Much like The Sopranos, it's got to end somehow. We can't all have a perfect ending. Such is life.

      What cliffhanger? Jonah kills Mel, it only fades to black because the writers didn't want to end with more "violence" i.e. showing the body or anything. Plus that would necessitate a trip to the crematorium or whatever and they wanted what happened to be the final scene

      @sugabud Před rokem

      @@rickyzege they could’ve done a minute long scene (like they do in movies), showing how the family and town are getting on like a month after the actual final scene
      eg the byrdes took over the cartel just fine, charlottes off to college, they commemorated Ruth in some way, Rachel took over the casino, blah blah etc

    So many characters just put of character endings or straight up disappear in the last episodes like Rachel. Yeah cuz she's not gonna confront Marty when she finds out Ruth is dead? Worst ending I've ever personally watched.
    Oh and frank Jr ain't gonna retaliate? Or at least look into it?
    Whatever guess Wendy will just drive her family to hell and they'll enjoy the ride. So stupid.
    Also also, guess they'll divorce so jim and Wendy can marry? Who knows it was brought up once and never again.

    • @rickyzege
      @rickyzege Před 2 lety +1

      First of all, Marty and wendy wont divorce. The fam is United stronger than ever. Also the reactions of the side characters aren't integral at all, I don't think anyone would care wat they think. And they ended it ambiguously coz that's how it is. From wat they've been thru and wat has happened, it leaves the audience with questions about wat will happen and imagining wat could happen to keep them talking about the show and the lives of fictional characters. Which is great.

      No good well-written show is going to bundle everything up perfectly for needy watchers. They just boiled it down to a simple take-home ending: Corrupted power/politics/money (Byrds) wins/moves on; doing the right thing/changing your life to be good (Mel & Ruth) doesn't. On this occasion. That's just how they chose to tell/honour it. Don't know why people can't handle that? It's their show, not ours.
