  • In this Acrylic Pouring Video i show you how to design a beautiful Vase on your own with the Tree Ring Pour Technique. You don't need much for it, it's cheap and you can do it yourself at home!

    THE PREPARATION:
Of course you need a glass vase. Also acrylic paints of your choice, a Pouring Medium (e.g. PVA glue you can get in any handicraft shop) and some cups, baby glasses or similar.
The glass vase is cleaned and dried properly before the pouring. It is important that there is no grease residue on the vase. Therefore it makes sense to wipe it off again with a glasses cleaning cloth or an alcohol pad. But this is not a must :)
You also need something to make the vase stand a little higher, e.g. a plastic cup, the cardboard roll of toilet paper or kitchen roll or something similar.
I used a plate as a base to catch the excess paint. You can also put a canvas underneath and pour the paint on it to make a nice picture.
The paints are mixed as described below. Take care not to make the paint too thin for this technique, so that it sticks to the vase and the colours stay separated.
    MIXTURE OF PAINT:
    30% Paint
    60% Pouring Medium (PVA Glue)
    10% Distilled Water
    THE POURING PROCESS:
You layer the mixed colours in a cup on top of each other. You can do this in a jumbled way, as Dirty Pour, staggered or clean on one side, running down the edge. As you like it best, the result will always be different than you expect anyway :)
Then you carefully start to pour the paint on the vase in circular movements. Make sure that the paint runs down on all sides. This feeling is very satisfying and it looks really cool. Something completely different than with a canvas :)
When you are done, the paint will run for about an hour. At the beginning more, at the end only very minimal. What comes now is VERY IMPORTANT:
You will need a stick or fine object of your choice to wipe the noses on the edge of the vase. I have done this maybe 5 times until the color has not run any further, but it should not be forgotten! :)
After letting the vase dry for 48 hours, you can varnish the vase or seal it all with resin.
I hope you enjoyed my video. If so, leave me a thumb / subscription and see you next time :)
