I have both these helicopters and I would agree that they fly almost identical to each other. There are some suggestions that they use the same FBL controller. However, there are reported differences between them in terms of power and flight time.
What I found after 3 minutes of hard 3D flight at 80% throttle is that battery voltage drops to 3.72 for the Goosky and 3.68 for the Evo. This suggests that the battery may last a bit longer for the Evo. Moreover, the power levels of the two helicopters may be similar at the beginning of the flight, but the power of the Evo drops off substantially after 2 minutes, whereas the Goosky remains near the same as at the beginning of the pack. Therefore, if you are into hard or extreme smack 3D, the Goosky S2 would be a better choice.
It is now well known that Goosky was started off by engineers who used to work for OMP. Apparently OMP is furious about this and is threatening to sue Goosky in China. There are rumours of a bust up between the design staff and management or a firing of a top engineer that led to the mass defection from OMP.
well seems like politics and stories are already out hahaha :) it happens in China all the time. engineers work in a company, develop a tech, learn everything and then break off to start their own company with same tech in hands leaving the company to suffer losses. starting their own company making profits on new products that are exactly the same with some differences LOL. some do improve the products and make it better, like S2 Legend is really a very good helicopter. so hope this break up has started a competition and OMP will improve their products, bring new better products and GooSky will also bring us better and newer products.
@@alishanmao I'd like to see OMP stop shafting us on the price of a replacement canopy. £27 in UK, are you joking. I know it's not a cheap hobby but this is pure price gouging for the plastic version.
@@MistralisArracant oh damn, really? for that cheap canopy 27 Pounds? thats robbing man. i do not know whats going on, is import tax duties and other sales taxes too high in UK?
I started flying helicopter years and years ago after watching some of you earliest heli videos ...thanks again
always welcome buddy :) Thanks for continued support

Exciting week for me. Both my M2 Evo and goblin 420 raw arrive
awesome Have fun :)
Good job Ali, I ordered my EVO can’t wait for it. I have M1 and M2 V2 and love how they perform. BTW, your skills are getting there again. Cheers from Cali.
Awesome! Thank you!
Having flown both these brands, not being related to either brand I cannot totally agree, firstly there is no added expense the Bluetooth adapter is included with the S2, THE canopy only needs to be removed once to plug in the Bluetooth adapter and double tape the Bluetooth adapter to the FC. The apps are totally safe being released on both Google play store and Apple store. As regards to FCs, the Evo has a m2 FC which the firmware in none upgradeable now. The S2 Firmware is upgradeable and firmware updates via the app, so for me personally makes the S2 more future proof. from stock settings I have found the S2 has longer flight times has a much thinner chord on the blades, which makes the stops much sharper in hard 3d mode, I have all the OMP Helis and all are fantastic flyers, The s2 is a fantastic Heli from GooSky for a first release, both deserve a place in any ones collection but both very different with unique features.
Thanks buddy 👍😀
OMP HOBBY all the way!!
Thanks buddy 👍😀 But S2 is a superb RC Helicopter too
Hey buddy what's going on love your videos Hey wonder if the legend canopy will fit on my M2 EVO???
I do not think so. because it needs to have screws on the frame which M2 does not have.
great video sir..nice
Thanks and welcome.

Nice review on both helis Alishanmao. you did a good job. But I just got a Goosky S2. keep up the good work. Aloha!!
Good choice!
Hi...great video! My question is....I fly JR dmss but I have an old Dx7 dsm2 transmitter somewhere😅 will these his bind with an older dsm2 transmitter??? Thanks.
if you can add a satellite receiver you can fly these
Great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
The winner is m2 EVO. Love the m2 EVO great helicopter I got the yellow one
Thanks buddy :)
Shame you can’t upgrade the the Evo firmware now The R and D left OMP and it belongs to Goosky so the S2 is more future proof and a sharper flying Heli since the updates
well to be honest, for helis not many will upgrade firmware. I have some helis that i am flying for many years, without upgrading firmware and they are absolutely flying perfect. OMP M2, eachine helis for year or more, no issues at all, never upgraded the firmware nor even needed.
so when it comes to helicopters like these, firmware are not that important like they are in drones. i mean what new features can they introduce by firmware? Auto 3D? LOL
besides if R&D left OMP and started GooSky, I am sure OMP has new R&D now. i mean they will not live without it, will they?
GooSky S2 is a superb helicopter and I love it, but so do i love OMP Helis.
@@alishanmao it makes a difference on future plans for the FC on bigger models for one, Goosky has already made one update that made a difference to the FC, when you have plans for competition entry a FC capable of firmware updates makes a huge difference. The only other FC I know on the market not capable of updates is the Kbar for obvious reasons, I have a huge amount of flights on both models, for most as a trainer Heli it won’t make any difference they are both great helis, but it gets expensive when you have to start from scratch to re design a new FC, and a complete new long testing era when one already has it in place, both these brands are here to stay, personally on this size I think it’s worth owning both of them, future models who knows what is in testing for release !!!!!?????? The FC I use mainly receives regular updates that’s made huge difference in flight performance the Neo, Spirit, FUTABA just to name three have made some Important firmware updates, neo did on the logo 200 to improve flight performance, TALY was a firmware update at the time.
@@garyowen3743 The reality is that unless you're at an elite skill level, most pilots just aren't going to notice the differences you mention.
Boa tarde, deixando aquele like para prestigiar seu trabalho.
Thanks buddy 👍😀
Either one will be GREAT!
yes
There’s also the eachine e180 and HDX R 180 to consider when buying a small direct drive. In my opinion the e180 is best out of all 4 because it is cheaper and pretty much the same.
Eachine E180 is a good heli but not as powerful as these two. yes agreed Eachine Direct Drive are budget helis. Looking at the newest Eachine E120S on my table right now and thinking if I should use Futaba or TX16S to maiden it
@@alishanmao I think most people would run the tx16s with the new eachine. I personally would run spektrum with a satellite if I get it because I know it well, after your review of course. 🚁❤️🚁❤️🚁❤️
I have 2 E180. In both cases, the FBL controller broke after a short time.
Finally a unbiased comparison.
I have the old m2 explorer and it's already great. Tought of Goosky as a cheap ripoff/ clone first hit after the first flight video got online it was clear its defenitly a legit competitor.
For my skill level both the evo and S2 don't add a lot already having a m2. If any of the companies make a larger size heli soon id defenitly think about picking it up.
If not Raw 420 it is
Very well said buddy. I too am looking for bigger helis now.
Nice
Thanks bud
I remember years ago u flying the large wltoys 3 d drone like a champ it would make the xk350 look like a syma x5 brother u got skills
Thanks brother :)
I got both ….awesome for both. OMP has way better radio rtf. They rock
Congrats and have fun buddy
Thank you for your video. Is the m2 v2 also good? Cood get one for 150. Or is the m2 evo much better?
yes they are
Has anyone compared these in the RTF? I do not want a BNF and am curious which has the easier to use radio and which has the longer flight time battery life.
both are good helis. but go with what is available easily
ALI, HAVE U EVER RIDE SHANGHAI MAGLEV 436 KMH ??? IM SO INTERESTED WITH VERY LOW LEVITATING VEHICLES.
not, but taken high speed trains often in China, since the time they used to do almost 400kmph but then after an accident they reduced the speed to 350 and then 305 now. still very fast train
Ali, love how your t-shirt!!! Do you pay Darren anything?
I did these Shirts at home myself. if you like these shirts you can order them on my Tee Spring store here:
alishanmaos-store.creator-spring.com/
For me... unless the GooSky S2 Legend gets more than HeliDirect for a US supplier, I am more than happy with staying with OMP as I have been for over 2 years now with my M1, M2V2 and now the M2 Evo that I have so much fun with.
Well Said. Guess in USA Omphobby Still has an upper hand
What helicopter model do you fly on Real flight, I have just ordered at M2 Evo and would like to practice my skills, thanks for compassion, as always it's a pleasure to watch
Align TREX500 or a 450 size heli you can find in the list are all good
@@alishanmao thanks Mate. That will keep me entertained and hopefully save a few real craches
O MP.
Comes out with a fantastic helicopter. Everybody loves,... after doing a lot of R&D (OMP) and it is easy to steal, copy, and even improve upon for less money.
Please people for the love of God do a little bit of research.
And think about where your money is going.
hmmm
@alishanmao You need to give yourself a pat on the back. I started flying helicopters about 10 years ago.
And I know I first came across your videos you were terrible, as was I. I now do sport flying very, very limited 3D. And you, sir are orders of magnitude better than I am now. It has been a fun progression for myself and to watch you as well.
There are now many copies of the OMP original. OMP remains number 1 with guarantee
OMP Is good, quality and products. but we got to admit that GooSky S2 Legend is sure 1 step ahead in terms of features
can you buy goodksky s2 canopee and put it on M2 ?
I do not think so
I just bought Goosky S2 because of your video. Do you know how to set it up with the XK controller that comes with K110? I'm still choosing a radio, but I want to fly here until then :)
Thank you for trusting my reviews. its a superb RC helicopter and at high end high performance 3D heli. having said that, I would not dare set it up with an elcheapo radio like XK controller. anything goes wrong, and you will regret it. so best to get a good controller, Get a Futaba, or TX16S, i am going to release a video of how to setup any direct drive 3D heli with TX16s easily very soon.
I used the xk x6 radio for my OMP explore. As it did not have rescue, I crashed a lot. You'd better buy the tx16s as it will save you money in the long run and you can easily link it to a simulator like accu RC. This is the best way to learn. If you crash too much IRL you will get frustrated and maybe move on from the hobby
@@markrice23 I totally agree. its best to invest in a good radio. by the way TX16S is not that costly compared to other branded radio and its one of the best out there.
@@markrice23 I already connected xk x6 to Goosky S2, everything works and even rescue mode, which I realized I don’t need, because the Heli much stable compared to k110
@@wSevenDays that isn't a proper rescue. Check this out. czcams.com/video/qfU86pp0UsY/video.html
I've been there man, going from an xk110 to the mp, you can get out of shape when learning inverted, cause damage and vibrations which is a major ballache. Get the tx16s, you will thank me later
Hi does anyone know if the Goosky S1 is compatible with Spektrum DX9 transmitter? If so what do I need to purchase to make it work?
you have to add a satellite rx and then you can use your Spektrum. I have the S1. waiting for good weather to do videos.
@@alishanmao are you running Spektrum? I wasn't sure how I could fit a normal SPM9745 on this tiny heli. Do you recommend a different satellite?
A big like is yours❗😁
thank you :)
Hi bro. Is it possible to use goosky battery to M2 evo? Does goosky battery fit to M2 evo battery slot?
yes S2 and M2 Evo batteries fit to each other. no problems
@@alishanmao thank you sir
that was a very long winded beat around the bush tie 😴
Can I use a Dx6i transmitter with M2 evo
if you use a spektrum receiver yes you can
@@alishanmao thanks and yes I have a receiver
Which one is best for beginners?
which one you can find cheaper, and have easy to find cheaper parts
I love my goosky s2
I love all my helis :)
Best flying 200 on the market
@@garyowen3743 yes it is the best
I know people who got the Evo now have them for sale in preference to the S2, Personally I would own them both, both give equal support, both supply large stocks of spares, Ben Storick had the choice of brands to go to, he didn’t choose Goosky for no reason, he obviously knows what’s coming
@garyowen3743 It was stolen and now it will be sure to put OMP out of business.
This is the strategy and it is working flawlessly with so many brands.
Ali I waited 3 months for the new Yuxiang/Eachine E180 V2. They couldn’t deliver so I got my refund and bought the M2 EVO in racing yellow with the radiomaster Zorro and couldn’t be happier. Goosky was formed by disgruntled ex employees of OMP hence reason they are so close.
Good choice!
Ok questions, I appologise if you answered already. I know you mentioned that the goosky is programmable without the app, can you tweak it just as much without the app? What are the fight times, yes I know it varies pending on style. Which gives you the better flight time? Is omp the bigger brand with better aftersales support. Thanks for the vid I've been waiting for, good work
Yes you can program S2 Controller using settings buttons too, and tweak the settings you need, but app makes it super easy and super fast to tweak.
flight times on both helis are around 4 to 4:30 minutes with 3D and more without 3D. i will test how long can we fly only in scale mode (no 3D) and with 3D at lower head speed and higher head speed.
OMP Hobby has been around for a while now, but GooSky is a new company however, it does not mean a new company won't provide a good support. I have always mentioned to GooSky Since i got the heli that its not the product but the quality, price and stronger support from company is winning strategy. I hope both companies will provide best support to customers. any other questions feel free to write. You are welcome :)
@@alishanmao thankyou for an in-depth reply. Keep up the good work
welcome
I quit flying for a decade over at least, walked into a shop today, and saw this, I am going to pick it up - seeing it here. The decisions is sealed. S2 - Chicken Beak.
Welcome and enjoy
Does omphobby m2 battery(650 or 750mah) fit to goosky?
M2 Evo batteries are better because they are same 750mAh
@@alishanmaothanks bro. I mean the size of M2 battery fits to goosky s2?
GOOSKY 🚁
Thanks :)
The only problem I have with that GooSky S2 is... well... I'm red/green colorblind. As soon as you took off, I already lost track of that bird. =^/,..,^'=
Change the color of canopy : )
The reason why it goes downwards when you flip the switch is that
The pitch and head speed is not right
Pitch center point are different. i know that :) if center points stay 0, it won't jump that way
Goosky all day!!
for sure
Love the design but way too small!, scale it up, so I can see it when in the air! Use to fly Flybar Nitro in the 80's. these are great Helis, but way too small to fly unless your in a restricted site!
I agree with you. bigger helis are really better to fly. but then comes the costs.
@@alishanmao Yes always the cost, but for me, I like the bigger Helis, but would love to see a direct drive 700 size Electric
@@pagodadr i believe its matter of time, someone will release it. that would be awesome to have a 700 size electric direct drive. i already spoke about this to a number of companies this year. but the cost of such big heli is higher and then people whose buying powers are going down day by day, it won't sell. thats the reason companies are not willing to invest in this.
@@alishanmao Especially now with gas & food costs increasing like crazy!
@@pagodadr tell me about it, manmade inflation with man made planned events of pandemic and war, some people are getting too rich doing this and controlling the fate of the rest of us. but what they do not know is when they die, all this money will be left here. besides doing all this they do not even have time to enjoy what they have earned. Their billion dollars houses, and mansions, maids and servants enjoy living in it, their billion dollar cars, drivers enjoy driving those, their billion dollar planes, pilots enjoy fly those. they just have meetings to change the fate of the lower class, control the world, earn the money, eat some food and go to bed hungry for all the life they miss out.
Some people like helicopters to fly scale like real helicopters and others want to use them as tool to juggle with. The market seems geared towards the juggler.fixed wing pilots mostly want their models to fly like the real thing but not model helicopter pilots. Strange.
scale flying on rc helicopters soon can turn boring. This 3D keeps the fun and the interest alive to do more, take on more challenge.
@cHriS I've seen aerobatic aircraft do tail stands the tiny pitts etc a full sized aircraft. No, I'm a fixed Wing model pilot and we all want our models to fly like the real thing. I do fly model helicopters but scale only. You are just using them to juggle with its a tool.
@@jeffreyuprichard3754 If the fun one gets from these models is from 3D, that is what they care about and why they buy it. I am in the middle as I fly sport which is to me a blend of light 3D and regular forward flight. For me... unless the GooSky S2 Lengend gets more than HeliDirect for a US supplier, I am more than happy with staying with OMP as I have for over 2 years now with my M1, M2V2 and now the M2 Evo that I have so much fun with.
@@stot2614 My point was fixed Wing flyers are aviation enthusiast and like models to fly like the real thing. 3D helicopter pilots just want them as a tool to juggle with and probably have no interest in aviation.
@@jeffreyuprichard3754 When you assume that we as rc heli pilots have no interest in aviation... Most times that is false and especially with me, so overall that is not a valid point. I fly other aircraft too and have loved aviation for well over 30 years. I actually had the fortune to try my hand at flying a full scale Robinson R22 years ago right out of high school. Also... Consider the additional practice time that it takes to be proficient at all orientations for rc heli flight. I see videos for now airplanes that also go heavy on the 3D... But to each their own. Just dont assume that "most" rc heli pilots aren't interested in aviation... Just a misnomer.
i have the s2 and the m2 evo and the Gooski s2 is clearly better, the tail works better. the m2 in some manoeuvres the tail turns (try dropping the m2 evo with the tail in front). and for strong 3d the gooski motor has more power, you can fly stronger with the gooski. i have left the m2 as a back up heli, i always fly the gooski.
if you fly very smoothly there is no difference.
agreed. now the S1 legend is out :)
@@alishanmao is the S1 capable of being flown outdoors? How does it compare to the S2?
@@LichaelMewis of course, its a hardcore 3D capable machine. i even do not have skils to do 3d that little S1 can handle
@@alishanmao wasn't sure because some of these tiny helis are meant to only be flown indoors. Which would you choose between the two? I'm looking for a good backyard heli to learn some skills with. I know how to basic fly but looking to get intermediate and eventually advanced.
It’s bird….it’s a plane……it’s……..a bug on speed 😉
