Between EJ in Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Tiffany here, I think this officially confirms that no Voctave member actually needs to breathe.
RIGHT!! Someone once said something about them "sharing" those long notes.... Erm.... NO! it's called CONTROL.. and they have ALLLLL of it! 😍😍😍😍
Lmao ⟟ love this
😂
They. Use. Staggered. Breathing
They. Use. Staggered. Breathing.
4:11 - I love that she didn't take a breath before going down. It sounds so much better. Most people can't handle holding notes as long as she can. Most people can't do what Voctave can do.
Andrew Braams she does have years of training but another measure I like where she doesn’t take a breath is the last two measure where she goes up to her final high note!
@@annabaker9173 that Eb that you hear is coming from Kate, not Tiffany. But I agree that she does hold out her note impressively at the end.
It's not live, it's lipsynced to a recording. When recording you can record a phrase at a time, it helps.
@@andreasvalkare559 I didn't know that about recording. But while that may be the case, I know she is still capable of holding notes for an eternity.
Andrew Braams it is also Tiffany because you can tell by the way she ends her note that it came from her as well
This is why Voctave is the best Acapella group out there. Receives so little recognition
@Madison Shepherd As a massive fanboy of both groups, they are not in competition with each other. Other than that they are both a cappella groups, they are so completely different that they are each incomparable on their own. Even on the songs where they overlap, their takes are so dissimilar that they defy comparison. "Mary Did You Know" and "Carol of the Bells" may have been done by both groups, but there is no way to compare them, because each performance is utterly unique.
@@UserHorologium That logic doesn't make all that much sense though. At what point would you consider two performances too unique to compare to eachother? If a group performed a tweaked arrangement written by another group, is that performance unique? Even if they two performances of the same song are indeed unique, they are still comparable regardless of how different their interpretations were.
I think its easy to say, without a doubt, that Voctave is more vocally impressive and more technically talented than Pentatonix, considering both as whole units. When PTX does sing more lyrical and choral music (like their version of Hallelujah for example), they still don't appear as impressive and talented as Voctave. I personally don't think the singers in PTX are *as* great as people say they are. They are really good, don't get me wrong, but they aren't God-tier, or even close to it. They are good singers, and they elevate themselves by singing in a group setting. Voctave on the other hand, in my opinion, has far more technically talented singers. Their group size also allows for more variation in tone, tambre, and interpretation when they bring someone up front to sing solo. It also helps with their mid-range support, and also they have the luxury of having two great high sopranos who float on top of the texture.
Its also important to point out that the genres the two groups tend to sing are drastically different, but that doesn't mean we can't include that in out criticism. I personally think that because PTX does a lot of Pop and modern music, they are forced into using a lot of vocal production and editing to match the style, which makes me like them less. I'm not saying Voctave doesn't edit their vocals, they clearly do (as does every successful singer or group), but there is a difference between minor pitch or rhythmic adjustments vs massive vocal production with effects and constant sensitive pitch-correction etc. I don't think PTX needs that either, which is what frustrates me the most. Its a product of the genre they like to sing. Without those edits, it would sound... bad. A big part of Pop music is that "produced" sound, so they need to include it in order to match the style.
I know this is 9 months late, but I felt like writing today :)
@@nadivkaspi6211 thank you 👏
Home free is also very, very good, but they are both completely different styles of a Cappella
Pentatonix could NEVER
Tiffany always looks so joyous when singing. Love her voice and cheerful smiles.
She does. It's the Spirit within....Merry CHRISTmas everyone.
shes a sweet heart. i got the chance to meet her once. a dream come true
Wonderful voice so..Inspirational
It's so pretty that it conjures tears.
I met TIFFANY COBURN, too, at a DAVID PHELPS concert! She sang a couple solos! #perfection #allsmiles #holyspiritflowing 🕊
There is something so sweet & motherly about Tiffany's voice... like it makes me feel warm inside :´)
What an incredibly, fabulous, thoughtful and gracious comment. wow.. Her voice is warm and bright at the same time.
Tiffany is my favorite !
EXACTLY this!
That captures it perfectly. Thank you!
@@karmakomodia I think it comes from an Indian soul ...
Johnathon P., if I guessed wrong: do take it as a compliment..
Waiting for Tara Simon to see this and absolutely melt while fangirling.
She should just subscribe to Voctave and do a video every time they post a new one.
Tara Simon is great. I love watching her swoon over beautiful singing :)
@@EmmaChihuahua81 Completely agree. LOL
I was thinking the same thing.

It's March 4 today and I'm still in awe every time I listen to this song, and I listen to it every single day, Christmas or not! Love VOCTAVE!
If earthly voices sound this heavenly, can you imagine hosts of angels voices rejoicing? 🎶🎵🎶 #Voctave #slay #perfection #glorious #praisestoGod
What a great way of thinking about that! It's hard to imagine "angel choirs", but yes, comparing them to the most amazing human voices you've ever heard?? Such a great mental picture, well thought!
Looking forward to heaven for sure!
She clearly knows God! So good!
How unimaginably wonderful is the thought of that praise to God! But, what absolutely makes me tremble is this:
Zephaniah 3:17 (LSB)
Yahweh your God is in your midst,
A mighty one who will save.
He will be joyful over you with gladness;
He will be quiet in His love;
He will rejoice over you with joyful singing.
"He will rejoice over you with joyful singing." I can't begin. Can you imagine?! God Himself singing over us!
@@bjornegan6421 I can't imagine but I look forward with joyful anticipation
I love how physically expressive she is. You can tell she loves what she does, and that makes the music even better.
The line "fall on your knees" in this song, and whenever sung in such a way really gives me goosebumps every time.
"Every knee shall bow" it's like when you hear "fall on your knees" it's like something spiritual letting you know it will happen!!! I ALWAYS feel something too!! Beautifully haunting almost
Tiffany is absolutely brilliant. Her high notes are bell-like and clear. She sings effortlessly with no straining.
Brings tears to my eyes every time! I can feel that these aren't just words and notes to you. They have actual, personal meaning. And that's what makes this an amazing performance. I gotta say it: Better than Pentatonix could do!
4:41 OMG THAT NOTE!!!
Right??? How is that humanly possible??
She did something similar to what EJ did in his lead.
How do they sing that high??? My voice cracks
I'm having a hard time figuring out if it's her or the regular soprano that hits it in the end. They are so locked in I can't tell where one ends and the other begins!
@@NickD16 It was a harmony between Tiffany (The lead) and Kate (the shorter soprano). Kate can sing much higher and cleaner high notes than Tiffany though.
LORD, HAVE MERCY! Two years later, this is still the most scintillating jewel of vocal excellence I have ever heard! (And why doesn't it yet have a million views??)
Tiffany is a DIVA, in the most positive way 😍😍😍.
Tiffany is the only person allowed to be a diva! ♥♥
Which one is Tiffany?
@@stardancer119 Kate is also allowed that freedom
@@myheartwillstopinjoy8142 the soloist ☺️
Omg. That was the best rendition I have ever heard and I'm 85 and have heard many.
'oh hear the angels calling' I don't just hear them, but see them!
Big facts!!!
Tiffany's solos are always my favorite! Amazing job everyone!
Tiffany is a goddess of music. Her voice is interesting and the passion that she brings to each song (All is Well, Impossible Dream, Disney Princess Medley, O Holy Night, in particular) draws me in every time. She is an extraordinary talent. And that note at 4:41 was exquisite!
oh definitely check out her star spangled banner if you haven't already!
Thats my mom!!! Ill tell her you said such sweet comments
@@pariscoburn3439 OH MY GOODNESS. Ok so... You are the closest I can ever dream of being to Tiffany but please tell her she is an INCREDIBLE singer with the most fairy godmotherly voice I've ever heard... Her expressions are EVERYTHING and I love watching her really enjoy a song... She is utterly DIVINE! I love allllll of Voctave and of course Kate is also a spectacular soprano but Tiffany has this relatable charm that can only transcend on camera if you are TRULY feeling what you're singing. I connect with her the most! If they ever come to the UK just try and stop me going! 😂😂😂 ok I think that's enough gushing... You may not even read this but if you do PER-LEASE tell her that from me!! 💖💖💖 PS... Everything from 4:00 onwards was insane! 😍😍😍😍😍
Impossible Dream I play pretty much every day because of how she sings it!! When she sings the Disney Medley (not the Princess one, the one with Kristin from Pentatonix and Jeremy) and she's hitting those high notes with Kate, her face is so cute cos you can tell she's like YAAAASSSSS! WE DID THAT!!! She is so expressive and it's a joy to see!
Ayesha Sha Sha! I just told her! She says thank you so much u helped make her day better! And im so jealous that you live in the U.K. !!!
I love how Tiffany is so confident and goes for the obvious note... and NAILS IT!
Another discovery of your work. What a gift. To God,to us. Sublime. Tony and entire ensemble, we are soo proud of you all. Astonishing. Imagine what it will be like in heaven. ❤️🙏🏼
We love you Tiffany! I love her voice!! I've been waiting for this for a long time!!! She deserved this solo!! This gave me chills and I might have cried.
I did cry! Burst into tears at the beauty of this.

Kate always gets tons of credit (which is completely deserved) but Tiffany is also an incredible singer, glad she got spotlighted!!!!!
I did dry - quite a bit.
Oh, holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
Oh, night divine (oh, night divine)
Oh, night when Christ was born (oh, holy night)
Oh, night divine
Oh, night
Oh, night divine
Truly he taught us to love one another
His law is love and his gospel is peace
Chains shall he break for the slave is our brother
And in his name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise his holy name
Christ, Christ
Christ, Christ is the lord
Oh, praise his name forever
His power (his power) and glory for evermore proclaim (oh, holy night)
Oh, night divine (oh, night divine), oh, night (oh, night)
Oh, night divine
Oh, holy night, oh, holy night
Oh, night
Divine
Tiffany's voice is SUPERB ! HOWEVER, what REALLY makes her interpretation of this piece to result in touching and transforming hearts is how she DEEPLY feels and conveys the profound meaning of the words she's singing here !!! So much JOY while saying " Oh. hear the angel voices !! ", and her wonderment at " this is the night of our dear Savior's birth !!" and " FALL on your knees !! " All the other voices of Voctave are so AMAZING that the whole performance is absolutely a master piece !!!!! THANKS VOCTAVE !!!
How does this not have more views?!?! And how have I only just come across this group??? They are incredible!!
Dude, I just found them today...
Underrated AMEN GLORY TO CHRIST JESUS! Who died for sinners so they may repent and turn to him🤍
Ohhh myyyy...I cried at the end. Absolutely magnificent!!
Lil Crafty Nook it took you until the end?! 😉
I had to listen again, 2 hrs ago I surfed in on it, this time I'm left in tears, the passionate emotions of the soloist combined with the spirit of the choir
and thinking n thanking God for the greatest gift given to man..the baby Jesus... Let us all continue to pray for the lost.❤😎🙏
Amen Ernie! Merry Christmas.
@@SlimShady40 same to you as well.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This is my favorite Christmas carol and probably the one I listen to the most on The Spirit of the Season album. Tiffany's voice is a perfect fit for this song. Her infectious joy and radiant smile can be felt while she sings, and watching her perform she conveys just how much she loves to sing.

Tiffany’s voice is so smooth and silky!!! I can’t get enough of it! Wonderful, fabulous job, Voctave!!!
I love each and everyone of them, all of them have their own personality and class... But Tiffanny is just adorable. She is very animated in a very classy way. She is pure elegance and i love how she project her self but above all the way she project her voice. What a treat. Keep singing Voctave!!
I love how Tiffany is so animated when she sings. You can tell she is really joyfully giving praise to the Lord!
Feel thrilled for such long-hold high notes from 4:00 and 4:37. Well done Voctave and Happy Holidays everyone!
4:16
Tiffany's range literally gives me palpable joy
Tiffany breaking out her whistle register 😘 such range and breath control xx
Lizzie Dean Makes I think she stayed in head voice. That range is still crazy though
Its not just me! I thought it was her, but some people say its Kate. I think Kate sounds more open and operatic, so I'm pretty sure Tiffany has the high note at the end!
It's not whistle register but it was headvoice note...
@@nadivkaspi6211 Kate herself confirmed in an interview that it was Tiffany who ended with that high note.
@@neerajemanuel7771 she literally moves her head at the end and opens her mouth quite a bit wider - hard to believe anyone thought it was Kate

Jamie has mastered the infinity stones of key changes!!!
TIFFANY!!!! Girl. That. Last. Note. Are you kidding me, right now??? Legit chills EVERYWHERE 🙏♥️🙏♥️
Not taking anything away from Tiffany's spectacular performance on this (I truly love the naturally soft, sweet tone of the voice and her natural animation! She has finally got to step out of Kate's shadow a little bit here and show us what she is truly capable of in terms of a piece with a little more range.), but on the last chord, how high did Kate come in at if Tiffany was at an Eb6? The two of them are both truly amazing!!
Kate ended it up with B flat 5.
Holy Night soothes my soul.
Their Holy Night is off the charts, and beyond compare
They are the wonderful Alchemists of the Christmas song

Dear Lord! What lovely voices!
I have never heard a more MAGNIFICENT version of this song EVER IN LIFE!
She has a Sandi Patty vibe to her voice! Love her!
Agree. Have loved Sandi since 1985. Hard to believe but Tiffany has a creamy smoothness that Sandi lacks. It's subtle but its there.
I have loved Sandi Patty for years. I don't think she hit notes this high.
Tiffany sings with so much expressiveness and *sheer joy* that you can't help but smile and shiver in glee. Thank you. For bringing light to our Christmas time.
Goosebumps, even tears!!! So beautiful and touching interpretation. A new fan here! GBU guys!!! What a talent!!!
And she brings the Eb at the end...what a beauty, this Tiffany is.
Oh my god, didn't think one could sing higher - and still so beautiful. What an incredible vocal group. I am stunned and moved and overwhelmed...
With all of the troubling times in our country and world today, sometimes you just need a good, cleansing cry....Voctave brings so much emotion and soul touching inspiration to each of their songs, I’m just speechless. Put in your earbuds, close your eyes, listen to the words and their singing, and be cleansed. Thank you Voctave for helping do just that. ❤️ 😔
I will never get over this
Can't stop listening to this song, is on of the song that has an Ending I never get tired of listening
Holy crap, I had chills going on during the end but then she kicked it up ANOTHER notch at 4:41
Absolutely insane

This is really, really good.
Tiffany's voice is just beautiful. Great arrangement! Love from Brazil. 💙
Tiffany is such an amazing soloist!! She just had such a sweet and confident persona, like she’s leading the rest of the group- long deserved!! Absolutely loved it!
Tiffany I know that you know God and it shows! Love it!
Just found out about this group through Live Free Live Simple who I've followed a long time & I just love them. I've always loved acapella groups that can harmonize this great. My son turned me on to a group who I believe was just called Acapella long ago when he was a teenager & a devout Christian who only listened to Christian music, which was rare even then. That teenager is now 52 so it was long ago but thankfully he's still a Christian & still listening to Christian music, however the groups have changed a lot but I'm now 75 & love the modern groups mostly. I do however miss a lot of my old time gospel having grown up in the 50's & 60's. My mother loved gospel groups of that era & that's what I grew up on. Great job!!! A new (old) fan from Alabama.
The way tiffany hit that high notes at the end I literally get a goosebump at the same time. Good job voctave!!

Amazing singing as always. But Jamey Ray - you are literally a BEAST! I love your arrangements so much. 2 major highlights - 4:05 the chord on di-VINE - so tasty. And at 4:38 the Fmaj/Eb so damn good.

And when her INSANNNE high note came at the end, JC and the Bass crew just casually matching it right down the other end!? I mean. I may not be able to tell you exactly what note was what... But I have a good enough ear to know that it was spine-tinglingly exquisite and brought me to tears! I love hearing people talk about what the different chords were though, so feel free to hit me back with technicalities! 😂😂😂😂
