This is one of the best front end/grilles fords ever made, in my opinion. A timeless design that gives super duty vibes.
Just bought this exact truck except in black. The 2.7L is an EcoBEAST and functions well as a commuter and an off-road, weekend warrior. Some of the key features I am most enjoying is the huge amount of space in the backseat. I have folded up the seats and camped a night in the back very comfortably. Second, I am enjoying the handling. The 10 speed transmission gives a smooth ride and maximizes every bit of power out of the 2.7. Last but not least, the climate control is exceptional. I live in Wyoming and -6 mornings are frequent, the Max Defrost feature (crank the temp dial all the way to heat max) gets the cabin warmed up in no time which is important for hauling my 2 year old around. Thanks for the great review, I feel you touched on all the features and gave the truck a solid shake.

Great review. I bought the 2020 STX with the 2.7L Ecoboost and I'm very impressed with it. I compared it with the XLT, and I decided the STX was best suited for my needs. The only time it will tow any significant amount of weight is when I'm towing my 22', single axle camper, and it does it very well.
Nice truck. This one actually looks and feels like a TRUCK unlike all the platinums and limiteds

F-150 KING OF TRUCKS I’m not sure what that means. But, I will say that there’s nothing rugged about the high end F150s at all except for the Raptor by default. Lol. They feel like over sized luxury vehicles with their center shifters, over-use of electronics and cameras, leather seats etc.
JMW Life its like a cadillac escalade to drive in the city and get groceries. But hell no would anyone abuse or use them like a real truck should. Theyre basically a quarter of a mortgage brand new
True, chrome trims look ugly and just increase the price tag. Id rather an stx than a platinum f150.

Just leased this exact truck but in Magnetic Grey. I love it! It has everything that I need and nothing more. I traded in my 2018 Fusion Hybrid/Energi that had leather, heated seats and all kinds of crap that I didn't need. I'm extremely happy with my new truck.

I fkn hate spray on bedliner. The rough surface scratches to hell all items and is totally pointless. It's a deal breaker for me.

The STX is only a styling upgrade over an XL 100A. Only major difference I see are a few plastic trim accents on doors, center console, power windows, key fob, sync, gravity cast aluminum machined wheels , power mirrors, different grill with fog lights , and painted bumpers. It is no doubt nice but I can see this particular truck doesn't have the ecoboost payload package , tailgate dampner, and no bedliner. I understand it is a supercrew but still is a bit steep for which the aforementioned basic options should be included for a sport utility truck.
eddielt1sl tailgate assist and bedliner...???? You know can buy the tailgate assist shock for $20 on Amazon, and any bedliner you want from $150 to $600.
night stalker- Yep...I bought the tailgate damper off ebay and installed it myself. All that needed to be done was removing the passenger tail light and removing a couple of torx bolts. I got the bedliner when I ordered the truck but installed my own accessories myself. Installed leveling shackles pinion shims, rear anti sway bar, differential cover 9-3/4" rear wheel well liners etc. Yes It saves to do all the labor yourself I know.
I just bought one last week and it came with a bed liner. It must depends which one you get. Mine was 40k and with all the rebates and law enforcement discount I ended up getting it for 33k. For that price and with everything it already comes with makes it great deal if you tell me. Not even the XLT has the center console unless you get the sport package for the XLT.
If I'm mistaken it also gets you sync3 unit without having to buy a xlt.

A family friend of ours just got a 2018 F150 STX with the 5.0 V8 as his 2008 FX2 sport got totaled a few weeks ago. It’s a nice truck and after seeing this review I’ll highly consider getting this trim once I’m out of school for a few years. With a few aftermarket goodies such as different headlights and tail lights as well as possibly aftermarket leather I can still spend less than what a high trim level would be!
I have a 2019 stx exactly like this one, color and motor lol. Love the truck. The little 2.7 has some grunt!!

Great review! I have this truck (as a SuperCab) in the same color on a 24 hour test drive. I’m sure the trip computer is lying, but it said I got 28.9 mpg for a 40 mile mostly 55 mph drive home. Your video showed me how to change driving modes and I’ll try eco mode on the way back. I’m a Ram guy but I think I’ll buy this truck.

Saw a XL STX in town when I was getting diesel and I thought that's the one I'd want. But I'm the one that would be buying the LS Silverado and the lower model GMC. I plan on driving it. I don't need the truck to have everything in the world to break down and me have to figure out how to use it ever time I get into it. I'd want that in a 5.0 or a normally aspirated 6. Supercab or regular cab. We'll probably be chauffeured by robots before I'd pay that much though. In 2003 I was having warranty work on a car & the dealer put me in a 2001 GMC Sierra short bed auto 4.8 for three days and at first I wasn't too happy about it because I drove several miles back then per year. But by the time the 3 days were over I didn't want that car back!!! I prefer the GMC over the Chevy cab from 03 up through 08.. beyond the cat eye Silverado front end. I would be in a modern Chevy or GMC now the computer chip and other completely foreseeable market trends hadn't swung the way it did. So I have to save more pennies before I do that. I'm not paying $10,000 for a truck with 230,000 miles on it already and the interior is ruined and the doors don't shut right. I'll go back to 1989 Chevy Caprice station wagon before I'll do that! (I would have bought a 98 but I really wanted a 04+.. but a 98 would have been just fine.)
You can get this package on regular cab short bed also, which is very popular with the sport truck crowd.

It would be nice if you compare the most popular F150 trim, the XLT, with a similarly priced Sierra or Silverado, for those of us who can't afford the higher trims.
BTW, it is nice that you reviewed an almost base model and not just the Platinum and Raptor. In your review don't forget to examine the front bench seats and base engine or 2.7l ecoboost for some variety.

Buy mudflaps for it, truck kicks up a lot of dirt in the front door jam when it is wet out

Hi, they’re selling me a 2018 STX 2.7 EcoBoost turbo for $20,000 rear wheel, with 33k miles on it and still with ford factory warranty. Is this a good deal? Any advice would be appreciated. The truck is like this.

Thanks! Towing/MPG shouldn't be significantly different from the 2017 since most of the powertrain was left unchanged for 2018. Hope that helps :)
There are updated engines and a new transmission. I'm sure performance is improved but is fuel efficiency really improved? The 2017 3.5L updates claims better fuel efficiency, but this turned out not to be true in the real world.
I was seriously considering the F-150 but I was on the fence. Then my favorite CZcamsrs review another F-150. Ok, guys. If my fiance gets mad I'm sending her after you. If you hear of a short angry woman with a New York accent looking for you I'd suggest hiding.

There is no listing in the 2018 Ford F-150 brochure for an STX "Sport Package"; dealer bullshit?
No, the "STX Sport Edition" is a package on the XL trim level. It will technically be called "STX Appearance Package" (costs $1,995) under the options list. If you want to see specifically how this truck was equipped, refer to 19:57 in the video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Great truck but as configured it is pricey. Not anything like an XL, more like a loaded XLT or base Lariat.
Two Niner I bought this same truck last week but in metallic grey and it came with a bed liner for 33k. To me that's cheap with everything it comes with.

Utilizing apple carplay is much better than the ford navigation anyway. Also, since the recent IOS 12 update, you can now use 3rd party nav apps like Waze with apple carplay.

I just purchased the stx yesterday, the seats are 10 times better than the Silverado I traded in, and the engine feels more powerful and the ride is better too
These trucks (4x2) are going for 29k here in the DFW area. 33k for 4x4 which is the exact same truck shown here.

Bryan Miller lol!!...my complaint with v6s is not the power as I know there are some v6s that actually have more power and torque!!...my complaint is you will never get the longevity from a twin turbo v6 than the 302 or larger v8!!...that v6 is working lts ass off !...show me a twin turboed v6 with north of 200 thousand miles that's running good that's not an exception but rather a norm and I might change my mind!

Tyson Brown mine was 40k and dropped to 33k. It has everything you pretty much need and looks good. After looking at both XLT and the STX last week. It was a clear choice which was the better one of them both. Really happy with the STX I bought last week.
Unfortunately the word FORD at the front and back is so big. It isn't a brand name any more. It is an advertising tool. I believe we as customers must appeal to FORD to charge them for this advertising tool. Yes I am serious. FORD is so so big to be as a logo or a brand. I believe FORD is misleading their customers and use them as advertising tools. Thank you
