At 15:41 I mention Active Park Assist as having the Enhanced Park Assist with Perpendicular Park and Park Out. The F-150 Park Assist is the Active Park Assist that does not include those features but it does Parallel Park the vehicle taking care of finding a spot and steering the vehicle for you. Thanks AngolaCel for correcting me. I want to have the most accurate information in the videos.

I am about to buy an F150 based on your review of the Lariat and referring us to your Park Assist video. I am confused. Does the F150 Lariat (or Plat) have the option of parking itself? Critical selling point for my wife.. I also trust you over my dealer. I reviewed Ford's site description of the "Enhanced" Park Assist and it doesn't look much different. They also don't post a description for the Park Assist.
This Maga Red is just gorgeous, it's like the color of fine wine. This is the Mercedes-Benz S Class of trucks.
I really do hope it's gorgeous as I'm buying a Magma red Platinum without seeing it in the flesh, trouble is in Australia there's not even a panel the dealer can show me... too bad if I don't like it, will be waiting to be bedazzled hopefully.
Darren Rizzo am jealous. That's the color i wanted. Wasn't one to be found in Maryland. Ended up with black with black interior. That magma is so deep red it looks black. Picked up the truck memorial day. So far I am very happy. Hope you enjoy your new truck as much as I do mine. The massaging seats are super nice.

On Memorial day I signed papers for our 2018 f150 platinum in black. Really wish we had found the magma color in platinum. Unfortunately they were only able to find in black with black leather interior. Am learning what all the bells and whistles do. Found out that the seats not only have heat & A/C they also have a message option. Very easy for me with bad knees ant back to get in and out of the truck with ease, seats are very roomy & comfortable. Back seat is also very roomy & comfortable.

I don't two with my truck. With that said, I got the towing mirrors anyway. IT MAKES SEEING SO MUCH EASIER! It's very close to not having a blind spot.
Besides the front grill, my 17 platinum is the same truck. I'm still trying to like that new front grill.
I've seen the magma red in person and it looks more like a deep brown than a red to me. And if there isn't direct light hitting it, it looks black.

Aweaome vid. I just bought a 2018 f150 platinum, but forgot to order the max trailer tow mirrors!!!! I got the max tow package but didnt realize mirrors didnt come with that:/ any chance you have part number for platinum style tow mirrors and door switch?
No I don't but I'm not sure they can be added through parts and put on because the switch would be different. You should be able to find out from your local Ford dealer parts department.

It does not lock, it has a capless fuel filler door.
whats the difference between the drop in or spray in on the bed? And is there a sports package for the 2018 platinum
spray in bedliner is a sprayed on material, Rhino Liner. Drop in is a plastic liner that is slipped into the bed. a Sport Package is not available on the Platinum
Does the 2018 Platinum has a wet/snow mode? And if so, does it turn on the 4A, like the Raptor? Or it just manages the throttle and gearing?
I does have 4x4 shift on the fly with 2H, 4A, 4H, 4L modes

I saw the 2018 Limited has, besides the tow, and sport modes selectable on the steering wheel, a dedicated wet/snow mode. I assume the Platinum is not different. What does this mode do?
did ford do away with the polished veneers? my 2015 platinum has polished veneers . beautiful truck no doubt
You usually see that on the wood appliques, they have gone to the aluminum look appliques for 2018.

No you can't put the 2017 grill and headlamps on the 2018.
callofdutyguy9. You can do it for around $3500 if you did it yourself but I highly doubt you could ever get a shop to do it, if they would agree to it , I'm guessing it would be around $2000 - $3000 just for labor.
I'm a Chev and Nissan guy, But I'll admit that front end looks good. Tho the lower end models that are painted and non painted just don't look as great. Also dislike the chrome below the window.
i'll take that truck spray in the bed liner some all terrain tires 9.5 in 4x4 no sunroof go ahead and chip it up stronger , whats it capable of 395 hp / 425 hp as long as the rods won't break awesome I might do some escorting oversized loads

Yes, wow, I can't believe I missed that, Ambient Lighting is standard on the Platinum. Located in the cupholders, storage compartment in front of that, door compartments and front and rear foot wells.

I've seen a lot of complaints about this. Seems hard to believe they would mess around with their most important product. Big mistake IMO.

Long McArthur I first saw top I'm referring 2 with a Silverado. my father has a 2017 Lariat. He has the one where it goes up half way. I don't like that conversion. The tarp I'm talking about folds over 3 times.
There are all kinds of different bed covers, we usually don't put bed covers on our vehicles, most of the ones we get are available through Ford Accessories.

You can adjust the ambient lighting in the settings tab, scroll to the right, should be an Ambient Lighting button. If there is not update the software. I noticed our 2017s had it but one of our 2018 lariat was missing the button.

Thanks for your question. I'm not 100%, I figured that the park assist on the 2018 F-150 would be the upgraded Enhanced Active Park Assist. I did not test it out, let me find out.

Power Stroke Diesel Engine is not available in the 2018 Ford F-150s, but there is a new 3.3L V6 Engine available in the XL or XLT.
Long McArthur they are releasing a diesel engine this fall for 2018 models

10/1/17, I have a 2015 Taurus w/a trailer, cheaper than any truck if you don't always need a truck. While getting my car serviced, I'm looking @ trucks to kill time. F-250 4door--$70k! Raptor, $82k. One of the cheesiest things on this truck is that fold-down running board; those have to be the 1st things to go bad. Why can't they just have the fixed rails? All this junk not only drive up the price but cost megabux to fix when they break.

Donald Buzbee You can turn the auto stop start system off if that doesn’t suit you. The button is right on top of the screen in the middle.
Switch on the dash to turn off or you can change the settings so it is never one. Easy peasy.

I'm pissed. Can't get 22" wheels on the Platinum. To get the big wheels you have to go up to the Limited, but then you can't get it in the new Magma Red color.
You can order them through Ford Parts and have them put on the Platinum.

IMHO, the 22" F-150 wheels that come standard on the Limited should be available as an an option on the Platinum. This is already a $65,000.00 truck. Why should I have to buy a second set of wheels/tires.

I know this a REALLY OLD VIDEO! With that said, TRUCKS NEED TOW MIRRORS even if you don't tow. I literally don't have a blind spot in my truck due to my tow mirrors.
I love my 2016 f150 5.0 great lakes edition. I would not want electric running boards. They look great but another item that can go bad thats a waste

I think I disagree with you. I love the idea of those running boards up and out of the way. Plus, I think trucks look much better without running boards. I do have worries about them in winter, but I've heard many comments saying they're dependable. Each to his own!
I like the power running boards. The truck looks cleaner when tucked away. That is my opinion.
The running boards are nice. Makes it very easy to get in and out the truck if you have bad knees and or are little older. If I did not have the fold away running boards I would not have been able to purchase the 2018 f150 platinum. Wouldn't have been able to get in and out. The other type are to high up,

The 5.0L is the standard engine in the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. With the new 10 Speed Automatic transmission it now gets 395 horsepower and 400 ft-lb of torque, both up from 385/387 from 2017.

Agree, keep in mind that this isn't a total new truck but a refresh. With only 3 years on a total redesign, Ford has no reason to update it. It is the #1 selling truck.

Beware the Ecoboost! Had Fords all my life - F150s, F250s, Explorers, Expeditions, but my 2012 3.5 Ecoboost blew up twice and Ford ran from the problem. Original engine disintegrated at 83K miles, used replacement went to 91K miles. Loved the truck but cant afford new engines every 80-90K. I will never buy another Ford piece of junk!

Ford doesn't put bedliners in automatically, gives the owner an option of drop in or spray in. They would be optional equipment.
