I’ll never forget watching Pacquiao punish Margacheato that night. One of the most well-earned beatdowns in modern ring history!
Pacman fractured his skull and put him into retirement and cotto did the same. ❤
Mosley broke him first though.... Both fights were SATISFYING
I'll never forget when Moseley did it the night they found the cheating
I'll never forget when marquez puts pactard sleep
@@ArturoFernandez-fe8ep yup marquecheato with a sack of roids and a lucky punch ran back to chololo to avoid rematch to his grave hahahhaa
What I don't understand is how they allowed this dude to fight again. He effectively brought a weapon into the ring and criminally assaulted several other boxers. He shouldn't have been disciplined, he should have had criminal charges brought against him and gone to prison. We're not talking about deflating a football or putting sap on a baseball here.. we're talking about assault and battery with a weapon that can cause life altering injury or death.
Yep, banned for life - that's what he deserved and it should have been his fate.
At the end of the day the controversy was good for business. It’s unfortunate.
They never actually found the plaster.. it was like a tiny bit of paste.. he absolutely cheated but they didn’t catch it
@@brenttirwin6737 "Prior to the fight, in which Margarito was knocked out in the ninth round, Mosley's trainer, Naazim Richardson, had objected to the way Margarito's left hand was wrapped. When the wrap was cut off, officials found a suspect bandage wrap inside the knuckle pad that would be placed over Margarito's hands.
Richardson then insisted that the wrap on Margarito's right hand be checked and another identical illegal pad was discovered. Margarito eventually had his hands rewrapped and went on to lose the fight."
It's pretty clear that whatever it was, they caught it. It was more than just a tiny bit of paste.
@@brenttirwin6737 imagine putting plaster in gloves to box instead of going in the ring like a true disciplined warrior dude is pathetic 🤦🏾♂️
Not only did he cheat against Cotto, but he cheated and beat Kermit Cintron and Sergio Martinez in their prime with his plastered hands. Watch those fights and the way he hit them, he had to have it. Margarito never had knockout power before. What a scumbag
Don't forget Paul Williams but Paul beat him tho. No telling what damage he did to Paul's future. Later Paul was getting knocked out.
Margarita was a known switch hitter and I think it's why they let him away with it.
Don’t forget Paul Williams! Paul won but got cut and bruised badly.
@@elliottburgess9562 it was like he was using it just occasionally. Paul Williams didn't even looked bothered with his punching power. but I have no doubt he used it against Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto.
And he never had knock-out or brutalizing power after he got caught. Cottos face looked completely different after the second fight compared to the first. Watching Cotto win and watching Manny beat the sht out of him was so satisfying.
It’s hard to watch that first Cotto fight knowing what Margarito did. A real villain!
Ikr
@ecarrillo yeah well thank good for shame Mosley for pointing out the cheating Margarito did especially against the fight with cotton because in the rematch cotton finaly beat him and if he would got catch ahead of time cotto so or have won twice Mosley would have beati g Margarito twice after then Manny paquiaa really did some damage what goes around comes around
That’s why the ref let Pac-Man keep beating the crap out of him instead of stopping the fight. He knew Margarito had it coming
When I saw the fight live I really thought he was a WARRIOR but then I found out he’s just an asshole smh
After hearing his explanation, I kind of agree with him , I was so happy he beat one of my favorite fighters in cotto because I am Mexican but also sad , but then I felt rage and hate towards Margo
Cotto was definitely a beast even with all them hits with them cast he stood his ground
margarito and his camp was also making fun of freddy roach and his Parkinson's disease before the fight, he was just asking for a biblical ass whoopin
He deserves a few more!
His name is forever stained in boxing. Even Mexicans call him Margacheato.
Old boxing matches were truly amazing for several reasons. Firstly, the lack of clinching and absence of fear of losing among the opponents resulted in an intense and exhilarating experience. Additionally, these matches showcased a diverse range of boxing styles, adding further excitement to the sport.
Agreed, this was the last good Era of boxing before all we cared about was being undefeated.
Cotto, Mosley, Gotti, Manny, Ward, Diego Corales, Luis Castillo. All Dawgs! *respectfully of course.
Dude this narrator is brutal sounds like he’s announcing a movie trailer
He is really annoying to be honest. Dude it's just cheating in boxing... not a movie about serial killer that killed 100 people lol.
@@joshashe2087 LITERALLY weaponizing your fists in boxing is illegal and kind of a crime i think considering they pound each other in the head for over 6 minutes
I don’t like it. I don’t think I can finish this video. Would be great if someone else narrated
If you don’t like the narrator kick rocks. This isn’t a Shakespeare poem weirdos. That’s his real voice.
@@joshashe2087lol I feel as though he’s about to say at any moment “they were high school sweethearts totally in love…until they weren’t”
I remember the first Cotto/Margarito fight. Margarito just kept coming and walking through Cotto’s punches. Cotto was out boxing him but you could see the punches were wearing him down unlike the second fight where he wasn’t seeing stars with every hit. I hate that Cotto took that first L off a cheater. Cotto was still great but wasn’t the same boxer after this travesty
I used to love watching cotto work! He was really fundamentally sound. Great fighter and a humble champion
I agree. It was hard watching Manny and Cotto fight because I like them both. Both great humble fighters.
My friend Josh was a boxer and when we were like 17/18 he was supposed to box this boy and the kid rubbed like peppers or something that smelled like peppers on his gloves.. you couldn’t see it but Josh smelled it when they started and the glove touched his face, and told the ref and the kid got disqualified.
Him and two of his peoples were yelling but it was their doing so they had to deal with the consequences.. 🤷🏽♀️
If you’re not a good fighter don’t cheat just practice more or find a something you’re good at! Especially when it comes to combat sports where you can kill someone or permanently damage them.
He was trying to mess with Josh’s vision (we all assumed) by doing that but luckily he caught it before the guy got it in his eyes.
I’ll never forget that man, some people just fight dirty.
In a professional fight, there's such a thing as fighting dirty. I agree with you on this point. When it's for all the marbles, you do what you have to to survive. In the sport of boxing, cheating is an abomination.
Disgusting bro
Indeed, dirty fighters in a game with rules are among the lowest one can sink, especially in a sport where beating eachother up in a fair manner is literally the whole point of said sport.
It's funny how Margarito evaded the questions that Cotto made about the wrap in the photo.
He completely avoided the question about the wrapping on his hand when cotto confronted him.
Had a politician moment
Can't stand a cheater, No honor at all 😢
I watched the fight a few years ago and was so glad Miguel Cotto got his get back. He seems like such a friendly guy and didn't deserve to be cheated out of a win.
I was a huge Cotto fan. It’s hard to say but I feel like Coto was never the same after that fight. I’m glad he got his revenge but the damage was done. Shame on Margarito.
I grew watching boxing my whole life and Cotto was my mom’s favorite boxer. She always compared Cotto’s face after that first fight to minced meat and she also believes he was never the same. She thinks it changed the way he approached his fights. His revenge and Margarito’s beat down from Manny is beyond satisfying
Yea, I can imagine that fucking with your psyche. Like a great driver who gets into a bad car accident and never really feels confident driving again as he once did.
Wraps or not, that's boxing for ya. Just look at Margarito after the Manny fight. His right eye was never the same and forced him to retire.
Cotto has a very aesthetically pleasing style. Elite foot work and good punch output.
That's he's name now Margarito (Plaster Boy!!)😂😂
Margarito tried to speedrun to the top with cheats enabled. Turns out it was a speedrun all the way to the bottom.
I hope Mosley gave a hug and bought a beer for Naazim Richardson after that fight. Richardson claimed that he didn't think that Margarito neccessarily knew his trainer was putting plaster in his wraps as he didn't seem to mind re-wrapping his hands. Maybe Richardson was just being gracious. I wish every fighter had a trainer like that. Damn.
I'm Puerto Rican most of my friends are Mexican, back then we were talking so much shit about who'd win. When Coto lost it hurt, but when it was found out that Margarito was cheating it broke their hearts. When the rematch happened all the Mexicans I knew wanted Margarito punished and where supporting me like I was the one fighting. Boxing man, such a beautiful sport.
Just watch Pacman in this fight compared to any other fight he had, more specifically notice the way in which he delivers his strikes. Pac is a very skilled fighter so he has a deep pool to pull from but we all know the man throws hands with extremely bad intentions that just look so damn violent. Now notice this fight where it appears Pac is ever so slightly letting up on his punches, not for the purpose of letting up on dude, rather just take enough off so you don't knock dude out too fast....
Pacman is a legit dude, by all accounts seems to be a good human being and truly an honorable man; so I really feel he wanted to teach this dude a lesson and beat his ass for as long as possible.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
Manny milked the fight to make him pay…Manny went for quicker strikes instead of harder ones to wear him down and batter his face all to prove he wasn’t worthy of being in the ring with Manny
it was something nobody else would be upset about, he got revenge for Cotto and Mosley and others who suffered from the plaster punches
To Margarito: Blame Lawrence Cole for not stopping the fight during their duel with Manny. The fight can be stopped in 11th rd however Laurence seems to enjoy the beating.
The Fall of a bully cheater.
I enjoyed it just as much!!!
Pac-Man ate him up 😂😂😂👏👏
Because Pacquiao NEVER used the juice and won all those 8 division championships cleanly. Interesting how he never defended the junior middle weight title after beating The Tijuana Tornado even though he was able to break his opponent's orbit.
ya i agree, i see fights where cole stops it quite premature like fundura vs.ahmed, but to pacquiao vs. margarito, he knows margarito had a fractured eye socket on the third round, but he closed his eyes,as if saying just kill the guy nobody cares ,he stop ugas fight but ugas still can see,
@@mstancl That's because he got hurt in the margarito fight, even tho it looked one sided margarito landed a few liver punch on him that almost dropped him, it hurt him real bad to the point that he was peeing blood after the fight.
He didn't want to stay in that weight division anymore. He was too small for that division.
For a long time, there was talk about the top boxers ducking Marguerito because he was so good, little did anyone know why he was so good. Roberto Duran had the nickname Hands Of Stone but this guy actually had hands of stone.
The Paris Puncher...The champ of Plaster. Plaster of Paris master of disaster. That would cause real pain like the fighter who removed all the padding Louis Rezo. Makes it even sadder thinking these guys say they didnt know and at an advanced age still wanna fight. "I didn't know, let me fight it won't happen again." Sad
there’s no proof of margarito fighting in fights with plaster, there’s only proof of him attempting to vs mosley
@@reecerucker9695 It's true that there is no absolute proof but he was beating everybody before he got caught and getting beat by everybody after he got caught.
@@jeffb5785 Mmmmm 🤔
@@jeffb5785 Also note how ineffective his blows against Cotto were in the rematch. Different as night and day. Maybe it's not proof, but it's awfully compelling evidence.
Did Cotto SAY he FELT a difference in punching power between the two fights!?!?!??
He sure did
Yes he did. He said “look at my face now” after the second fight
@@maxin3231 link?

@QC Productions lol... so, you're lazy and lying??
The combo that Shane got him out with was masterful. Check out the timing with the off speed of the first slow right hand.
It was so great the way he was Humiliated
I thought there was a tradition of someone from each team observing the opposing fighters hands get wrapped, as well a final glove inspection by the ref?
Loved how rhey mentioned how floyd would only take a fight with pacman once he got older
Floyd is 2 years older than Pac
I heard he recently got in a fight with an elderly women for cutting in line a grocery store and she beat his ass too.
He could have killed Cotto, a father of 4 children.
Bruh
i love it when you subtly said "Margarita" in one of the clips. Lowkey jabbing this cheater hahahaha..
I remember the kickname "plaster basterd" being used to name Margarito back in the day 🤣🤣
Why the hell did Margarito still allowed to fight after cheating
I agree with your sentiment, but at least the real fighters in that weight class/era would get their redemption against him.
These are all "accusations" there is no "Evidence" that Margarito was ever cheating. Otherwise he wouldn't be allowed to box again. This is a one sided story that looks pretty convincing when professionally put together by a dramatic Media crew, Just like when Tyson Fury was "supposedly" cheating against Wilder?? THERE IS ALWAYS a member of your opponents team literally "WATCHING" while you get your hands WRAPPED and GLOVED.... This little you tube clip makes it look like its a proven fact that Margarito was cheating but there is no evidence. if you watch closely they first accuse Margarito of "removing padding" from his Opponents gloves and putting plaster on his own gloves? How the efff is it possible that Margarito or his team is able to get the opponents gloves and remove padding then somehow return the opponents gloves without ANYONE noticing anything??? and no one around notices anything????? There are 50,000 people at these events. I wasn't there so I don't know for sure but this all just seems like bullshit to me
Haha, I remember Cotto and Manny beating the shit out of this cheating bastard. So nice to watch. 🤣
Cotto definitely got revenge on him
mosley beat him first, and worst than anyone else
It was Manny Pacman Frist before the Second Cotto fight.
@@reecerucker9695 Did You see the Fight with the Pacman??
@@reecerucker9695 lol SSM did not beat him worse than Pacquiao
"Where cheating goes wrong". A video about a guy who get's away with cheating.
I remember that fight with Pacman. He strung him along always pulling back just to beat on him. He taught that cheater a lesson and he got what he deserved.
After the fight with Pacquiao, Margarito looked like an old man.
You've got to have mad respect for the guy he was pounding on with salted gloves. He was being rocked with bomb after bomb and be STILL went forward after him.
Revenge is sweet, thank you Catto to win the rematch you are a real hero
Margarito first fought Pacquiao before fighting Cotto for the 2nd time.
Pac-Man put the icing on the cake, awesome!
One problem with this video. Pretty sure Margacheato got his eye busted up by Manny before he fought Cotto the 2nd time.
"We've got a fight going on in there, and the one whose landing loaded gloves..." - Oof.
To this day he still denying the use of plaster.
15:00 that was a nice moment with the ref there sweet man
Sugar Shane, punching pride of Pomona and a student of the sport. So disciplined that he'd rather take an honest loss than a crooked win. He effed that cheater up and sent a message to anyone thinking about doing the same. Thanks, Champ!
Karma is such beautiful lady❤.
Panama Lewis and Luis Resto sent young promising fighter, "Irish" Billy Collins to early retirement, and an early grave when they removed most all of the padding from Resto's gloves. Collins was brutalized the entire fight due to Resto's all but bare knuckle punches.
Collins' face was a swollen mess, both eyes lumped up and blackened. Resto tore Collins' iris with his padless gloves, and Collins was never the same again.
Less than a year later,Billy Collins was dead after falling into a deep depression.
I remember how he really Damaged Cotto in their fight but Sugar Shane Mosley's Trainer saw the illegal wraps in and on his hands before their fight and Mosley nearly Destroyed him .
Ironically, Paquiao hit just like he did have plaster in his wraps. Other PacMan opponents have spoken of seemingly being hit by bricks.
hes a genetic specimen how else do you think he went all the way up to welterweight and fought like that
Punching walls and hard shit really makes your hand into a rock. But Is gotta be done smartly
@@wuutnopepe613very true. As a reckless kid I turned my (right hand especially) fists/knuckles into str8 bricks - but I did it like an idiot broke my knuckle(s) so many times from punching brick walls & shit smh
Any moment now we gonna hear from some mayweather fans “hE wAs tAkInG sTeRoIdS.” Smh lol
Cotto was so tough that even with his cheating rat loading his gloves up he barely got the job done. I struggle to understand how the dirty scumbag got away with it.
Good video mate
0:22 Ali wasn't above cheating either... He got hurt, then his corner cut his gloves between rounds to get extra recovery time.... He ended up getting a W, instead of the L he had coming.
Idk if that was ali or Dundee. But either way that, bullshit as it is, doesn't pose a risk to the opponent. Just for that reason, it's not in the same league cheating-wise for me
He needed time against liston... Something got in his eye
he infamously used the rope-a-dope…the biggest cheat that wasn’t technically cheating but still wasn’t sportsmanlike
@@RyanMclainit changes their punches thus changes the match, it’s blatantly cheating even if it seems like nothing
Margarito block pacman punches with his face! haha 😂
i don't claim to be a major boxing fan specifically, but i like sports and often watch random clips of various sports. as far as boxing is concerned, i have seen quite a few clips of times when boxers have cheated by tampering with their gloves / hand strapping in some way. surely a simple solution to avoid this is to have a rule that an official must be present to observe when you are strapping your hands / putting on your gloves etc, and sign-off that everything is above board. seems like a no-brainer to me, especially for high profile fights & title bouts.
Dude knew he couldnt beat Cotto so had to cheat.
I was a huge fan of Cotto he was truly a talented and amazing champion, a true warrior
Watching cotto lose was 1 of the greatest things I’ve seen margartio gave him a dose of cold reality just like when cotto low blowed Judah hahahaha
He came from nothing then to something... Because of his dedication, hardwork and love to what his doing. I don't think we can see another like him in future.❤
Margarito the cheese and tomatoe pizza could effectively have you murdered!
Margarioto comes into the fight with a weapon.
#MortalKombat
Manny fights so beautifully I have never seen another fighter with his style
very nice
When cheating goes wrong...they sick Manny on u lol
Cheating in boxing should be considered assault with a deadly weapon...
He rematched Coto after the Pacquiao fight.. How are you going to note that he targeted the eye but not talk about where the orbital bone fracture came from to begin with before you put them in the wrong order?
Your absolutely correct the Pacquiao fight was before the Cotto rematched. Pacquiao broke Margarito's orbital bone which made it easier for Cotto to beat him by targeting the injury.
@@damodeste it made it easy cus his ass couldnt cheat. 😂
He reminds me of that guy in the boxing game for the snes where he spits in your eyes and blinds you, then he happens to be a Mexican fighter too
Masked Muscle. In Super Punch Out. He's supposed to be a reference to luchador wrestlers. They have traditions about wearing masks when they wrestle.
Attempted murder is attempted murder
Manny Pac sent Antonio to Margarito-ville. Beautiful beat down!
That's insane damn 💪😫🥺✌️
He had that fast set 5 compound
It was so satisfying to see Margarito get a well deserved ass kicking.
Margarito had been using plaster of paris his whole profesional career, til he got caught
I believe Margarito started cheating after the loss to Paul Williams. After loosing that fight he came back and nobody could overcome his relentless attack and almost took off the ear of an opponent....
I agree. I always thought the Williams fight shook Margarito's confidence. He hit Williams with everything but the kitchen sink and Williams still threw 100 punches/rd. Like it didn't even slow Williams down. That hurts a fighters confidence.
true. because he fought Joshua Clottey before it and Clottey seems unbothered by Margarito, same can be say to Paul Williams. I think he's using it occasionally due to the visible damage he did against Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto.
I agree. As soon as he realized that he wasn't hurting the guys he was fighting he decided to cheat. How he remained in boxing is beyond me. He should have been thrown out of boxing and all his belts taken away.
2:07 "15th year of life" really trying to hit that word quota🤣 i enjoy the video tho
Manny got him and so did Sugar Shane and whipped his rear end but what pisses me off is boxing governing body still allowed that cheater to keep fighting
He fought PacMan first then he Fought Cotto for the second Time, that’s how Cotto knew to go after the eye PacMan had already F’ed Up.
What is funny is Shane a known cheater (steroids) exposed Margarito a fellow cheater.
Thats why i love Cotto. No Quit even when being hit with Plaster! The man had an iron chin and was a complete warrior!
13:01 Stallone approves the victory :D
Margarito net worth est. $15m. Yeah, he’s really learnt a lesson there, cheating pays handsomely. Maybe the losses and the Pac-man battering hurt but he’s comforted by a wealth that’ll see him live in luxury. I wouldn’t mind being $10 behind him!
God sees everything don’t worry. One day wie will all day and everyone is getting what they deserve.
Antonio Margarito a good guy
That man was supposed to go to jail and they still let him fight and make money that show you how corrupt boxing is
You can see he's not nearly as confident after he gets his ass beat the fight after he was getting checked for plaster
" What comes around, boxing around", boxing logic 🥊
Regardless of the cheatings... The era of Pacquiao, Cotto, Marquez, Morales, Barerra, Margarito, Hatton etc are the best years of boxing. They are all brave warriors. No one is ducking just to protect their 0 defeats. Unlike this era of Spence, Crawford. Even this Japanese Turtle Inoue is afraid of the Filipino Johnriel Casimero.
Called inoue a Japanese turtle lmao
@@crisis514what’s funny about such a mean comment?
@@shehuyakubu3751 it was a joke, and i like inoue alot

Arturo Gatti won't be forgotten
margarito vs cotto if you watched that unfold you know the rivarly sill lives to this day
Don't the boxers' hands get checked by the officials/observers before the fight? Are any post-fight checks carried out?
Margarito was taller than everyone in the division. Even after getting caught cheating he still could've won fights but he refused to learn how to use his jab and fight on the outside. He didn't have the natural power to knock guys out and BOXING behind the jab is how he should've been BOXING all along... no one sniffed Margarito's farts more than Margarito... and he got what was coming to him.
thanks itachi
How does your team not catch them loading his wraps when they are supposed to watch the wrapping happen from beginning to end? That should not only get them banned from the sport indefinitely, but criminal charges should be brought against all of those involved. Felonious assault, assault with a dangerous weapon with intent, ALL OF IT!
Two words: Panama Lewis.
I remember when they finally caught him cheating, when that trainer saw his wraps and started shouting to the ref about it and everyone started crowding rounding like "ahhh wtf, look"
there should be independent bodies present at the time their hands are wraps to be fair for a clean fight, whatever goes around will come around, Pacman punished him to revenge for others.
CHEATARITO 😂
Well done!
Yeah the night Shane beat Margarito was also the same time Shane was caught using a Banned substance as well if I'm not mistaken it might been the night Shane fought Vargas the 1st or 2nd time
shane didnt fail a test for that fight. and he didnt pop for a steroid. the problem with the banned substance list is theres a bunch of shit on that list thats not even exactly performance enhancers
The Margarito fight was in 2009. The fight Mosley was using the cream and the clear was the 2003 rematch with De La Hoya. There's a 6 year difference. Also Mosley never tested positive. He was implicated after the FBI raid on Balco. Conte said Shane was a client. I believe it. But it had nothing to do with the Margarito fight
Cotto was such a beast
As dave Chappel said , u need to know when to walk away
