Absolutely spot on with the comments around running backs. Smart teams will just replenish through draft to keep them cheap. Getting a good 2nd contract will be difficult for RBs unless they can prove they are legit game changers. The Patriots will always just reload at positions like that via draft and move on - rather than getting some emotional commitment and overpaying. Other teams should follow suit and not just at RB.

It’s true Mills will have to continue to prove himself since he was a 3rd Rd pick, but he was the second best rookie QB last year without a doubt. Lawrence, Wilson, and Fields got every excuse there was but Mills had just as bad a situation as those three and he played better. I’m a Jets fan no excuses here the dude showed up and he was better than Tyrod who is/was a good backup in the NFL.

Jones and Mills were the only 2 with a positive TD:INT, and Mills’s last 5 games truly showed the development he made since the start of the season, which included out-dueling Herbert and the Chargers. • @jakewoodisgood1

I don't get how a rookie QB that was playing better than all of the other Rookie QBs by the end of the season and showed the most improvement over his rookie year is the one they say doesn't have a real chance at becoming a good NFL QB??? Like all these other QBs get all these excuses made for them but a Davis Mills that was playing with the wildly considered worst roster in the NFL, 32nd run game, bottom 5 defense, bottom 5 O-line and also I believe the 32nd ranked WR room (despite Cooks looking good) gets no excuses?? Somehow managed to look good and out dueled Justin Herbert for the win, completely outplayed Mac Jones but still lost, and had the least amount of help as any QB in the league. I get giving Lawrence a mulligan on the year but let's not act like Mills had it any easier with David Culley as a head coach either.

So davis mills was the second best rookie last year with one of the worst nfl defenses, and worst NFL running game, with only brandin cooks to throw to: He still was the second best rookie down the last 5 games, only threw 3 interceptions in 8 games, and what did the texans do?
Draft an interior o-line to help the running game to improve, draft a running back to improve, draft a slot receiver who is capable of being a release valve, and improved the defense at all 3 levels.
You knocked the jets for not investing in the o-line, but didnt really give any props to the texans for doing so when the had the worst o-line and running game last year.

Bears gave Justin and offense 3× the resources last yr and this.
Last year the bears spent multiple 1dt rd picks on the offense what do you mean not trying to do something to help offense? Its time to invest in the d every other yr smart teams allocate to resources to the other side of the ball.
Bears hired a defensive HC because it's what you build around a poor passer elite running QB. Throw all the elite wr at them that you want it don't change anything. see ravens!
