I used to hate Herd because his outlandish takes but I give him credit because he is a great communicator and can suck you in. Also when he has a guest on his show - he lets them shine - he’s one of the best interviewers in the business
Im a huge Colin fan. I've been watching him for 20 years and I don't always agree but I think a lot of times he says things that will just get people riled up for clicks / ratings. Great dude.

@@Voltaire80 would be a bit pretentious to attempt to gain philosophical or spiritual value from sports commentary. it is vastly more valuable to be interesting. colin at least knows his job is culturally worthless--and he seems to relish it. better than the absurdities of the debate shows
Cowherd’s comments on what makes success were the most eye-opening to me. Obsession, passion, commitment. I’m such a failure because I never found those things.

I realized what cowherd's energy is. It's the same energy as your dad giving you advice. And while you don't agree on everything, you gotta admit, when he's right, he tends to nail it. Bill Simmons has kinda become the same way. Like, he had the Luka draft read like a book before everyone else and people were out there looking like he was crazy. And you look back, he friggin nailed it. Colin might take some swings and misses, but when he makes contact it tends to be a home run

I say this all the time. Colin is way better when he’s not doing his FS1 show. When he’s free to talk about whatever he wants, he’s very entertaining.

I started listening to Colin since 2009 when I was in college when Colin was at ESPN. My daily drive to school was so enjoyable. Dude hella smart.
