If you love old school comedy then I dare you to take this challenge. It is one of the hardest ones I could come up with. Are You Up For The Challenge????
I'm laughing so much, I have tears rolling down my face!! I love how Dean Martin tries his best to stay in character but can't help but to laugh each time. Foster Brooks was one funny man!! 😂😂😂
Mary Shoemaker because it’s no longer entertainment.. it’s pandering to their audience and chasing that laugh. humping the stage and using the F work in every sentence is considered comedy now. 😕
This was my favorite comedy show ever as a teenager. My dad and I would laugh until we could not stand it any longer. I am still a big fan of Dean Martin all these years later. Why can't we have any good shows on TV these days?
Classic comedy. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. The Foster Brooks has been dead for 18 years at this point but his act is still hilarious today.
I loved how Dean Martin couldn't hold a straight face when Foster Brooks was 'close talking' and Foster WAS keeping a straight face acting inebriated and oblivious..... Absolutely HILARIOUS! I miss them both!
If Foster Brooks and Tim Conway had ever tried making each other laugh, that awesome occasion would be the first non-earthquake event ever to register on the Richter scale!
Dean not making rehearsal was the thing that made his show. He just was told what the skits was about and that was it. It was his choice . The staff had a good time seeing how Dean was going to get though the skits and the was no out take. Dean insisted on leaving everything in the show.
I actually met the man in 1988 in the Disney land hotel... he was with a lovely lady of at least 22 and he shared a table with us.. was a great night.. such a gentleman.
I grew up with Eddie Murphy and mr Bean, and watch Russel Peters, Fluffy, C.K, Kevin Hart, and love alot of them.... But THIS stuff is still the thing that makes me laugh the moste, -even after watching them 10+ times...
Dino: You ever pulled out the wrong tooth? Foster: No, but I pulled out a guy's tongue once.Dino: Oh yeah ,what did he say? Foster he said AUGHGHAGHHUGHAHH! LOL
TroyandMilva Dean always had a wonderful sense of humour. I love to watch how long he could hold out before he finally lost it! He was great working with Jonathan Winters and Bob Newhart too.
Wow!!!!! He was one of a kind. I was REALLY young when this was going on. Holy shit what a talent!!! Foster Brooks. Thanks for being so damn funny and a part of our lives in this crazy day and age. Thank you for making Dean and I laugh hysterically😅
He was the entertainment at our Company Christmas party at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. Meeting him was the highlight of my year. He was such a sweet man and the funniest guy I have ever seen.
Amen. And that first time he appeared on Steve's show, they spoofed his wife, Jane Meadows. Everyone except Jane knew what he was going to do, but she was told that he was a serious network exec, or some such story, and when he did his usual drunk act, the camera stayed on her face the whole time while she had this incredulous expression on it. She had this "How could he dare to show up intoxicated for this show?" demeanor during his entire appearance. It was hilarious!
There is a video of the director/producer of the Dean Martin show here on youtube, and he said the entire show consisted of the guests trying to make each other bust up. Foster could certainly hold his own.
I am supposed to be going out but I can’t coz I am laughing out loud and nearly wetting myself watching these wonderfully funny and brilliantly timed clips. Could watch them all day and Dean Martin? What a pro!
I remember when these originally aired. And, one thing that made Dean lose it like he does (I saw an interview with someone, and according to him) is because Dean almost NEVER showed up for rehearsals. So he usually HAD NO IDEA WHAT Foster Brooks was going to say. In one of these scenes Dean is laughing so hard that tears run down his face and he dries them with a handkerchief.
Proof Foster Brooks was one of a kind. It can not, and has not even been attempted to duplicate. No N words, no F words, no sexual references. Only a few comedians today can do that.
Theres a podcast I download which is titled along the lines of "Retro Radio" that really was comedy.... The best comedy is through story telling. One liners are ok, only a few could really nail it in my opinion. Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg were two of the best there. But Abbot and Costello, Jack Benny, The Bickersons, Burns and Allen, (Early) Bill Cosby.... they were the best story tellers...
I started laughing as soon as he started talking. I remember as a kid watching him and my Dad that didn't laugh at very much would laugh the whole time he was acting. He was the best
Absolute comedic genius the first time I saw Foster Brooks on The Dean Martin comedy roast I really thought he was two sheets to the wind and then I figured out that that's a stick
dont even have to watch the video..... impossible not to laugh along. the thought of just watching this guy makes me just crack up. favourite one has to be the frontier doctor sketch with dean martin, and he cant control himself
A much younger co-worker of mine heard the audio of these clips and asked me if that guy was drunk! Lol!! I actually had to explain to him that Foster Brooks was an old-time comic and that was his act! My co-worker just looked at me! 😄
That's hilarious! Young ppl will never know what great comedy is. Foster, Harvey, and Tim are now providing the after life with great humour. Rip to them all.
I remember seeing the first skit when I was just a little bitty kid. Maybe 7 y.o. For some reason it has always stayed in my memory. But I don't remember the script at all. I just remember very vividly Dean Martin walking in a western saloon with an arrow in his chest and it caught my attention. Always seemed weird to me that it never left my memory for some unknown reason throughout all these decades. But whats more weird is that I would come across it after all these decades when I haven't seen it since then. I'm guessing about 1974?
Man they need to make show's like this again, proper entertainment, do away with all the mind numbing reality tv, Foster Brooks is pure excellence!!
No they don't, just watch it here!
I'm laughing so much, I have tears rolling down my face!! I love how Dean Martin tries his best to stay in character but can't help but to laugh each time. Foster Brooks was one funny man!! 😂😂😂
AsoO000 wa PA q
I love how Dean cannot even look at Foster without losing it lol.
No one could have done it. We are talking about here Foster Brooks.. One look.. LOL..
Why can't this new generation of comedians be as hilariously funny as they were🤣😍❤ I love these guys 💙🤗😘🙏
Mary Shoemaker because it’s no longer entertainment.. it’s pandering to their audience and chasing that laugh. humping the stage and using the F work in every sentence is considered comedy now. 😕
The current generation of comedians are not interested in entertainment, they only see it as an opportunity to devolve into political garbage.
I agree 💯
Ok boomer
They are. U just can't see it because people are too sensitive qnd get offended
Dean: "Did you use any aether?" Foster replied: "Just enough so I don't hear the screams." Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
This was my favorite comedy show ever as a teenager. My dad and I would laugh until we could not stand it any longer. I am still a big fan of Dean Martin all these years later. Why can't we have any good shows on TV these days?
Foster Brooks was a comical genius. To crack Dean up like that, you have to hit just right with punchline delivery. Absolutely Genius!
Dean and Foster were top tier comedy. I love how Foster Brooks keeps Dean off his game. He can't keep a straight face! lol
One difference, though.....Foster Brooks acted drunk. Dean Martin WAS drunk!
Dean was crying of laughter
Classic comedy. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. The Foster Brooks has been dead for 18 years at this point but his act is still hilarious today.
Comedy was so much better back then....
So wild, he was stone cold sober while acting drunk...a genius
A perfect drunk. Being Scottish this is perfection. Rikki Fulton was another master of the wasted arts. Just brilliance .
Scott Stevenson fun fact: he never touched the stuff

Ad Robbins Williams to your
List
I can never get bored watching foster brooks and Dean Martin they put me in tears every time
And plus Dean was FAMOUS for NOT coming to rehearsals so when he saw Brooks get-up he could not HELP but laff!! GOD I MISS THAT SHOW!!!
Dean not making rehearsal was the thing that made his show. He just was told what the skits was about and that was it. It was his choice . The staff had a good time seeing how Dean was going to get though the skits and the was no out take. Dean insisted on leaving everything in the show.
Me too. 😎
What couple! Brooks was a comedy genius.
Please bring these times back I’m British and I love these shows
Brilliant. Playing drunk, I’d would have been in tears with laughter.
I actually met the man in 1988 in the Disney land hotel... he was with a lovely lady of at least 22 and he shared a table with us.. was a great night.. such a gentleman.
You meet Foster Brooks in person?
No one in hollywood like these guys anymore
There never was..........full of weirdos!!!!!!!!!
I grew up with Eddie Murphy and mr Bean, and watch Russel Peters, Fluffy, C.K, Kevin Hart, and love alot of them.... But THIS stuff is still the thing that makes me laugh the moste, -even after watching them 10+ times...
I do not think eddy Murphy
Knew fluffy bake beans
I've loved this man Foster Brooke he's so funny 🤣🤣😄🙏
Don't know what is funnier,Foster Brooks playing the drunk or Dean Martin trying to hold it together and failing. Sheer class from both of them 😎
Foster was absolutely unflappable! Whenever I need a pick-me-up, I just need to find one of his clips.
No one could keep a straight face around Foster Brooks. He could make anyone break character.
Interesting that foster would break character and take a straight bow before exiting. Very old school clown tradition. Classy.
andy massingham ffrrrtrrr
andy massingham funnily enough he was a non-drinker and did that to let people know that he was straight t the time.
That's what I was thinking, makes more sense...
Foster Brooks is legendary!
Classic that Foster keeps a straight face
Feeling a bit down today and this video made me laugh. Thank you Foster and Dean from Paradise.
Dino: Well, I guess I am a lucky man. Brooks: Hows that? Dean: He could have been a midget lolololol
yup, yup, yup!
- I lost a lot of blood
- no you aint..it right here on the floor...
Dino: You ever pulled out the wrong tooth? Foster: No, but I pulled out a guy's tongue once.Dino: Oh yeah ,what did he say? Foster he said AUGHGHAGHHUGHAHH! LOL
The fact that Foster could crack up a straight man, like Dino, speaks volumes. How we need them both!
TroyandMilva Dean always had a wonderful sense of humour. I love to watch how long he could hold out before he finally lost it! He was great working with Jonathan Winters and Bob Newhart too.
The ultimate drunk impersonator,
I failed as soon as Dean Martin started laughing when Foster Brooks stood up behind the bar.
All my favorite clips of Foster Brooks in one place! You gotta love him.
Wow!!!!! He was one of a kind. I was REALLY young when this was going on. Holy shit what a talent!!! Foster Brooks. Thanks for being so damn funny and a part of our lives in this crazy day and age. Thank you for making Dean and I laugh hysterically😅
This may be the only skit Dean had without a cigarette.
He was the entertainment at our Company Christmas party at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. Meeting him was the highlight of my year. He was such a sweet man and the funniest guy I have ever seen.
I believe you 100 percent.
He plays the best drunk.😅
BEST drunk acting EVER!
The bit starting at 17:04 always got me. You know it's coming but when it does, Martin's anticipation and Brooks' delivery make it hilarious.
I think Foster took his teeth out without warning Deano in that first clip.
Them was the good ole days when comedy was clean ! Miss Foster Brooks & Dean Martin ! And Sammy Davis Jr.
Foster Brooks was really good when he was alive. True acting drunk
I love how Foster Brooks never break chracter
These guys are wonderful! I actually laugh out loud!
Never seen Dean Martin has happy has he was working with foster brooks
Never dirty. Always funny. And Foster didn't drink. That was the funniest part. First seen on Steve Allen.
Comedy at it's finest nothing vulgar just good old fashioned fun
this guy was the best comedian in his time.
Gilbert Woodward In ANY time!!
I am supposed to be going out but I can’t coz I am laughing out loud and nearly wetting myself watching these wonderfully funny and brilliantly timed clips. Could watch them all day and Dean Martin? What a pro!
Part of the best part is watching dean wiping his eyes
Absolutely hilarious! Hahahahahaha!!!! Thats good stuff!
I remember when these originally aired. And, one thing that made Dean lose it like he does (I saw an interview with someone, and according to him) is because Dean almost NEVER showed up for rehearsals. So he usually HAD NO IDEA WHAT Foster Brooks was going to say. In one of these scenes Dean is laughing so hard that tears run down his face and he dries them with a handkerchief.
the rehearsals they did have were cut short so he could leave every day before six so he could make it to dinner with his family
Proof Foster Brooks was one of a kind. It can not, and has not even been attempted to duplicate. No N words, no F words, no sexual references. Only a few comedians today can do that.
Brian Hughes check out Victor Borge
No Brian, MANY comedians can do it but no one wants to watch them so they never make it big enough to play Hollywood or Vegas.
Brian Hughes Amen, one of a kind!
Theres a podcast I download which is titled along the lines of "Retro Radio" that really was comedy.... The best comedy is through story telling. He plays the part of a alcoholic. He has a broad upstairs. Dean asks if he is sterile. That's just the first sketch. No sexual references?
"You better call a doctor."
"But YOU are the doctor."
"Well in that case, you better call a priest!"🤣
Makes Dean laugh that's all you need to know. 😎
foster brook always been one of my favorite i laughed so hard my side hurts you know what mean
Still brings good times back, they are not gone!
38 seconds. Yayyyy me. Lol
I am 53 and cannot look at Foster without looking. I know how Dean feels.
I FAILED miserably!!!! LOL
I started laughing as soon as he started talking. I remember as a kid watching him and my Dad that didn't laugh at very much would laugh the whole time he was acting. He was the best
Oh man, I can't remember the last time I laughed that much!!
Me too Bill. We'll never see good television programs like this ever again.

0:51 Foster Brooks gets his first good look at the arrow prosthetic and almost loses it🤣

favourite one has to be the frontier doctor sketch with dean martin, and he cant control himself
The no. 1 funny guy in the World! ❤🎉😂
A much younger co-worker of mine heard the audio of these clips and asked me if that guy was drunk! Lol!! I actually had to explain to him that Foster Brooks was an old-time comic and that was his act! My co-worker just looked at me! 😄
