    Zero handiness in my home but I’d like to take my jetted tub out and make it a shower and take my shower and turn it into a huge linen/towel cabinet. Your bathroom looks awesome

      Thank you very much for you comments. You can do it to your bathroom too! Just about anything you need to learn is on the innerweb nowadays. I remodeled our bathroom because it had carpet all the way up to the shower! We sold this house and now been working on building our dream house. Currently working on getting new videos of our build up and live.

    Great job...I would have to have a backsplash, since the wife gets water everywhere!

      I appreciate your interest, but that would be quite a commute cross country. I wish you the best on your project and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

    Great work. You saved $15k to $20k doing this work yourself. Good craftsmanship in fitting the curved corners on the base molding. Some wainscoting would have been a bonus. A shout out from Houston, Texas via Little Rock, Arkansas.

      Well thank you very much for the complement! Yes we did end up saving some good $$$, not real sure what it would have all amounted to but it was definitely worth it. Two Great places. Texas and Little Rock Arkansas!

    This was the best video I have seen from start to finish great job!🏡 I'm sending this video to my husband you really motivated me that we can do it on our own! The only thing I was trying to figure out the tub situation it looks like you had to remove the pipes.

    I worked at a big box store during COVID what lockdown ? everyone was in walking around piling up carts of plants and mulch , Lumber carts full of kids oh it was Hell on earth! Nobody could go in an office but they could crowd 30 deep in the fastener aisle :/

    Nice job! I have a similar tub and surround that I’ve been considering removing. But once I do that it welcomes another 10 projects in the bathroom!

      Good News. I started gutting the bathroom down to the studs in October of 2021. As of the first week of January it’s all done and put back together. No more tub. This video gave me the confidence to pull the tub myself. Thanks!

      Yes. Un fortunately the jet tub plumbing in my situation did not work and had to all be removed. For example the drain to the jet tub was at one end and the new soaking tub required a center style setup. Thank you for your comment and watching.

    I wish there were instructions on removing the water pipes how to cap them and all about the electrical that would help

    I also have a jet tub that I want to remove. How would you rate the difficulty? Also was fixing the plumbing hard? I love your new bathroom! Just gorgeous.

    • @lifebehindthebuild9204
      @lifebehindthebuild9204  Před 3 lety

      Its would depend on how much experience you have with remodeling? Someone with good handyman skills I would say difficulty of 4 or 5 if they have all the tools available. If not real handy, could be a 9. The plumbing now days is very easy with PEX. Makes it quick but you sill have to make sure a your drains flow down hill! Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    I’m doing the same thing. In my case, I had to cut the tub into small pieces to get it out of the bathroom. I hated the demo. It was so dusty and smelly.

    • @lifebehindthebuild9204
      @lifebehindthebuild9204  Před 2 lety

      Demo is never fun. Always more work than your mind tells you before you start. At least your doing it and getting it done! Wish you well with your project.

    Hey man! Great great job... I know the answer to my question is 'it depends' based on finishings chosen and such, but can you give a range/swag/estimate of total $$ Cost and how much time you put in? Many thanks!

      Hey there, it was about total 4k with me doing everything. Also that was one year ago prices. So thats pre crazy 2021 inflation. Thank you!
