The hugely respected Ralf Rangnick, former head of sport and development at Red Bull and one of the most influential coaches in the modern game, was the special guest for the first ever Coaches' Voice webinar.
In this excerpt from his exclusive Q&A with Sky Sports football presenter David Jones, Rangnick talks about the overhaul in philosophy and approach he instigated at both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, replacing ageing squads with younger, hungrier players they could develop and sell to bring in the funds to further develop. He then goes on to talk about 'The Three Cs' - the fundamental principles on which he bases his coaching philosophy.

personally i feel that the best option would be to have rangnick be interim until the end of the season with control over footballing decisions, then transition to DoF for next season with ten haag at the managerial position

Found this after the United Derby and feel this is definitely the level of thinking that is needed at Manchester United...Ralf could easily come in as interim manager and I'm sure with his knowledge and networks, can hire the best coaching staff and even find the perfect manager. This is probably wishful thinking on my part and as a United fan I can honestly say that a clear out of the coaching and management staff needs to happen if we ever want to catch up to liverpool and City in the near future.

I agree with you 100%. I am worried the decision makers have there heads up there arses after i heard they were considering Graham potter. Nothing against the guy but United need Rangnick not even on interim basis but for a good 4-5 years. I think he can win trophies but most importantly bring identity on the pitch and sanity in the transfer market

How can he, he's skills are to take a football club to the next level. Our club for a long time has been trying to create a circus run by incompetent clowns, including doing their best to turn world class players to perform like clowns on the field. No elite manager in their right mind will come to our club when there aren't even mildly competent personal at least in footballing roles and club isn't prepared for a wholesale flushing of them down the drain as they fit the DNA owners & their stooges can work with and foster - spineless yes men. Utd is an ATM for the Glazer family to enjoy their real passion NFL, that's where their caring for the club starts and ends.

He is so underated. He is probably the most influential coach in Bundesliga in last few decades. He revolutionised the German press and was one of the first pioneer of gegenpressing. Julian nargalsmann, Marco rose, Ralph hasenhutel, Jesse marsch, adi hutter, seb hoeness etc a lot of coaches has been mentored by him. He was a great influence on klopp who once famous described ragnick as "one of the best ,if not the very best."

Im very proud that German coaches are so popular right now; Rangnick is perhaps the perfect guy to rebuild a monster club like ManU; he is very intelligent and it seems that nothing ever happens by accident; he always has that clear vision; normally he let play football a little bit like Klopp in Liverpool with lot of pressing and counter-Attacking-Style; Rangnick is the perfect fit I think; the best on him is, that he has not only coaching-abilities; he is a guy, that can fully rebuild and implement a whole philosophy to a club; there is only one problematic thing, that Bayern Munich wouldn’t ever give to one man like him and that is sole power and time; Rangnick wants sole power for developing and perhaps he needs some time; I don’t know him by personal but it seems to be that he can be very stubborn so The Glazers should know that u give all the power to one man; otherwise his concept won’t work I think; u have to let him work and shut your mouth 🤣 that is the most important thing; if u do so, Rangnick will rock ManU; I’m pretty sure, that this can be a great relationship over one decade; congratulations to all the ManU-Fans out there; I really hope, Ralf rocks the Premier League; nobody sees it but I think despite his very analytic style he is a guy with an open heart; he can be very empathetic…I saw several very interesting videos on German DAZN the last few weeks; he is absolutely amazing; in this interviews he analysed every German club in the Bundesliga and not only how they play; he analyzed the whole philosophy of each club…at the moment ManU‘s biggest problem are not the players; it’s their philosophy; in the last 5 years noone seems to have the authority, that is needed, to guide a monster like ManU

The Godfather of gegenpress football and one of the most influential figures in Germany's modern football in the last two decades. I have a strong conviction that we finally got the right man to bring back glory to Man United by creating a completely brand-new identity/DNA that seemingly lost post-Fergie. Tbh Ole is a good coach and he is a legend of Man United. He came and created stability, bring back Man United traditions, and good vibes factor, but at the end of the day, it's not good enough because he seems to lack of technical edge and brain intelligence that the head coach/manager needed in this modern football. Being only good motivational coach is not so old school and not relevant anymore in this modern football. Ralf Rangnick's track record speaks itself, from managing mediocre teams like Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, making them into proper threats and respected teams in Germany even in Europe. What took it so long for MU boards to finally bring this man to Man United? Enough is enough. Time to finally kickstart a new era for Man United and I'm ready to enjoy the ride. This is it. Excited and anxious at the same time because eventhough all of what he said are make sense but he hasn't been a manager for 9 years and he never won major trophies. Those two are the major doubts that I have personally when Man United decided appointing Ralf R. We know this journey isn't going to be rainbows n sunshine everyday, there will be bumpy roads, bad results, and doubts during this seemingly endless journey to find the perfect DNA for Man United but hopefully, this man can really deliver and implement his idea of football which is an exciting, aggressive, pressing, attacking, rock n roll type of football into reality *finger crossed* GGMU!
