    I really enjoyed your review and comparison, very informative. Plus, fact you actually played in them.

    Here is an update on both versions. After finally being able to return my defective Classic pair to Mizuno and receiving a new pair from Soccer.com I was keen to get additional sessions in. I took the replacement Classic and the Beta's out to a pickup game (this time with my Armaskin socks!). I started with the Classic's with normal socks and they felt great, just like the 2's. No blisters, very comfortable. Then I swapped to the Beta's, along with the Armaskin socks as the previous session gave me bad blisters. Almost immediately I could tell that if I wasn't wearing the anti-blister socks I would be starting to get blisters. I played in them for about 3 minutes. I'm going to coach in them for 3 hours tonight and do a full 90 minute play session Thursday to see if they break in a bit. I'm hoping they do, but I'm not optimistic that the material in the heel will be able to form around the area that is giving me blisters. We shall see.

      You need to train frist with new boots, so the feet can adjust to the shoe and after that you can play a full game

      At first time use I got the terrible blister. But at the next game I try to use a taping on my heel. And it's fine. So for everyone that got blister, you can try to use Foam tape + Rigid tape on your heel. Hopefully it will help. Enjoy the game!

    Interesting observations. The raise in toe box height from neo 2 to neo 3 is definitely warranted as the neo 2 I have used, really took some breaking in with the rather low toe box height but not as low as your defect neo 3 and son's neo 2. I will get the neo 3 soon as to me, nothing beats a traditional tongue especially for high arch or chunky foot.

    I will be posting a long-term use update for the Neo 3 Classic in a few days, comparing them to the Neo 2's. I was never able to break in the Neo 3 Beta's enough for them to stop giving me heel blisters, so I gave them away. Too bad as I liked the feel of the sock design.

    The reason why you got blister on Beta is that the Beta is half size bigger than normal Neo 3, that’s why you felt more comfortable on Beta and you have more room to get blister if that make sense

  • @hiddenleaf414

    Good to hear you can get the Beta 3 on as easy. I have high arches and getting the knitted one piece cleats that Nike and Adidas have are impossible.

    Thanks for pointing out differences Dave. Sorry you got the pair with bad QC. My beta 3 is on the way. Would you comment on sizing? Some reviewers say version 3 is slightly 1/2 size bigger than version 2.

    • @davekeller9684
      @davekeller9684  Před 4 lety +2

      Floyd, I just uploaded a quick size comparison between the Neo 2, 3 and 3 Beta. They all seem the same to me. The length and width are the same, however maybe a TINY bit more room in the toe box. How they fit would all depend on how close you like your toe to the tip of the shoe. Mine are VERY close to the tip, and the 3 and 3 Beta are exactly the same as the 2. If your toe is further from the tip of the shoe and were relying on a tight toe box area for a snug fit, it may seem loose to you.

    • @feiwong70
      @feiwong70 Před 4 lety

      Dave Keller Thanks a lot Dave! I had tried Neo 2 before and my toes are about 1/4” from the tip but slightly tight on width so hopefully that tiny room in the toe box on Beta 3 helps a bit.

    I just got the Morelia Neo 3's Beta's which are 1/2 a size smaller than I would normally get. The fit in the toe box and midfoot is great, but like you said in your video, they cause me some issues in the heel region with blisters. Just sitting down they are insanely comfortable. But walking around, I can feel the discomfort in the heel region - I would probably get a blister pretty quickly. Not sure if I should go back into the shop and get a 1/2 size up to my normal size, but then there would be too much room in the toe box I feel but would be more comfortable on the heel. I might just get a complete refund on them even before I wear them on the pitch once and try order a pair of Neo 2's online.

    • @davekeller9684
      @davekeller9684  Před 4 lety +1

      Notor, I just uploaded a short video taking a look at the heel issue. I think the difference between the Neo 2/3 (no blisters) and the 3 Beta (blisters!!!!!) is the material used in the heel section. In the 2 and 3 they used a synthetic leather that is flexible, and in the 3 Beta they used a MUCH stiffer material that I believe is causing my blisters.

      @@davekeller9684 Haven't ever wore the 2's but that definitely seems like it could be the issue. I might just refund and order a pair of 2's in my TTS online. Probably cheaper and more comfortable too.

    Wanted to ask abou Morelia neo 3 classic and Morelia Beta. My first question 1. Is the leather quality and feel same in both models. 2. Lockdown of the shoes is it the same? Which is better in terms of holding foot especially heel tight?

  • @brandonlee4957
    @brandonlee4957 Před 3 lety +1

    Hey man did you get the classic Neo and the beta the same size? I’ve heard for the beta you need to get half size down so that could be the reason for the blisters (not your correct size). I think for the classic neo it’s fine if you go true to size

    • @davekeller9684
      @davekeller9684  Před 3 lety +1

      Only the front half of them are leather, which works great. The leather is top quality and I have had zero issues other than when the sole plate eventually cuts into it at the flex point (not an issue with the Neo III so far). It does stretch a.tiny bit, but nothing like older leather cleats.

      So here is my experience with Mizuno USA support. I call their Order Support number, bounce around a phone menu, eventually getting a person who was very nice. They said I needed to take pictures of the defect and email them for inspection before they would authorize a return. Sounded fine, so I attached the pics, and shortly after I received an email with instructions on how to download the shipping label. The problem was when I looked at my order online, there was no Returns section as described, so I was going to call back and see if they could email me a label directly. I was busy, so a couple days later I was about to call when I received a follow-up email telling me that because I had worn the shoes they were going to return them to me with no refund or replacement. I then called Order Support again, and was told that their return policy is 30 days, and so they would not take the return. I pointed out it was only 18 days, and was then told "Sorry, that is our policy, we cannot take your shoes back." I ranted for about 5 minutes telling them how Nike would replace my cleats even if they were two years old if defective, but it didn't make any difference. I finally asked to talk to someone higher up, and was told I needed to call Corporate. I called Corporate, and selected Soccer shoes, and got a message that they were not available and I should leave a message. I called back and selected baseball and finally got a person, who looked up my order and immediately offered to send me a shipping label and a refund. He said I had previously been talking to their Order department, and I was now actually talking to Mizuno. I assume that means their Order department is outsourced and can only operate within their well-defined parameters. I then proceeded to buy the same shoes from Soccer.com with a 30 day return policy (worn or not) and free return shipping label included in the package. Lesson learned, NEVER buy directly from Mizuno.
