    As a Turkish fellow, i studied English online mostly. It helped a lot to improve my pronunciation skills. I change my entertainment habits on the net as well. So when I open CZcams, i mostly watch the native speakers even just for fun. When I was in middle school and high school, teachers were mostly focusing on grammar rules. They don't have a good accent. Some of them speak in American accent, some of them broken English or just flat Turkish accent. They didn't teach the differences of sound and letter. Our alphabet system is so easy. Letter=sound mostly. So it's hard to keep in mind so many combinations of sounds in most of the languages. I struggle when learning Russian. Even it has a little of them😅English has a lot

    As a Spanish native speaker, I'd say I never imagined there were so many vowels in English. I tried to speak it with my five humble vowels hahahah.

    I'm from Japan and I think Japanese speakers find English pronunciation (and grammar too) super hard 😵 New sound like V F & TH, several "a"s (too hard to distinguish for us, 5 vowels a-i-u-e-o people), different and independent R & L (In Japanese, they are put in the same category as Japanese R), and more & more 😵

      Yes, English pronunciation is very different to Japanese pronunciation. Thanks for your comment!

    Hello Mr. I speak the Amharic language from Ethiopia (semitic language family) I would appreciate your comment on whether the sounds in Amharic and English are similar or not. in my view they are very close, so it is easier to learn the pronunciation of English. thank you!

    • @LeanEnglishPronunciation
      @LeanEnglishPronunciation  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, they are quite similar but Amharic lacks some English vowels sounds.

    • @mesaybifa3977
      @mesaybifa3977 Před 2 měsíci

      @@LeanEnglishPronunciation Thank for the reply, Amharic has only 7 vowel sounds rather than 20, but English has 24 consonant sounds as opposed to 32 in Amharic.. I think the reason for the similarity is how the sounds are made in both languages whether a vowel or a consonant. when you add up all the sounds they have equal number of sounds. can you please tell me why they similar, if you have a different opinion than me?
