When those people died in the channel the smugglers were charged with facilitating ILLEGAL entry to the UK my question is what are the so called border force doing if not facilitating ILLEGAL entry ?

Why should we be worried about the condition of the boats these illegal immigrants should not be escorted to this country by the RNLI they should turn the boats around and escort them back to France which is a SAFE country.
Worried that people are going to die and need rescue. Turning them around in these boats is inhumane. Shoddiness like this means a lot more costly clean-up and humanitarian efforts if the boat sinks. Hardline policies are good, but never become the villain.

That's not even their job anymore. They just move them to process centres and hotels.
They're too nice. Absolutely lovely people with not a 'behave yourself' bone in their bodies and therein also lies a problem. If you know you're going to be treated really nicely that's also a big draw. I'm not advocating unkindness, but aloofness and neutrality can work wonders.

Why would the immigrants be afraid of the police, what would the police do to them? Probably nothing worse than handing out packets of sandwiches and advising them where to go for their red carpet reception and 4-star hotel accomodation! What happens when the 'young' men obtaining asylum here start up government aided court cases to bring their families over to the UK under their human rights to a family life who is going to foot that bill?
As far as I'm aware they won't need courts, the will have automatic entitlement to bring all members of their direct family over. That's the law.
My guess is that the majority of these nice young chaps don't have family to bring over , or at least not wives . The indigenous girls are a draw , along with the ridiculous material benefits that they feel entitled to claim.

By not sending them immediately back it's just being encouraged. Police and army on beaches on France could easily prevent launch.
The problem is Ireland is now threatening to send back anyone who came via the UK back to us. It's just a giant mess.

They are obviously safe because of the amount of boats reching Dover.
The boats don't need to be sea-worthy though do they, they only need to be good enough to get into the channel because they know that the RNLI and Bprder Force will take over from there.
Clearly they are fit for purpose, the numbers of migrants reaching the UK is testament to that.
Why can’t the authorities stop these vessels being deployed? They have to be supplied from somewhere in Europe, more likely near the French coast. Who is building these thing?
They will have been told by criminals” it’s ok you’ll be picked up really quickly by rnli or other English or French boats” . IMO the people that add fuel to this awful trade including the human rights lawyers and others that defend the right for people to illegally try and enter the uk in this way are equally responsible for anyone that loses their life in doing so.

Well, to be fair, those "unsuitable" boats only have to do about 5 miles, then Border Force and the RNLI are waiting to collect them. It's not like they have to sail the whole 22 miles across The Channel, is it?
