      I haven't studied them for years but remember learning that they're particularly dangerous for youngsters, during pregnancy and for the elderly and immunosuppressed.
      There was a valve leak into the water supply allowing animal effluent into it and I think it's been in the water for a fortnight now, according to another channel broadcast.

    I called the water company a while ago and asked for them to supply me with water I wanted. Drinkable. With the heavy metal, fake flouride, microplastics and all pharmaceuticals that are in it, removed. Just simple, clean, drinkable water. They couldn't provide it. They did invite me to enter my postcode onto their website and look at the complete list of 'ingredients' that I would find in my tap water. UNBELIEVABLE! I then suggested, going forward, they discount my bills with the cost of me installing a water filter system and it's servicing costs. Funnily enough they couldn't do this. Having a soak in the bath nowadays just means you're giving all the poisons time to absorb!

    Most of the water infrastructure was built a long long time ago. It has not been properly looked after. It has just been neglected. But Don’t tell me Southwest water do not have the funds to provide clean water to its clients.

      @@aikiwolfie and this particular outbreak has nothing whatsoever to do with waste dumping anyway. It is a faulty valve causing animal waste to pollute a reservoir.
      The EU standards that are relevant here are the ones around regular testing of potable water. That has been going on as usual and is why this outbreak was detected much quicker than the one in 1995.

      Cryptosporidium monitoring is done continuously by water companies since 1999 following the outbreak in 1995. There are lots of resources online detailing work undertaken by South West Water and their test results. There's no reason to believe they are shirking their duties.
      Water treatment is a complex environmental science. There are many variables and many factors. We have surprisingly few outbreaks of water borne illnesses considering our population, its density and the stress on our water resources. New Zealand has suffered several in recent years, presumably this is also because of Brexit?
      Germany recorded an unusually high number of confirmed cases of Cryptosporidiosis in 2023, presumably you think this is because they too are failing to enforce regulations?
      Or perhaps it is simply because the past few years have had unusually high risk factors, they have had warm summers and drought followed by flooding and a long wet winter. These factors have allowed the Cryptosporidium oocytes to be spread around and infect more places and this has led to raw water stocks becoming infected.
