"as strong as i wanna be" sums up akane perfectly. she always kept fighting with monokuma and that ended up in the loss of her loved one, (nekomaru). she always had the ideal of "i want to become stronger". could've fit chihiro as well, but it's a nice touch for akane as well.
What I find kinda poetic is that, the lyrics really do describe the characters. And no, not the obvious ones like the main cast, but rather, I'm talking specifically about Junko and Tsumugi. They're literally two people in this entire series that 'wanted to be everything at once'

YES EVERYONE TALKS ABT KAE AND SHU BUT AKANE AND MARU ARE SO okay major akane fan here. Fun fact akane has a fear of being weak, and looks up to Nekomaru because she believes he can do literally anything. (Why I don’t ship akanidai, he feels like a dad to akane) She grew up in poverty and dangerous areas where she had to basically fight for her siblings to give them food and stuff because her parents didn’t work. She’s always striving to be a strong person and that crying makes you weak. honestly everyone says “akane didn’t get development she should’ve died” but her fear of weak and her starting to cry and open up more after chapter *was* her development, it just wasn’t as obvious as fuyuhikos because nobody gives a shit about akanes ftes. She cried during nekomarus death and even opened up and started being less aggressive after Chiaki slapped her and stuff. Akane Owari is my queen and is heavily underrated, peace ✌️
I might be reading too much into this, but the Kaede and Shuichi part is pretty deep. “Pure as a melody” shows Kaede’s innate optimism and trust, while “pure as I wanna be” shows how Shuichi is more morally gray and defines himself more.
"Pure as I wanna be" it also represents how he wants to be as bright as her. How he wants to keep his promise and bring hope to his classmates. To get them out of that horrifying place,,,
Is no one going to talk about how Chiaki’s Name means light? And she was showed when the song said “Light” I love how she was there since it made sense

@@PresidentGrape it’s because tsumugi killed Rantaro and kaede was innocent meaning she was “pure” and because and because shuichi proved that Kaede was the “killer” she got executed even if she didn’t kill him. Since Shuichi proved that she was the “killer” he’s not “pure”.
I remember watching this, and every time I finished a game I’d go that far into the video, and being so excited to see it all when I finished the third game. This is somewhat nostalgic for me now, great video, even if this is 3 years late
This is probably my favorite edit ever. Not just because of the talent, but because everything about it just _fits._ the song is beautiful and it matches perfectly with danganronpa. I honestly love this so much. I can’t stop watching it.

Everyone is talking about what lyric each character got and all that, but I think there should be more comments just talking about how brilliant and beautiful this video is! The timing, the quality, it’s all so wonderfully done. I clicked on the video initially because it was an old song I used to listen to, and I ended up watching it so many times.
