It's still up to debate for if a corporation is it's own being. But basically, the actions of the corporation may not be in the same line as the founder or CEO. But the CEO still has to leave a good impression and all, lest they ruin the reputation of the company (i.e. Papa Johns controversy for example). I do believe the Trade Federation did the same thing at the end of the Clone Wars, but Im not sure if they claimed that Nute Gunray (went rogue) or if they were simply forced into stating this after the Empire nationalized them.

    I think the spindly design is actually an advantage.
    The B1 were too frail to withstand anything anyway, so while technically those spingly droids might be more frail than the B1, in practice it really doesn't matter.
    But their thin design gives them a small front-profile, which makes them harder to hit than the B1 with it's comparetively broad chest and broader head.
    They also look like they take up less space than the B1 if both are folded to their smallest state, so you could fit a larger number of them in the same space.
    And with the flying ability, they appear to be more versatile, at least on the outside.
    The downside would be that their hands look like they are very limited, so the B1 probably have the advantage in being able to pick up dropped enemy weapons and that they can use different kinds of weapons without a refit. B1s probably also make better operators of vehicles and gun emplacements.
    I have a hard time seeing those thin ones driving those hover tanks from episode 1 for exmaple.

    • @matthiuskoenig3378
      @matthiuskoenig3378 Před 4 lety +8

      it depends on thos, in episode 1 a number of B1s are hit and barely notice. so B1s are good vs lower end blasters. but vs clones who use high end blasters it won't matter.
      however you also have to think about costs, specifically maintaince costs. more moveing parts/joints = more expensive to make and maintain. and more fragile = more damage from terrain.
      the B1 could also be made better armoured (both the B2 and BX droids are supposed to have the same chasis as a B1 but more armour)
      the main advantages for the B1 hands are not picking up enemy weapons, but picking up special weaons and being able to use other equipment. in the lore (comics, books, etc) 1 in every 10 B1s carry a heavier blaster that also shoots with a higher ROF (ie an LMG equivilent), if that droid 'dies' another can pick up its blaster. the comics also had droids with missile launchers, grenade launchers, sniper rifles and mortars (these also appeared in a few games) and the TV series showed the crewing HMG style weapons and artillery (and i am sure the CIS must have AT weapons similar to the rebels on hoth, which might be operated by B1s). so if the crews loose a droid you can have another take its place.
      droids have also been shown to use other equipment, so you get alot of versatility. the most useful would be shovels (to dig defensive trenches and pits) and to carry supplies.
      other general B1 advantages,
      easier to fold compactly (can carry more in the same transport area)
      no weight restrictions for upgrades (D wings need to still be able to fly, while B1s can still be agile with alot more armour as shown by BX droids which are simply modified B1s [essentially])
      stronger limbs = abile to carry heavier objects (heavier weapons, aswell as supplies and ammo)
      B1s are supposed to have motion detectors on the sides and back of their heads, so should be harder to sneak up on.
      B1s are likely cheaper due to not haveing the complex ability to fly.
      B1s don't have jet fuel onboard, meaning they are dignficantly less likley to blow up (only applies to mid-lower class enemy weapons, so not clones) which also makes them ssafer to use along side organics.
      the ability to faly is a useful tactical advantage, but B1s are over all superior as a basic infantry unit.

      @@matthiuskoenig3378 Nice info. Looks like they both have their places in a combined army.
      Them being issued with different hand-held weapons was what I had in mind when I said they could be given different weapons without a refit, which the D wings would need since their weapons are integrated.

      True but honestly i prefer tougher droids like the B2 Super Battle Droids although slow and lumbering they are very imposing for your average enemy combatant. Even Geetsly said in older video that clone troopers had unload entire clips of blaster rifle fire before even one would be taken down.And Republic commando really show how ruthless B2s can be just by punching/slapping you to death when face to face with you. Also knowing they had jump and jet pack variants must made for even more difficult situations for the GAR. And I am sure they felt pretty badass flying around to I know i would if were a B2 with a jet pack. Because they aren't flimsy like the those d wing droids.

In fact, the "various" scenes of idle Jedi/Clones you mention I can only pinpoint 2 which one of them is one in the most recent episode. So basically the organic decimator is a tiny, flying defoliator tank with lower collateral damage. I'm guessing the octuptarra tri droid uses the same tech as the organic decimator but focused into a single beam.

  • @hotshotx1598
    @hotshotx1598 Před 4 lety +1

    Btw, the models in the Mygeto scene from Episode 6 had rockets AND blasters. A closer look will show that the barrel protruding below the optical sensors from both of the droids fires large red blaster bolts. Then when the scene zooms in as one launces a rocket, you can see the missile leave a space just to the side of the blaster barrel, not directly out of it. Therefore the CIS likely started arming their tri-droids with anti-tank missiles as the war dragged on and the GAR started developing more advanced armor units, like the ones the tri-droids are facing off against in that very scene.

    I guess you could explain the techno union droids only being deployed on Skako Minor by the atmosphere.
    When they approach the planet, you can see that the planet looks almost like a gas giant: It is covered in a thick yellowgreen atmosphere. Of course, Anakin should not be able to breath this gas, but hey, its a kids show, it would be kind of boring if anakin spent the whole episode in a pressure suit.
    Now, there are two gases I know of that look yellowgreen: Chlorine Gas (yes, THAT gas), and Chlorine Dioxide. Could be either, but Chlorine boils at -34, whereas ClO2 boils at 11. Assuming that Skako Minor is pretty hot (because, you know, all that atmosphere keeping heat in (although we don't know the distance to the star)), it makes sense that we can see this gas pretty clearly, as it's pretty near the precipitation point.
    So finally, to answer the initial question, if we assume it is ClO2, it makes sense that the techno union uses flying droids her but not anywhere else (that we see). ClO2 has a molar mass of around 67, whereas Oxygen and Nitrogen are around 15. Therefore, things on Skako Minor would be around 4 TIMES as buoyant as on Earth, not taking into account that the planet could also have lower gravity.
    Therefore, flying a massive Octuptarra there would not be as fuel intensive, and the droids would not need massive wings to fly.
    Why did I write this?

Throw them and then also shoot at the people you threw it at, while they are freaking out. Or throw like ten or so into a vent and let them spread through an enemy base. A little ai adjustments to make them more stealhy and there you go.

    The organic dezimator may not be effective in large scaled battles, but it would make for a great security/assassin droid. If you have a security breach on a ship for example a small swarm of OEs could locate and kill the infiltrator rather quickly (if they don´t have plotarmor like Anakin) or due to it´s small size it could easily be sneaked into an enemie base inside of ammo crates, food supplys, etc. where it then can take down the unsuspecting guards one by one.

    • @trianglemoebius
      @trianglemoebius Před rokem +1

      Hover tanks use loads of energy, and that in turn limits the shields, weapons, etc. you can put on them. Unless you make them really big so they can have a large generator, of course, but then what's the point?
      It's like in real life, where technology is in a constant battle with weight and engine power. Obviously having something go really fast is nice, but you're not going to have something that goes really fast ALSO have the hitting power of a piece of heavy armour like the Type 99.
      In real life, we've decided to just make all tanks fall into what'd have once been classified as "medium tanks" (specializing in no area, but decent in all). In Star Wars, they still use a lot of specialized equipment.
