Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Takeshi Hongo [本郷猛] from Kamen Rider [仮面ライダー]!
Bandai may have given up on Super Sentai and Metal Hero SHFiguarts, but Kamen Rider still lives on. Sure, there may be some holes (Kiva, some bikes, etc.) but I suppose that it's time to move on. Naturally the next move would be to move on to out-of-suit characters, so where better to start than Takeshi Hongo?
SHFiguarts Takeshi Hongo comes with a Henshin FX screen and several extra hands.
I have to be totally honest...I never really anticipated picking this figure up. I don't know...did I really want to get myself into collecting yet another line of Rider Figuarts. I was ordering a bunch of things on a website and noticed that this was available and on sale. So I got it. Now, I never thought the figure looked bad or anything...I just didn't want to get too out-of-hand with the Figuart collecting. So how is this figure? Great. I mean, I didn't have a doubt. SHF Michael Jackson was fantastic--and this figure is incredibly similar to that. The FX screen is also a great touch.
Are there any problems? Nah. Maybe another head would have been nice...but considering I got this at a decent discount, I can't really complain with everything I got. The likeness to Hiroshi Fujioka is great...so what else can you ask for?
Should you get this one? Yeah. Go for it. I mean, if they ever get into more characters it might be harder buy...but Takeshi Hongo is the man. Now if we can only skip to Kotaro Minami... Or hell, why not even give us a SHFiguarts Segata Sanshiro. We're almost there!
Oh yeah, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed something might have been up with Kamen Rider in the video... Hmmm... I may have to address both that and New Cyclone in future videos...

Indeed, it's a pity though that Ishinomori didn't add a Judo Throw to Kamen Rider's arsenal that when executed would make a Shocker monster explode upon impacting with the ground....But then if he did, then what would be the trademark move of Segata. Well played Sega. :D
