- Yaya Touré is undoubtedly one the most important players in Manchester City's history. A key figure in their meteoric rise to the top of European football in recent years.
Despite this, while his former teammates and fellow City legends are rightly being honored with statues, it seems Yaya is being left out.
But why is that? Does Yaya Touré deserve a statue? How Good was he really?

Let me save you the headache on the statue issue.
Yaya toure is a Muslim and it’s haram (big sin)to have a statue of a person let alone of himself
It's totally fine even you are human.. BTW love from India❤
People really do forget about how technical he was on the ball just because of his physical assets
used to be called "big messi" for some time
@@imransuhail82 😂
I mean, he came from Barcelona before joining Man City... Of course he is technical
nanh maybe if they didn't watch him
That is the reality of being big and dark skinned. Look at Vieira. If you are big and dark skinned people will have a tough time recognising your quality. Pogba is pretty much the exception and that's probably because of how far out of his way he goes to be flamboyant.
In my opinion toure was one of the best midfielders in the world… a proper box-to-box man with physicality and decent pace, almost like viera
Very much like Vieira, perhaps not as strong defensively but with more attacking presence and more goals.
His pace was unreal once he got going and Pogba has never scored 23 goals in a season or won the prem
@@GuinessOriginal man mountain aswell when a man that big runs that fast you see most people under fear, expect the kantes of the world.
He was a fantastic midfielder but a bit of a weirdo in the head.
Best two way player ever
He was a better player than Pogba overall for instance. If he was french or english the hype around him would have been surreal.
Relax, Yaya is underrated but PP6 is better
You are so right
@@lahawla7233 Yes he play 2 good match per year.

And Hart also, but obviously less than those 4
@@battistoberhoel8839 I can't thank Joe Hart enough for his marvellous performances

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Yaya, D.Silva and Aguero are the city legends of the era, sadly not all could get statues of course.
Nasri the great
Yaya’s technical ability was absolutely sensational. I’m a Man Utd fan but I always enjoyed Yaya playing. Made Africa very proud. Top top player.
One of the greatest midfielders of all time, inspired an entire generation of players, Africans and Afro- diaspora especially. One of my favorite players of all time, if you ever see a kid wearing 42 you know why
I think George Weah inspired a whole generation of African stars. But Toure played a huge role too.
Truly me bro.....he is my favourite player too 🔥

He doesn't need a statue to prove he's a legend of Africa and Manchester city
Absolutely. It's a bit immature to deny him a statue though over the agents shenanigans. Football is all about results 1st & foremost. He played his part in turning a cash splurge into a solid, credible team the club could build on.
@@vdotme it’s because he’s Muslim
Him and Joe hart are underratted city legends
Dude was so good that you could put him anywhere on the field he has the chance to produce. Dude literally could play any position. His role best fit a box to box role. He was a true CM who had offense and defense prowess. I feel he don't get talked about enough when talking about legends whether in the Prem, from Africa, or legendary mids.
As a City fan I have nothing but love for Yaya, I wish his departure didn’t happen the way it did. Love how pep has helped our club but I wish he gave more respect to Toure. For me he’s a premier league and definitely a City legend. I wish him all the best in his life now that he’s retired, great video 💙
Hart, Aguero, Kompany, Yaya Toure and David Silva are all Man City legends. They were the backbone of the team before Pep.
He was a classic square peg in a round hole at Barca. All action box to box midfielder in a very tranquil two touch system. City got a gem with him. He was allowed to explode and do everything in the middle of the park there.
Ya Ya will always be loved by city fans, two moments that will always live in my memory among many, many other fantastic moments were the goal against the swampdwellers at Wembley in the FA cup semi final..... Magic moment that lives in my memory just below the Aguerooo moment and the goals in the away game at Newcastle that virtually guaranteed the Premier league title....... The brilliant runs with the ball while opponents struggled to stop him, the amazing shots from outside the area, the man was pure quality and the "cake" quote from his agent will never change our love for him and kolo......
Yaya Toure was one of the best players in the world
No argument here man!
@DaBabySmokesWeedAndJimmySavilleSmokesBudWithMyNan thats why I said one of the best
@DaBabySmokesWeedAndJimmySavilleSmokesBudWithMyNan he was one of the best players in 2011-2015
If Wengers almost signed XI were a team they would win 3 world cups, Euros and the CL for 10yrs straight.
Bold of you to assume Wenger would win a CL
They would win the Euros and the Copa America back to back. Haters will say that's impossible🙄

@@vulxh No, you don't see Australia competing in the OFC anymore
Over a 3 season period (let's call it a prime period) Yaya is one of the best players of all time.
He had the physicality and awareness to be a world class CDM, the game intelligence and vision to be a world class playmaker, the lungs, speed and power to be a world class Box to Box midfielder, and the technique and quality of a world class number 10... All at the same time rolled into one package.
He was probably the best CDM, B2B midfielders and stacking midfielder in the world all at the same time at one stage.
His peak seasons are probably the highest level of any midfielder in prem history.
As Clichy said, Yaya was put where he needed to be and got the job done. He literally dragged city through games, smashing in wonder goals, sprinting, barging and dribbling through opponents teams to score crucial goals at crucial times.
He was like Roy Keane, Vieira & Gerrard wrapped into one package with higher level technique to spare. Onnthe pitch he had the mentality, the courage, the skill and the decisiveness.
If I could pick a team of 11 to play one season for me in the Prem (or any league) I would suggest Yaya is above greats like Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes etc.
@DaBabySmokesWeedAndJimmySavilleSmokesBudWithMyNan He was, he had the dynamism and attacking influence like prime Gerrard. Different to Scholes, but I would say Man City would have missed Yaya more than Man. Utd missed Scholes.
Yaya literally dragged them through games. He would go back, win possesion, carry the ball upfield, dribble, bustle and lay a pass in the final third, win a foul or get a shot away.
He was way more dominant on the field than Scholes or Gerrard.
I completely agree with you. If he wasn't African, there wouldn't be any debate about his prowess.
If you remember 13-14 pl season, toure was lit.
Definitely a man city legend
He was a freak of nature -- size, speed, skills
Underrated at Barcelona he play as many games as a CDM as busquets in 2009
Even though Toure was 100 times better
@@valentinnanchev5596 Yaya is really great, but I don't think Yaya is better than Busquets, Busi literally have everything that needed for a midfielder except sprint and acceleration.
(He is not a box to box player so that doesn't really matters)
Okay. You select Business and I’ll take Yaya. YAYA would DESTROY him. If Sergio Bus played for a mid table LaLiga team, you wouldn’t even know his name. Pep promoted Busquets and used Yaya behind him as cover…..hmmmmm You’re misled if you can’t see his ability. YAYA could start for any country. Sergio could never walk into Aston Villa or Chelsea and run things. He would get EXPOSED like Plato at AC MILAN.
Touré is the most underrated and under appreciated players of all time. I’m guessing most of this comment section is soccer fans who do appreciate his talent and legacy, so cheers to you all. But this man deserves more public recognition.
At least you got some recognition a training ground name after you isn't bad. But he deserves a statue just like all these legends of city.
No
@@Maximustard Yes?
@DaBabySmokesWeedAndJimmySavilleSmokesBudWithMyNan yes.
Here in Africa, Ya ya is one of our greatest players to play the game.... and we don't really don't care what you think about him... we love you and always honour him.. as long as we as Africans respect this man... the world will watch us praise him
Yes a one of the world's finest midfielders at his time. City fans do love him very much 💙
Great video, T. I'm a City fan so I already knew why Yaya will not be getting a statue. I was lucky enough to watch prime Yaya in the 2014 Capital One Cup Final at Wembley. He scored a wonderful 'no look' 25 yard curler. You must watch it if you haven't seen it already.
Yet peaple compare him to Xavi silva or iniesta like bruh, being short isn’t a skill,y’all need to stop capping

So much better than Raymar 'I like to disrespect legends' football.
"Is Joe Hart a Manchester City legend ?" would have been a more interesting question in my opinion.
Agree.
Definitely
Great video as most people would think he was absolutely useless. There needs to be more respect for his many golden gloves
he's a legend with a small l. Whereas Aguero, Silva or Kompany are legends with a capital L. Just my take. Nothing against Hart btw, he just didn't have the longevity
If Pep didn't come I feel that his decline wouldn't have been so fast/ dramatic. Going into that 2016 Euro everyone knew that he was a top 10 keeper who just stopped Balls like a athletic brickwall.
Such a classy player. Calm, strong, quick, technical and he read the game like a book. A legend in all regards.
What we wish Pogba was.. Yaya Toure was the best midfielder in the EPL while at his best in City
I am a Real Madrid fan when but he was one of those players I was so mesmerized when I saw him on the pitch. Seriously statue worthy what he was able to do wherever he went was incredible
Yes he is a Manchester city legend. Love you yaya 💙
He is defo a legend, his most underrated attributes that's not talked about enough is his range of passing it was outstanding to say the least.
Vieira and Toure and Henery would have been literally invincible.
There's an alternate universe where this team actually existed

Yay was really the best midfield on the pitch for almost all his matches.
Not better than Xavi or scholes when he played with or against them.

Excellent video on one of my role models as a player! My other idol is Roberto Carlos, I think he is a very misunderstood player. Some think he was just about attacking and long range goals, but he was actually an allrounder as defensively capable as in the attack
What a player! Always a joy to watch!
I honestly don't understand how you keep putting out such banging content week on week, keep it up brotha
He is definitely a legend, one of their most important players in their whole history
16:37 If Pep Guardiola was a so called racist then I wonder why there wasn't friction among players like Dani Alves, Seydou Keita and Eric Abidal. And not to mention these players were playing regularly for Barca when Pep Guardiola was in charge.
Pep gave a 35 year old toure a new contract at city after 1 season.
@@mcfcfan1870 u put his age up to make a point but the season prior he was your best player
@@emilitious7886 He played brilliantly for us in peps first season too. He played 25 times and had 9 goal involvements. Just its very hard to fit into a midfield which already had De Bruyne, Fernandinho and David Silva.
Of course you left out etoo ,
For Guardiola or most of Europe African can play only as substitutes or on defence
They got legends like toure as center back, etoo as left back in champions league

I seriously don't know how you only have 50k subs bro... You're videos are top notch has very good production quality.... Keep it up.... You'll get too 100k soon enough bro...
Yaya is one if the best midfielders ever. The guy had all of the qualities you would need in the middle of the park. It's a though he saw Vieira, and said I'll do that with more goals contributed. Truly a world class player. He thoroughly deserved a statue at man city.
This video reminded me of the existence of Rafa Marquez. I remember Yaya Toure himself saying something along the lines of Marquez being 10 times better than Pique… I think that calls for another ‘how good was’ video.
In a video of Yaya including the best 11 he has played with, He included Rafa Marquez and said that he was 10 times better than Pique
@@anupamtripathi8531 very few barca fans would disagree in that Pique isnt actually a good defender.
As a Utd fan, he was a phenomenal player and considering the fact City were going to call a stand in Eastlands the Bell End after Colin Bell, he probably should get a statue.
Great player! Toure played a lot and like a Brazilian i can say that here in my country a lot of people likes him!
He is someone who made me understand football ❤️

City legend without a doubt. Not only what he did on the pitch but that transfer was a huge marker that City really meant business and were a force of the future.
Yaya was amazing and you noticed on pitch. Always. And in positive way.
I have noticed that Pep has a dislike for certain types of players, I'm just saying.
One of the best midfielders ever. He can litterly everyting. Defence, attack, the power he had was so good. He deserve so much more respect and onor.
What he gives u as a fan when he has the ball is confidence. U know he can do things with it.
Chelsea Fan and Yaya Toure probably one of my favorites
Definitely the best box-to-box mid I have seen after Keane and Vieira left the PL/retired. Deceptively skilled for his size, a very good reader of the game and a constant offensive threat.
The bum side note was very funny... 😄
Great video as always!! Unlucky for Yaya to be in the same club with Pep twice. Pep has his vision and obviously he has a high ego. So it makes sense that he would stick to the same method. He would never change. Pep is probably not racist, but it must’ve been super frustrating for Yaya.
I was never particularly fast. I thought I wouldn't be able to play very good. When I saw Yaya play, I liked it so much that I modeled him and my team won a local league.
