good night, I'm from Brazil, I have a SHR 5500 CROWR, it's showing failure (RELESASE TRAVEL CONTROL) AND THE MACHINE I DON'T HAVE THE MAINTENANCE AND ELECTRICAL MANUAL, CAN YOU HELP ME, I WAIT HUG.
Will do! I recently replaced one because the drive motor would only drive super slow. The speed sensor was messed up. Another common problem is when it throws a code for the speed sensor, if you unplug the connector and turn the truck back on, and the code disappears, then it’s a bad motor.
You shouldn’t be saying the passwords out loud like this because then operators will be able to get into system and start turning off their travel alarms, spot lights, work lights and even worse… adjust the speeds and that can be a Big no no and someone could get hurt.
@@theforkliftguy there’s other ways of getting the passwords too from what I’ve heard from other operators. Where I do catch someone changing stuff in the systems forklift, I end up going out there with my laptop and changing the password entirely. Good work though keep doing what you’re doing!
That's actually on the employer unless they can prove otherwise. Codes can be changed. It's taking things for granted when company's get to big to care about other stuff. I know how to navigate the menus well enough between p1 and p3 but also know the speed can vary if you know the codes 1 time out of 1000 Is this maybe ever going to be an issue though. I've been using cat/crown/yale/linde/raymond/hyster/jughen or some other German brand for 18 yrs they are all pretty good. User friendlyness isn't always great. And can easily cause a liability. Problem is the people that decide to buy these for company's usually have never used one for 8hrs a day. And don't ask opinions from those that do. They look at the budget 😢
Hey man don’t know if you’ll see this but I use a crown at my warehouse and the forks won’t go up unless I have the handle turned all the way to the right and even then it won’t always work would you maybe have an idea what is wrong? I most likely got to try and fix it myself
@@KevinSmith-mt8cz I would start by checking the brake switch adjustment. Make sure the spring tension is good, or you might need to adjust it so it hits the switch correctly.
So where would jc 401 on the main harness be? I had an error code 123 and 133 tested the can wires from access 1 and 3 and the ohms where good I also analyze the BRS1 and it's open and close as it should not sure where the problem is but it was also throwing code 133 which I'm supposed to test the jc401 to access 5. Any help would be appreciated.
Great question. JC 401 should be the big bin out harness that hooks up to access 5. OR I think it’s the one that goes to access 1. It passes by the lift motor pump and goes up to the display (access 1)
Today, I had a similar problem, with a PE4500, ok Error 336, potentiometer, 000. Drive-10.87 FWR-10.87, so far it is fine, now when you return the handler, then error 336 appears. What can be???
One of your switches is out of adjustment and is activating before the pot reaches voltage see what direction of travel sets off the code and adjust the switch accordingly
I would 100% recommend it. You should do it in a heart beat. Or heavy equipment. Being a field mechanic, working on forklifts or heavy equipment is where it’s at. It’s not easy work but it pays better and every day is something different. You won’t regret it. There’s a reason you’re wanting to leave automotive.
@@jess9571 I can’t speak for those companies, because I’ve never worked for them personally, but I can give you advice based on people that have worked for them and my experience working on those equipment. CROWN: they are known for their electric forklifts. I personally enjoy working on Crowns and that’s how I fell in love with electrical diagnostics and electric forklifts. Now I’ve met a lot of crown techs, and they generally don’t like working for crown. They have a lot of contracts and you’ll be putting in serious hours. Now I have heard that growth is pretty good in that company. Again, that’s just what I’ve heard. RAYMOND: a lot of my customers hate Raymond techs. Most of them are under qualified and just throw parts at things. Doesn’t mean you should be that way. Raymond’s are fairly easy to work on and they also are known for electric trucks. Raymond and Toyota is also kind of the same thing. TOYOTA: I’ve had nothing but good experiences with that company. My local Toyota dealer is amazing. I’m an independent forklift mechanic and own my business, and they go out of their way to help me if I need parts or services. I love working on Toyotas, as you can tell by my CZcams channel. From my experience, Toyotas are the best of both worlds. They have diesel, gas, LPG and electric forklifts. They got it all and they are really good at making them. Not hard to fix and parts are always available. I’m kind of biased towards Toyota as you can tell. lol

Hello The Forklift Guy, we have Crown ESR5260, the problem is, it suddenly stops after 1 meter of travel. Battery is full charge. can you please help me to troubleshoot this forklift. Thank you
I'm in New york and I'm a lincoln tech student right now, crown came into my school to recruit ,to make a long story short ,what would they have me doing for my first jobs after training ?
362 is the pressure transducer to the hydraulics. It is the sensor on the other side of the fitting on the pump from the hose. Either a bad sensor or broken wire. It Apply’s to bot PEs or SCs . And I believe also RCs. The lift will still run for the RC and SC. but will still appear as a wrench
I haven’t. But the manual says it’s a short circuit in the traction motor (M1) or Access 3 (the big grey controller). It might be a bad drive motor. You have to check resistance between each motor terminal and motor ground. If there is a short, then replace Drive motor. If there is an open circuit, then replace access 3.
